i have a gamesave with m478 on it fully completed but...what modules are you doing it with?

I can't say I entirely understand your post either. Do you mean that you've been to M4-78 and destroyed all the droids?

Since we're restoring M4-78, all the modules on that planet will be affected. There'll be additions to Korriban as well, so I would have a save just before you go there.

This project will not be done in a very long time, though. I can see it going on until May or later.

Let me make this really simple for you to understand Darth Maleval.

When this mod comes out you will be better off by just starting a new game in order to have the best/most complete experience that the mod will bring to the game (seeing as the Restoration Project will also be done by that time - they are a bit ahead of the M4-78 team I think).

Also the M4-78 is not totally completed just because you destroyed everything there - the modules you downloaded were not edited in any way (for the most part) by the M4-78 team. They were just assembled and put into .mod format from the leftovers in the xbox version (as far as im aware) of the game. When the mod comes out you will most likely be required to take out the empty modules and replace by the completed ones.

Thats how it generaly works. Otherwise even if the Team had changed the names of the modules etc. there would still be problems with the galaxy map. You cannot have 2 of the same modules edited and saves with a different name in your modules folder and expect that they will work properly.

For future reference before you make useless comments try reading the faq of a project :

http://www.m4-78.somee.com/faq.html

... in this case the last answer specifically deals with how the mod works with existing save games.

If you *still* dont get it read some tutorials on modding. Hopefuly i wont have to give you links to those....

What you mean is you ran through the rough, unedited modules in their original state? I don't think installing the M4-78RP and using those savegames is a good idea. Do as foolproof suggested and just start a new game: the modules are completely overhauled. Everything is completely overhauled.

Skye's right. We're completely overhauling the modules, so it wouldn't be a good idea to have a save there. You don't need a new game, though. There'll be additions to Korriban as well, so I would have a save just before you go there.

However, this project will not be done for a very long time. I can see it going on until May or later.

Yeah, May was my estimation too...of 2010 or so. ;)

But I look forward to the fruits of your teams hard work. Restoring an entire planet is an unpresedented amount of work, and fun for replaying.

Does StarWarsKnights still allow for minimal hosting space like for FT's Kotor Tool page?

Now that's an idea. Pavlos and I should have a talk.

Since it's a project of such magnitude, perhaps you could ask there?

The project itself is large, but the site we'd need isn't. Team Gizka has been kind enough to give us a forum on their site to use, so we'd only need a small site to update every month or so. :)

No, it's not at about the site. :xp:

A bit of an anouncement to make here...

Well, many apologies to both my team-mates and to the followers of this mod but I cannot any longer find the time to hammer away at this project. My work load is much greater than it once was and to be quite frank, I'm a little tired of KotOR II modding. Both the project and life are too much to juggle for me, and (obviously) I chose my life over the project.

Apologies once more to everyone.

Pavlos

This puts the project a little in the air, but hopefully we won't go the way of so many previous planet mods. :)

I hope this does not mean that the M4-78 project is over. Anway best of luck to you guys and I hope this all works itself out cause it would really be a shame if it never came out. Good luck guys!;)

 I have to say thank you to everyone who was involved with this project. I know it was hard to keep long term interest in this, but I thank you for giving this project an attempt. You guys have been honest and respectable in these forums, and I hope you will at least stick around to chat.

I give you a:

Life is much more important than modding. Modding is only a recreational activity, which people partake in for fun and entertainment.

Once again,

Awww... Thanks for the kind words, Mac. :)

I wouldn't say the mod is dead, but I will say it is at risk. I suppose that since Pavlos and some other team members aren't here, I am the de facto head of the project until something happens. At the moment, we're exchanging some PMs regarding the future of this mod.

@Darth_Robinson, the story has been pretty much figured out. Do you have much technical experience?
