why does eweryone hate mi 4?

I don't think EMI has the inviting atmosphere of the other games, eg. Knuttin Atoll. And the music made that problem worse. The same with Myst and Riven. Sorta makes you want to leave as soon as possible. In CMI the ambience blended in perfectly with the music, so much that you didn't even notice, but felt like you were there. I don't think it was a graphics problem, SOMI an MI2 looked much nicer and there was some heavy duty pixellation there.

I agree that the graphics could have been better though I will have to defend the soundtrack. Aside from the re-used tracks it was a nice, original score. Not as good as CMI in the music department, but definitely lives up to the series' standards, even if some other things don't.

Jojo and the hanging monkey couldn't have been the same. Jojo Jr says his father was left hanging and didn't know how to let go. He couldn't have gone and played at the Woodtick. You just do the same thing to lure him. Monkeys like bananas.

You are confusing the monkey wrench monkey from MI2 (Jojo) with the hanging-from-a-lever monkey outside of the giant monkey head from MI1 (Jojo sr.).

Take a look at this pic (boot parameter 596, if you want to go there yourself):

On my search for the image I stumbled across some curious Monkey Islands:

Monkey Island: the eco heart of Singapore

Monkey Island, OK

Monkey Island Resort in Thailand

People often say what they didn't like about EMI, and rarely what they *did* like.

I loved how Guybrush's clothes got more tattered when he was on Monkey Island, for instance.

And even though I remember the graphics as being a bit washed-out, I loved the style and a lot of the details.

(Also don't forget the Monkey Island Hotel in the UK)

Based on what they say in EMI, yes both monkeys are named Jojo. I think it's because they mixed the two up. If not, they decided to call both monkeys Jojo. This is unlikely, so I made an assumption.

More on EMI. I did like the game, but it was a disappointment. I enjoyed saying quack to Pegnose.

Mr Brush: So the infamous Pegnose finally meets his match!

Peggy: I'll let you get back to running errands for the wifey.

My Brush: QUACK!

Peggy: AAAAAAAAAAGHH!

Also:

Wow, look at the size of her.... Ponytail.

I'd always just assumed they'd forgotten that there was a monkey in MI2 called Jojo, and just decided that Jojo was a nice name for a monkey.

As for what I enjoyed, there was a decent amount of funny dialogue, and like I've said, I didn't fully deteste Monkey Kombat. Infact I'm not saying I hate it fully, I haven't played it in a couple of years (something I'd remedy if I hadn't lost my F1 key), but I did enjoy bits of it.
