It should also be customary for deaf kids to listen to Bethoven for at least an hour a day, so they appreciate it. [Napoleon] IDIOTS! [/Napoleon]

Sure, if Beethoven could write his songs while he was deaf, why couldn't they listen to them? :p

But yeah, that's pretty dumb.

Homeschooling FTW!

Blind students required to pass driver's ed

Disabled students not exempt from graduation prerequisite in Chicago

Bastards. :indif:

It does say in the article that parents can sign to have their disabled child not have to do the driver's ed thing, but it's ' a little know fact'. Idiots.

And if anyone turns this into a 'homeschooling pwns you' or a 'public schooling pwns you' thread, I'm gonna have to bust some heads. Good day to you all. :D

So print that **** in braile and give it to the ****ers. They can read and write.

erm, yeah, that's not exactly the point. The point is that in order to graduate, they must devote time and concentration to something that will never ever have any bearing on their lives at all.

Just plain stupid

You mean like a lot of the useless classes you have to do in high school? :o

SHOCK AND AWE!

Well there is a difference in classes that are truly pointless and ones that just suck.

Blind kids being forced to take drivers ed is about as useful as McDonalds employees having to study advanced military tactics. Certainly not detrimental, but far from knowledge that will help them along.

Well I don't see Gym advancing my academics in any fashion.

Until the great burger wars of 2089. Then, such tactical knowledge will help them in crushing their meaty foes.

Basically I just don't see (PUN!) why they can't just suck it up and do the test. It's ****ing easy. Stop sign means stop, don't drive 120 in a 40.

I will never need the knowledge I gained in the geology course I had to take last semester. I'm not a geologist, I don't care about geology, and I'll never use geology.

I still had to take it. It's not like they're devoting more than an hour of their lives to studying for this test....and if they are....yeah...

An hour is overkill.

Anyway, it's like 20 minutes of obvious s*** on the test. There's worse things though, like here in Massachusetts, we had to take the MCAS tests, it was like 4 days of bull**** and you had to pass it to graduate. Hell, anyone could find the area of a 3D shape if you give them the formula a page and a half before and a TI-83+!

I so wish that my oceanography class that I'm struggling just to pass and the algebra class that I had to retake would both go away... but public schools are run like communism, so you do get stuck with stupid **** like this.

But despite the bull, public schooling still beats the hell out of homeschooling. :)

*Prepares for battle*

Sith makes a good point. It's stupid, but oh well?

What if one day they are cured of their blindness. Then they'll know how to drive right off the bat!

I find the matter completely laughable. Once these kids start failing the class then they'll remove the rule..

public schooling = win
