Mike Windu
Who's seen it? I have! and it is awesome. Oh yes, it is awesome. The movie is about the life of one soldier during Desert Storm. It is filled with tons of humor and great acting from both Jake Glyndenhall and Jamie Foxx. All of the characters have good screen presence and give a good job. The lesser characters do a great job, even though some are hard to distinguish. Jarhead deals with the psychological effects of the soldiers during Desert Storm. How the soldiers cope with it is up to them. "No standard solution." is all I can say on that because I don't wish to spoil it. I would recommend this movie to anyone. Just don't go in there expecting action. 9/10 Go now!

Datheus
Saw it opening night. Definitely a good movie. It could have stood to be slightly darker at points, and 10-15 more minutes to the ending of the movie. I really was expecting an equal division of time given to before being deployed, being in the Middle East, and then being back home. Those are very minor points, however. A very good movie otherwise. Mike Windu
Aye, the girls I went with enjoyed it too even though they hate anything to do with war. That, and their constant reminders that Jake Glyndenhall is really hot.
Pie™
That, and their constant reminders that Jake Glyndenhall is really hot. Lady Jedi
.... Jake Glyndenhall.... . Do you mean Jake Gyllenhaal, or does he have some crazy lookalike with a similar name? As for the movie, I haven't seen it. War movies = bleh, all too often.
El Sitherino
It's not really a war movie, just a story about a marine who happens to get tossed into desert storm.

A war. oops, you meant dessert storm. 'course. That's not a war; it's Hell. What with all the cakes and pecan pies flying about.
Mike Windu
War movies focus on the actual fighting of the war. This does not. Therefore it does not fall under the common category of "war movie." =) (and no, they weren't my dates, we just went with some friends to see it. It was originally guy's night out. Besides, I don't like those girls ,er,well, one of them I don't. >_>) I win at life.

Therefore it does not fall under the common category of "war movie." You could say the same about Apocalypse Now, but I dare say it's a "war movie". I haven't seen Jarhead yet, but I'm sure I will what with war movies being my favorite types of movies. Even though you say this isn't a war movie.
