Stormtrooper

During the video footage at the E3 convention being showed at gamespot something caught my eye a hologram of a stormtrooper. I wonder why it caught my eye? lol can't you tell lol? I was wondering why he was shown and what it might mean. Please express your thoughts on this.

 

p.s I couldn't get a pic from the video because it is over now and not live, and idk where to go and find it. Also they are now re-showing Button Mashing! So you would have to see the footage to know what i am talking about.

I believe you are talking about the stormtrooper in the space combat that was a hologram?If so then it is probably just there to tell you the status of your ships, hints,etc that type of thing.

The trooper was giving some kind of intel (or suggestion) for you to decide how best to go ahead capturing the planet.

 

His words are: "The rebels are blatently making their precence known in the streets. Deploying your troops on the surface should remove any traitorous thoughts from their heads."

So the Hologram Stormtrooper, in essence is a mission breifing, But I am suprised that they did not use palpatine having to do anything with the missions because he is the one who would end up knowing about everything involving the Rebel Alliance for the New Repulic anyways.

Im suprised it wasnt Grand Moff Tarkin, seeing as in the new Game Spot preview, they said he would provide you with mission details. Of course, I dont really mind. In fact it reminded me of in Rebellion when your droid companion would buzz in with useless information lol, for some reason it reminded me of that.

Moff Tarkin may give you your mission briefs and the trooper could be giving you a statment on intel or something. OR In the single player story mode its Tarkin but the conquest mode its a Stormtrooper since your in total charge at that point? OR he could be a tutorial help guide like that centorian guy and lady from RTW who gave you advice in the upper corner?

I figure the trooper comes up every once in a while when objectives are achieved and will report them achieved like the clone troopers in the movies will report in with status reports, etc.

It's a really impressive touch in my opinion. Dang this game is really looking good.

Yeah I agree it really adds a nice touch, a real star wars feel to it with your troops reporting in like that.

In the Gamespot video, I believe they were just showing off the skirmish levels, 1 ground and 1 space, so the stormtrooper might just be there in that half of the game. Then again, maybe Tarkin gives you the briefing before/while a level loads, with the stormtrooper being your tactical advisor telling you about the actual combat situation.

That space battle wasn't a skirmish battle. They set it up from the galactic map. It looked to be a campaign battle and all they did was load their game and play from that spot.

I bet Tarkin is your pop up holo on the galactic map side.
