Emperors tomb deserves a tomb!

I have just completed the Indiana Jones and the Emperors Tomb game. I must say i am very disapointed. I have played all three of it's predecessors (last crusade, FoA, and infernal machine) and I have found that Emperors tomb DOES NOT add up to them. Last crusade excluded, as it's plot was pre-written, Emperors tomb was not as impressive as I would have hoped, playing FoA and Infernal machine. Partly, I assume that ET was not as good, because of its direction, different than FoA and Infernal machine (both creations of Hal Barwood, a video gaming genius) Anyway, I found it a bit problematic that the mirror of dreams was scattered around the world, without any explanation of how they got there. I think that the focus was animation and impressive graphics, (which i thought weren't all that impressive anyway) instead of what it should have been, plot. There are so many parts in ET that look like the animators just got lazy! like the part where Mei is posessed by Kng Tien! when you beat her, the demon vanishes, and all of the sudden you fing yourself, on the ground next to her. it's not to say, though, that ET didn't have its parts, I mean i really liked the Prague scenario, the Alchemist was pretty cool, and I liked the Kraken, but altogether, I found it really, quite problematic. FoA anf Infernal machine seem to mend together, making two beatuifully configured computer games, whereas ET is sort of a crudely hewn misadventure through a series of unrelated locales. anyway I didn't much like ET.

I really liked that game, I thought the action pace and feel of the game were much like the movies. And I had no problem with the graphics. I really love the levels in Prague exploring that castle, and China too. I like beating up the guys in the bar. And my favorite thing about it was that you could pick up so much random stuff to beat guys down with. I love going through the library and beating guys in the face with the chairs.

Hand to hand combat was amazing. Seriously, I never played FoA and I wasn't impressed with the demo for IM, but ET isn't that bad. It's a fun beat 'em up with some good graphics and a variety of locales. I'm not a big fan of the story, and the Wu Han thing conflicts with the Indy novels. I do hope the next game has a better story, but I hope the enviroments and fighting are gonna be as addictive as they were in ET :D

I thought the gameplay was great, the story wasn't too bad, up until the final levels i thought it was a really good game. The last levels after you pick up the weird disc blade thing are total garbage. It just feels like another buffy game after that.

before then tho i thought it was pretty good. I didnt like infernal machine, that just felt like a tomb raider clone, and by the time it came out, the tomb raider gameplay formula was getting stale and boring.

Don't forget the best element of the game

Grabbing some poor sucker from behind putting him in a head lock beating him silly and then tossing him over a railing never to be seen again

Actually my favorite was beating unsuspecting victims over the head with a shovel, or whipping the wine bottle at their face and watching that knock them over the railings.

I thought it was excellent, but I was just wondering about some parts. I mean, how does he escape from the Netherworld with Ying? An elevator? There was like only one door, which lead to a path that requires whip-swinging, which lead back to a long ramp with endless falls. I understand Indy could do it, but how could Ying? Otherwise, it was awsome.

I liked it.

Other than the one level where you are running on the castle wall from the giant machine, which took me forever to get through, and bugged me since it was so different from the entire rest of the game,.. I thought it was really well done.

I think everyone hated that level. I remember standing up in my living room and leaning everywhich way for an hour and a half to get past it. I'm undergoing similar turmoil in Prince of Persia 2 when escaping from the beast that stalks him throughout the game. Forgot what it's called. That's besides the point. Both are awesome games worth putting up with crappy bits like that to beat.

I played the demo to Emperors Tomb, the combat was alright but the swimming parts were horrible. The controls reminded me of the annoying Tomb Raider setup.

Also, the gunplay was way too easy. Didn't even have to aim. I would pay 20 bucks for it, but I just hope the next game is better....

I liked ET except the last part of the game. To hard and to much supernatural stuff. The reviews of ET at Amazon.com are real good. Most people are giving it 4 or 5 stars. I playing through ET again for the first time since I bought it when it came out. I'm having a great time playing it again.
