DarthTDe
About a week ago,I watched RotS for the 4th time, and I noticed that the "Battle of Kashyyk",wasn't really a battle. It was more of a quick fight!I thought it was going to be an epic war-type battle! Not this...Dud!I was wondering if anyone else thought the same. ChAiNz.2da
I was more dissappointed in the fact that Kashyyyk and the whole Wookie "in general" was merely a few scenes... kind of a big let down as that was one of my more highly anticipated parts of the movie I wanted to see... Granted, it wasn't a pivotal plot point, but it still left me wanting more... But yah, the battle was a portion of the "let down"... still, I would (and will) repeatedly watch Ep.III countless more times when the DVD comes out
DarthTDe
I'm hoping that there's extended battle scenes, like on the lord of the rings DVD's.
El Sitherino
Well... not all battles are long and amazing. There have been a lot of key battles that merely lasted an hour. That said, I do wish we had more wookiee action.
DarthTDe
I'm not saying I want an hour, just more than two minutes.
Leviathan
[...]I noticed that the "Battle of Kashyyk",wasn't really a battle. It was more of a quick fight! DarthTDe, do you know the general moral / objective of the Republic's army ?...
DarthTDe
eh?no... Please put more thought into your posts, this is a discussion forum, not a chatroom ~coupes.
TK-8252
We didn't need to see the battle. It was not important, just another round of the droids getting their bolts kicked by the clone army. It would probably be rather boring, and I'd much rather see Anakin's seduction, Mace's death, the Jedi Temple raid, Order 66, etc.
DarthTDe
Yeah, I Really wanted to actually SEE the temple raid, like in the game.
Jeff
I would have liked some more Wookie action, but like TK said, it wasn't necessary. I'm still happy with the results of the movie
DarthTDe
Yeah,Nothing could have taken away from that.It was still my favorite of the series.
Leviathan
DarthTDe, do you know the general moral / objective of the Republic's army ?... eh?no... Indeed, the Clone Army is particular and unique : Contrary to the majority of armies present in the Galaxy, it uses the raw force and heavy armament at nearly all battles it lives. Thus, Clones can crush any resistance quickly... That's why the battle of Kashyyyk is just one of those "short" battles...
Lynk Former
I think it's best to wait for the DVD version before we say that anything was too short
Pho3nix
Yeah, the Kashyyk "battle" was a BIG disappointment.
Leviathan
Not a disappointment... Just a too fast sequence...
Prime
I could have used more of it... But then again, I felt the same about the final duel.

Probably deleted scenes, but they probably won't be incorporated into the movie.

That sounds something like a "reserved for the all-inclusive 6-Pack StarWars Series Collector's Edition Box Set".. hehehe...
Kurgan
I think he's talking about having deleted scenes that you can view on the DVD but that aren't pasted into the movie itself as you watch on the DVD. You know, like the difference on TPM between the "coruscant taxi scene" and other scenes like the extended pod race sequence and the crashing bongo scene.... or in AOTC you have the extra lines between Anakin & Padme after the mass murder, but not the scenes of Obi-Wan talking to the Analysis Droid at the Library or Padme's anti-military speech to the Senate. In the case of the prequel deleted scenes Lucas has to spend millions to create the special effects to "finish" each scene since in reality it's just some actors (or nobody, if it's all cg characters) in front of a blue/green screen. Pretty boring... He didn't have this excuse with the OT deleted scenes since they were all done in the days before CG. I mean crap, the Behind the Magic was a CD-ROM and they managed to put FOUR deleted scenes from ANH into it. Yet Lucas couldn't be bothered to put even one on the OT DVD set (though a few deleted scenes could be scraped together from the bonus materials, it's cumbersome to edit them out of the trailers and the 3.5 hour documentary). See "Star Wars Deleted Magic" (fan made movie) for examples.

Leviathan
Battle over Coruscant was too short, and we didn't see Chancellor's capture... Why would this battle be good ?

I would have rather seem some dogfighting like originally in the script rather than the "Buzz Droid" sequence.
Leviathan
See Chancellor's capture in Clone Wars and in ROTS are two different things...
