I personally think this is a pretty good choice, he reminds me a lot of Gene Hackman in some of the shots. What do you guys think about this choice ? Who would you have cast instead or do you approce this choice ?

IG-64 Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 I'm not a big superman guy, so I don't know alot about the character. It seems Lex is dramatically diffrent in every rendition of Superman i've seen. So I guess it's a good choice given that the actor isn't someone annoying. Like Vin Diesel. Personally though, I think the director should have stuck with X-Men, I have a feeling that the next X-Men movie, with a diffrent director, is going to suck. And I really liked the first 2, so that would be a bummer.

toms Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 I used to love superman... i used to have an awesome 4 inch thick anthology of superman comics from the very 1st one up until about 1975... it rocked. He's probably one of the hardest superheroes to update to the modern era though, as he's a major product of his time. I'm pretty sure this film will be good (though if X3 suffers because of it i won't be happy) but I'm not convinced that the way portrayal they are going with is the one that would have worked best. Then again, they seem to be almost actively trying to make it related to the original Superman movie with Christopher Reeve in it.. which was a damn awesome movie. (as would have been superman 2 if the studio hadn't messed with it). I always thought the aging, controlled superman featured in some of the elseworlds comics, Kingdom Come and The Dark Knight Returns would have made for a kick-ass movie. With the public turned against him, lex as president, etc.. In an ideal world they'd make them crossover with the batman films. Make 2 more of each (with the next batman having the joker, the third being knightfall and batman getting defeated by bane, maybe the superman ones including darkseid or his death)... have the fourth be a crossover film loosely based on the Kingdom plot of the superheoes withdrawing from the world... and have the joint fifth be loosely based on Dark Knight returns... batman vs Superman (under the thumb of president luthor). I'm going to withdraw to my own little dreamworld now.
