“I’m going first?” Beryl asked, as she secured the rope around her waist, and then double checked her knot. She looked backward over her shoulder at the window ledge that was their target. “Is the window unlocked, or am I going to need a glass cutter or something?” She paused, a bit unsure. “And, if I’m down there, who’s holding the slack up for you up here on the way down?”

Nic looked at Beryl and smild. "Who said i was going down. I'm going to lower you down." Nic reached back into his pack and took out a small handheld computer interface tool and handed it to beryl. "If Ry and shortstuff have done their job the locks should be down and you can pull the door open. once in, all you have to do is attach that to the console and install the programme. Then i'll pull you up."

"You are joking, right?" Beryl asked him. "Right?" Seeing Nic's evil grin get even wider, she rolled her eyes. "I hate you," she said, deadpan. "Really, I do. Hate you." Nevertheless, she tucked the interface module inside her shirt and then prepared to descend.

Just as she leaned back to tighten up the slack before absailing down, she gave Nic a serious look. "Keep that rope tight," she said. She closed her eyes for a moment, then began her decent.

It actually wasn't that bad, except for the wind, and her cold feet, and the creaking of the rope as her full weight was finally laid on it. Reaching the window ledge, she hollered up to Nic to keep the rope tight once again.

The window had a small ledge around the edges. Probably something to do with designing it to be easily cleaned. Handy though when opening it from the outside.

The window began to slide open, and Beryl exhaled with relief. Apparently, Jana and Ryshana had done their job.

One foot now on the inside ledge of the window, she pulled twice on the rope for Nic to give her some slack so she could get inside. Her barefeet coming in handy now, she padded across the floor and attached the interface to the console. She silently tapped a few keys to load in the programme. It only took a few seconds and then it was done.

She removed the interface and tucked it back into her shirt, then headed back for the window. Standing on the ledge once again, she tugged on the rope as a signal for Nic to take up the slack again. Window finally closed, she tugged twice for Nic to begin pulling her up.

This was the part she dreaded. Going up. There was nothing for her to grip onto on the slick surface of the building. "Please don't let me fall," she whispered to herself.

Ryshana was quick to get the security system disabled. It wasn't very difficult, especially with the security card Beryl had nabbed earlier. With all the extra access, and time for that matter, Ryshana also did some digging around into the more sensitive files within the Imperial Database. It wasn't necessarily intelligence gathering she was after more so than it was personal information gathering that she was after.

after a quick search, Ryshana was able to look up the classified files the Empire had on her. Sure enough, the last filing they had on her was that she had been followed and was subsequently lost during a refugee transport. Although there had been an investigation into her dealings with the Echo and the crew, they hadn't been able to gather any solid evidence. Personally imprinted by the Dark Lord himself, Ryshana noticed when she saw Vader's tag on the 'Filed by' line.

Out of curiousity, Ryshana decided to look up something even more personal. Although she was there when everything had gone down, Ryshana was curious to see the classified filing of Jeez's death. As she opened the file, Ryshana was suddenly stunned. The last filing was not a death certificate. Instead, it was a report of a breakout at an Imperial Mining Facility on the Outer Rim. Jeez had been listed as one of the escaped prisoners and was currently at large with no known current whereabouts.

Looking into some of the other files on Jeez, Ryshana sat quietly as the gas dissipated in the room. Ryshana noticed that several prior filings to the jailbreak incident required an even higher security clearance, and that meant that very, very few people had access to those files. Noticing that they were running a bit short on time, Ryshana quickly downloaded the files that she could download on her and Jeez to a datapad.

Turning around in the chair, Ryshana looked over at Jana. She was already finished with the security cameras, but at the same time, she was also the only one who had access to the real security feeds. "Well?? Did they get the package yet?" Ryshana asked.

Nic felt the last tug and began to slowly pull beryl up, when he knew she was almost at the top he tied the rope off. Then he went over to the edge and reached down to grab her. Nic left Beryl to sort her self out and took out the spike and placed all the equipment back in his pack. "Let's get out of here."

Nic then ran back across the roof towards the fire escape near there room and looked down.

"Oh son of a <twi'Lek Curse>!" he cursed as he saw two members of security staff come up the fire escape. Nic looked around and saw no other escape route, after a few seconds of panic somthing clicked inhis head. Nic began to take off the black over-cloths he was wearing over the cloths he wore to the party.

"Take off your cloths and put your heels on." He ordered.

“What?!” Beryl said incredulously to Nic, even as she began to strip off the black shirt. “We’re on the bloody roof!” She undid the clasps on the shoe straps and they dropped to the ground. “What are you planning to do?” She started to take off her trousers, trying to keep her modesty by inching the dress down while sliding them off. “Tell security we made a wrong turn and ended up on the roof?” She rolled her eyes. “They can’t be that stupid.”

“Ugh! I’m kriffin’ freezing,” she said, shivering in the thin dress as she threw the black clothes to Nic, and then put her shoes on. “Now what?”

Nic grabbed the clothes Beryl threw to him and put his and her clothes in the pack he then took the back to a heat exhaust pipe and hid it behind the pipe. Nic then ran back over to the fire escape and looked down and noticed the guards were getting closer then walked back to Beryl.

"Oh this is not good, last time i did this escape plan with Jana she slapped me.... Now this is the only way i can see how we can get out of this situation so i need you to go with me on this." Nic ordered as he grabbed Beryls houlders and pointed back towards the fire escape. He saw the the top of the guards head pop over the roof edge then moved his face closer to beryl's and pressed his lips against her's. Now in a position that could be miss seen as a passionate kiss nic kept his eyes open looking out as the guards got higher. The guards stopped for a few seconds and Nic moved his head back from Beryls and looked directly at the guards.

"Guy's Please, i came up here to be romantic with my wife." Nic said as convincinly as he could. one of the guards nodded and they both turned around thinking they were leaving the couple to a romantic evening. When they were out of site nic looked down at beryl with a worried look on his face. "You're going to hit ain't ya."

((The mentioned Nic and Jana similar escape happens in the upcoming chapter of the Fan-fic))

Beryl just stared at him expressionless for a moment, then frowned slightly, then shook her head, and then turned her back on him and walked a few feet away from him. “I want an apology first,” she said, crossing her arms over her chest, more as an effort to keep warm than a sign of defiance. “Then I’ll decide whether or not I want to do you bodily injury.”

Truth be told, she hadn’t minded Nic’s fake kiss. And that bothered her even more than the act itself.

That’s it? she thought to herself. ‘I’m sorry?’ That’s just not good enough in my book. Oh, he’s definitely getting a slap, at the very least. After we get off this bloody rooftop, that is.

Without a word to Nic, Beryl crossed the roof and went to the fire escape. She took off her shoes again, this time holding them in one hand as she made her way carefully down the fire escape. She didn’t even look to see if Nic was behind her as she carefully stepped through the window and back into their room.

She walked over to the mini-bar and poured herself a brandy, both to warm and calm her a bit.

Nic stepped in through the window and looked over at Beryl who was pouring her drink. Nic turned around and closed his window behind him to keep the cold out and through his pack to the side. He stood there for a few seconds and looked over to the bed and thought it would be a bad idea if they both used the bed.

"You can have the bed and i'll take the floor... Consider it my apologie."

With a slight raise of an eyebrow, Beryl glanced at him askance, then took a sip of her drink. Okay, maybe I won’t slap him. After all, Nic didn’t apologise often. Conceded, yes, but rarely apologised.

She topped off her brandy, and then poured some into a second glass, which she carried over to Nic. “Apology accepted,” she said, offering him the drink. “And thanks for offering to take the floor. And,” she added, with a weak smile, “for not dropping me out there.”

"Hey, I wouldn't drop you, I need my ace Pilot." Nic said taking the glass and smiling back at her. He took a sip of his drink and yawned. "It's been a long busy night we should probably get some shut eye and wait to see if Jack managed to get the Info."

Beryl nodded in agreement. “Actually, I don’t mind if you sleep on the bed,” she said. She looked over her shoulder at it. “I mean, it’s huge. You could sleep four people and a Wookiee in it and still have plenty of room.” She turned back to him. “Just… stay on your side,” she said in all seriousness. “Besides, what about that camera?” she asked, nodding her head towards the hidden camera on the lamp and Cloud's device that Nic had placed there. “We can’t be having a virtual row all night. That really would look suspicious.”

The gas was starting to become quite scarce in the room, and several of the passed out guards were beginning to stir. At the same time, Ryshana suddenly detected somebody approaching. With the gas seeping into the hall, things might look just a tad suspicious. Motioning towards Jana that she was going to check the hall, Ryshana then stepped outside. Pocketing the breather, Ryshana noticed the gas still latent like a fog on the floor, and who ever was coming down the hallway was going to be there shortly. Going over to the security pad, Ryshana quickly shut the door to the room.

Then, the person walked around the corner. It was the Security Officer Beryl had danced with earlier. Noticing the gas on the floor, he quickly looked up at Ryshana with a suspicious look. "What's going on here?" he asked menacingly.

"I'm not quite sure, to be completely honest. I was on my way to the elevator to attend to my master. Is there a security problem of some sort?"

"Possibly. The security system shut down a while ago, and I was coming to personally look over the problem. Besides, what business of yours is it?" he asked rhetorically.

As he walked over to the security pad, he reached into his pocket for his security card. Finally noticing that it wasn't there, he fumbled around to search his other pockets. Not finding it, he suddenly realized what happened with Beryl. "That little..." he started before he snapped his head at Ryshana who hadn't moved. "You..."

"...what?? Looking for this??" Ryshana stated as she held up his security card. His eyes widened momentarily as he started to reach for his blaster, but it was far too late. With a quick round house kick, the officer was lying unconcious on the floor. Swiping the security card, the door opened again, and Ryshana dragged the man into the security room.

"Well, are they done yet?? If not, we really need to get going," Ryshana stated to Jana as she dropped the officer to the floor.

"Yeah, they're done," Jana agreed. She glanced down at the unconscious officer. "Oh, Beryl's dance partner, eh?" She smiled. "Betcha Beryl would be glad to know this happened to him." Shrugging, she reset the security cameras. "Let's go."

Beryl grinned. "I always like sleeping close to the door. So, in this case, left." She downed the rest of her brandy. "I'll be right back," she said, grabbing her pack that had been placed near the dresser, and heading for the refresher room. "This dress has seen enough action for one night."

When she returned, she looked and felt more like 'normal' Beryl. Make-up off, hair touseled, and wearing a tank top and comfortable trousers. She got into the bed (on the left side), and after crunching up the pillow to her liking, she pulled up the covers and let out a relieved sigh.

"G'night, Nic," she said, closing her eyes.

"Night, beryl" Nic replied as he moved to the end of the bed and sat there. He removed his boots then smiled at himself for doing a good job. Nic stretched then took off his jacket and flung it to the side. He then took off his shirt and rubbed his back, although beryl wasn't that heavy she still put alot of strain onit when he pulled her up. Nic's back had a tatoo that was normally covered, The tatoo was from his past, the one he kept trying to forget but he never could get this tatoo removed. The Tatoo was simply the symbol of the Naboo securrity force with a sword and shield behind it, it was the symbol for the NAboo Elite Guard.

Nic looked behind him and saw Beryls eyes were closed and he desided although she had invited him to share the bed it would still be best to take the couch. Nic stood up and walked over and laid on the couch.

Hearing Jack knock on their door, Beryl groaned. She was tired, and the bed felt so soft, and warm, and cozy, and....

She cracked an eye open and stared at the door. Even though she was closer to it, she didn't want to get out of bed to answer it. "Jack's asking for you, Nic. You get the door," she said drowsily. "Please, darling?" she added, with just a hint of sarcasm.

Meanwhile, Ryshana quickly used the Force the guarentee that the few guards that were starting to wake up would be put out of commission for quite a while.

"Lets go," Jana stated.

Following suit, Ryshana headed for the door and opened it. There wasn't anybody in the hallway, so it was just Ryshana providing some cover if somebody did come down the hallway. "We're clear," Ryshana stated softly over her shoulder.
