daventry
I read that Star Wars 1 & 2 will be re-made again, is it true. Is Star Wars 4 5 6 gonna be re-made again with extra scenes and deleted scenes, because i read that they will be in 3D. I read there will be two new cartoons of Star Wars, one that is after ROTS and one after ROTJ

Kurgan
I read that Star Wars 1 & 2 will be re-made again, is it true. Nobody knows. Lucas has in the past denied that there would be a "special edition" of Episode I, and yet he did tweak it up when it came to DVD, adding a few scenes here and there. Episode II was tweaked a little bit too when it came to DVD (though all he really added were some sparks to Jango's jetpack, the rest of the changes were present on the cut shown in digital theaters and in the IMAX version even though it was shorter... but these changes were missing from the regular theatrical version shown in most theaters). The one bit of "evidence" that everyone presents that Episode I will be "remade" (actually just a new version released.. "remaking" typically refers to re-creating a film in a slightly different fashion, like with new actors, new director, sets, modifications to the story/lines, etc). And that is the "digital Yoda" replacement of the TPM muppet. Apparently this short clip is on the ROTS DVD bonus materials. It was a "test shot" done by ILM's team, but people are speculating that Lucas "liked it" and will use it to justify re-releasing Episode I. No official confirmation yet, just speculation. Is Star Wars 4 5 6 gonna be re-made again with extra scenes and deleted scenes, because i read that they will be in 3D. No "remakes" that we know of. Re-released? You bet. The "rumor" from Van Ling and passed on to digitalbits.com is that there will be a 30th anniversary version. DigitalBits speculated that this is the HD-DVD and/or Blu-Ray version. They hope it will include the ORIGINAL versions, but Lucas has repeatedly denied that he'll ever release them again because they "don't really exist for me anymore" and "aren't my true vision" etc. The inclusion of deleted scenes would only seem natural, but again, no proof that this will happen anytime soon. Whether the release of the 6 Star Wars movies on a next generation digital format will entail any further changes to the movies themselves, is pure speculation at this point. 3-D? Yes. Lucas has announced he's working on theatrical 3-D versions of the classic trilogy planned for release sometime in 2007. Digitalbits backs this up too. I read there will be two new cartoons of Star Wars, one that is after ROTS and one after ROTJ The "after ROTS" cartoon you speak of is probably a reference to the confirmed "cg animated series" planned. I don't know exactly when it's set, but it will be prequel based and that seems like a likely enough guess. The "after ROTJ" cartoon I have not heard anything about before you said it, so I have no idea. There is a live action TV series planned, but it will take place between ROTS and ANH, not after ROTJ. MachineCult
Theres an after ROTS series, which is live action, and the CG animated series is going to be the clone wars.

MachineCult
The CG series is just a remake of the Clone Wars cartoon series, the live action series set after ROTS will revolve around some of the very minor characters from the movies. The Doctor
I could have sworn I posted on this thread already... Anyway, if they try to remake any of the movies, I will personally make their lives a living hell.
Sabretooth
Actually, it is best we keep the origins of Jedi/Sith a mystery, because that can lead to some really non-SWish crap, like the Yuuzhan Vong.

Uh... it wasn't a "test shot" they replaced the entire puppet Yoda in Menace with a digital Yoda, it was part of their practice for doing the Yoda model and animations in Sith. Kurgan
Okay, so they say that on the DVD? That they replaced every instance of Muppet Yoda in TPM with the new CG Yoda? I don't have the DVD to confirm, so that's why I'm asking. Everything I'd read previously was that it was only a test shot. But you're saying the whole movie was done as a test, that's a huge difference! So I guess I see where you're coming from. Why replace him in EVERY shot if they didn't plan to re-release the movie that way sometime in the future? If it was only for testing, they could easily do it with just a few scenes. Yoda doesn't really do much in the movie after all besides sit in his chair or stand by at Qui Gon's funeral (the one shot where he moves around is CG already). Alkonium
Sith where inhabitants from Korriban... Jedi only Lucas know but will the series figure Obi/Vader/other 'famous' chars? The Jedi originated on the planet Tython, and the Light and Dark Sides of the Force were originally known as the Ashla and the Bogan.

Prime
It would be a big time improvement, IMO. The question is, will those purists who are up arms about the OT changes get equally bitter about this change?

Astrotoy7
why cant they use their CG wizardry to create a sequence where Jar Jar gets impaled and immolated [/fantasizing] That would improve TPM by leaps and bounds mtfbwya

Then GL would have to come up with some crap like JarJar's son, or something. Or he'll add in that a computer error gave all emergency powers to Palpy or something of the sort... master_skywalke
Okay, so they say that on the DVD? That they replaced every instance of Muppet Yoda in TPM with the new CG Yoda? Did you watch the bonus dvd of ROTS? In "The Chosen One" you will first see a little piece of the scene when Qui-Gonn takes Anakin before the Council, there you see the Muppet/Puppet Yoda. Then there is around 3 minutes interview and then you see again a piece of TPM, bur this time with CG Yoda (It was the "Fear leads to anger, Anger leads to hate, Hate leads to sufering" scene)! If they are going to release TPM with a CG Yoda, then I hope they will completely remove Muppet Yoda. If they don't TPM will be even bigger crap then it is right now. Or he'll add in that a computer error gave all emergency powers to Palpy or something of the sort... Atleast it would be better then the Jar Jar crap whe now see in AOTC

No, I don't have the ROTS DVD, so I haven't watched it, much less the bonus disc, that's why I asked. I know they replaced him in that one scene, what I didn't know (now answered via the 60 minutes episode I also never saw) was if they had done so in the entire movie. And still unknown is whether he plans to re-release TPM with those changes in place on DVD (which I think people are assuming here and hoping for). While CGI Yoda from ROTS looks a little bit more like Yoda from ESB-ROTJ than the one in Episode I (though he loses his muppet qualities) and is more articulate, I don't think that's enough to save the movie and make it worth buying a second time. I know that hardcore "collectors" won't care, as they re-buy movies when anything is different (in their never-ending quest to obtain all star wars merchandise known to man), even if it's only the packaging, but I don't really care what they think. A new transfer that matches the quality of the other SW dvd's would be nicer, but still. They'd have to be practically giving it away... I just don't like the movie that much.
