lols. Well, considering that Narnia is a childrens series, there probly isnt much damage the hacks at disney can do to it (I say probly because they have a pretty bad track record).

Please post what "bad track record" that you keep refering to. Off the top of my head, I can't think of one Disney project that I don't like.

Name a few....

I could name a few, but why bother, with something as lousy as those movies, instead - here is a list of the di*ney company credits over at imdb: linky - now I would be lying if I say that I have seen more than 20-25 of those movies, but what I've seen made my eyes cry blood... seriously... and of course there is an exception to confirm my hypothesis... oh wait there are 2 exceptions: Pirates of the Carribean and Atlantis the Lost Continent, amazingly enough these 2 don't suck... weird, I wonder why?

Apart from those 2, ask me about any other movie from that list and if I've seent it, then I hate it.

I haven't seen The Emperor's New Groove or Atlantis yet, but I really liked Tarzan. Pirates of the Carribean was awesome! Some of Disney's "straight to video" releases don't catch my eye, so I never consider them as part of the "cannon" of Disney films.

As for...

Why do we have to name a few? 'everything after Lion King' is pretty self-explanatory. Its an opinion, you dont have to agree with it. :p

Because I requested it. Duh! And you are right, I don't have to agree with your opinion, but I would like to know the origin of it. You have said that Disney's track record sucks more than once and I simply wanted to know why you felt this way. I personally think that Disney has a pretty darn good track record....I mean look at the empire that Walt built! He was the single most influential artist of the 20th Century and his legacy continues today. Sure there have been a few flops, but I hardly think that constitutes a bad track record.

Ah, I keep forgetting that's a disney movie. Seeing as it doesn't suck and all.

Ditto. You know, this movie was made by Br*ckheimer and D*sney. Worst movies of all time are made by these companies (imo) and they finally decide to make a movie together. I was prepared for a suckfest of the greatest caliber... but wo and behold Pirates of the Carribean was great! Fantastically great! Proof that these companies can make good movies. Yet, they don't... now, why the heck is that?!

Im not trying to sway you into not liking Di$ney, if you want to like the stuff they put out thats fine with me.

If you call mutilating story lines so that they are "kid friendly" then yest they have a good track record. If they stayed away from recreations of stories, then it wouldnt be so bad. Like Pocahontas for example... no where near the real story, and just so it can be "kid friendly" and also it teaches them the *wrong* story of Pocahontas. All those fairy tales like snow white, cinderella, the little mermaid, and such were white-washed to be children friendly... and while I dont have anything against making cartoons for children, some people grow up thinking that the little mermaid as told by disney is how it actually goes, or those other ones!

Keep them away from recreations of stories and Ill be fine with disney.

Yeah, it's like the two really ugly people having very hot offspring.

"and as a working actor one would want this... why?"

John Spartan is an "everyman" character, and if you have a known actor play him, that image is gonna stick, whoever gets first shot at playing MC (unless only 3 people in antarctica go see it) defines the character.

I can't believe it, but I agree with Ashley, disney does screw stuff up just to make it more pleasing to some people, regardless of the truth.

Yeah, but movies are also advertisments for an actors skills. The idea is for important people to know they're a great actor, so they get another job after this movie.

I know this is going to sound harsh, but here goes anyway....

You know, I keep hearing this "kid friendly" excuse from every Anime fan on the planet. Would you rather they be exposed to full-blown porn? A good bit of Anime qualifies. If they had to make a true-to-history version of Pocahontas, they wouldn't/couldn't make it into a cartoon because most people in the US firmly, and erroneously, believe that cartoons are for kids only. Wouldn't it be nice to take your child to a Pocahontas cartoon movie and see her turning cartwheels in the nude for the white man and then have to explain what they just saw? Wouldn't that be swell? Innocence is something worth protecting. Besides, cartoons are typically entertainment only devices and not educational material most of the time. And while we are on the subject of history and culture, it amazes me that with the popularity of Anime, that very little else of the enormous bulk of Japanese art gets any attention. It seems to me that Anime has done some candy-coating of its own through the years.

As far as the fairy tales go, what is wrong with rewriting a fairy tale? West Side Story was basically a rewrite of Romeo and Juliet.
