The Doctor
I'm attempting to settle a... dispute, on another forum. Did the Rakatan Infinite Empire use Hyperspace technology as we know it, or did they rely on 'Hyperdrive catapults' to fuel their journies? Det. Bart Lasiter
I'm attempting to settle a... dispute, on another forum. Did the Rakatan Infinite Empire use Hyperspace technology as we know it, or did they rely on 'Hyperdrive catapults' to fuel their journies? As far as I know they first invented the hyperspace drive, but it's mechanics were linked to the Force somehow. Later the Corellians adapted them so that they did not rely on the Force. The Doctor
Yes, I know they have Hyperspace in some form, but which one?
Jasper_Kazai
Errr... How exactly did this come up? Â I'd guess that, since they created the Star Forge, the (pretty much) essence of evil, that they used some kind of Force-related hyperspace traveling. The Doctor
Errr... How exactly did this come up? It was a canon argument. This guy claimed that the Warriors of the Force RP violated canon beyond anything he had seen before. This was his biggest point. His others were that the lightsaber didn't exist at the time of the RP, and that the human race did not originate on Corellia (which is odd, seeing as how I never said they did - though they could have. I think it's one of the possiblities, anyway...).
Det. Bart Lasiter
It's mentioned (in passing, but mentioned nonetheless) in K1 (I think, it may have been K2) that the Rakatans invented the hyperspace drive.
Jae Onasi
If you're GMing your own RP, it's your story. If he doesn't like it, he doesn't have to play. Besides, it's not like there's never been canon contradictions before.

Sabretooth
Meh. The Rakatan History is full of odd dates, timelines and years. Honestly it makes my brain hurt to think about it. I just try not to think of it. BioWare opened up a new avenue for exploration by suggesting the Rakatan theory. I hope somebody starts filling up that void... The Doctor
^ I'm trying to do that, but this guy is saying that I'm just causing problems with the time line.
Emperor Devon
I think so. One of the loading screen hints says "It was believed hyperspace travel was introduced to the galaxy by an advanced race long extinct." The Rakata were an advanced race, and they were believed to be extinct.
