PhantomHelix Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Does anyone know if they make any that go above 80 minutes for music? Because all the ones I have are 700mb/80min... Are there any that are more than that? Cuz I need to get some.

I think it's because that's the maximum you can get at that size of the cd, so to have more space they would either have to make it physically larger or more than a single layer.
Datheus Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Nope. The best you could do is get an MP3 player CD-player. You could fit much more music onto the disc by using MP3s. Beyond that, you're out of luck.
Lady Jedi Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 I've never seen them bigger, but like Datheus said, you can fit a lot of MP3 files onto a disc. And if you're using them for backing up computer files, a DVD-R works nicely.
Boba Rhett Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Actually there's a few companies offering 870mb 90-minute cdrs (must be burnt with a burner that supports oversized discs) but you should probably just grab an el cheapo mp3 cd player and throw a couple hundred songs on any old cd you have.
Zappa_0 Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 They are also making DVD players that can read MP3 CD's these days too, aswell MP3 DVD's. So you might wanna check your DVD player out if you have one, before rushing off to the store.
PhantomHelix Posted November 1, 2005 Author Posted November 1, 2005 Damn. The reason I ask is I'm trying to make a mix for my car, and I narrowed it down to 30 songs.
acdcfanbill Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 lol i must have a hundred cd-r's in my car.
Zappa_0 Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 Does your car have a casset deck? Is so just get you a Muva MP3 player and a casset adaptor. You can get a 250 MB for about $100 and a 1GB for $160. Most walmarts has them and they are really good. Something cheaper then a IPOD.
MTV2 Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 Blu-Ray is the answer! over 50gbs(dont quote me on that!!1!)!
jon_hill987 Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 You can get just over 80min on a standard CD-R with nero, it does warn you that it could dammage the disk and or burner beyond repare though... How were you ever goning to get a 30 track mix onto one CD? I normaly only manage 11 or 12. though I'm guessing you mean compelation rather than mix don't you? if not what mixing software do you use? I use Virtual DJ.
