What if...?

This is something I have thought about recently:

You all know the story of starwars, from Episode 1 to Episode 6.

The most important character (or one of the most) is Anakin Skywalker.

Now my question is, what would have happened, if Quigon was able to force persuade that trader on Tantoine (forgot his name) to accept republic credits?

That way, he would never have discovered that Anakin is force sensitive, as he would not have relied on Anakin for their space cruiser. And why bother with one nice slave, when there are so many you cannot save?

Anakin would have never become a Jedi, thus never ending up working for Palpatine.

But another thing: What about that battle on naboo? it was anakin who destroyed that one important ship which made the gungan army win...

Would the naboo have lost the planet? What would have happened next?

Would Palpatine be able to become chancellor (spelling?)?

Would he be able to wipe the Jedi out, without the help of Anakin? What Count Dooku one day betray Palpatine?

Would Obi wan have survived the clon wars? (presumably not, but then again, he might have taken another padawan who saves his life lol)

Ah, the possibilities...

What do you guys think?

Well, as the Jedi always say, there is no such thing as luck. You could debate it until everyone was blue in the face, but if we are to believe all that is said of the Force, then Qui-gon finding Anakin was predestined, and there was no alternative.

I think there'd be some unemployed actors and Lucas would be a lot poorer. :)

what if qui-gon had been able to persuade watto to let anakin's mother come along as well and getting a nice cousey appartment in the jedi temple? :p

after all maybe she had the highest midichlorian count ever, but she was never to discover her true potential....

Darth Mumar (mrs skywalker) "I am your mother luke, search your feelings... you know it to be true" hehe ;) what if......

It could never happen that way. Anakin was destined to meet Qui-Gon and leave Tatooine to become a Jedi. So you can't really say what if it happened differently. That's just how Star Wars is.

(flips some pages) Yep, that's what the script says. :)

Yes, Anakin's destiny was determined by the allpowerful Movie Director!! (Scary voice)

I think the right question is what would have happened if the Toydarians (the traders, Watto's, species) have evolved differently and thus not become resistant to Jedi Mind Tricks?

Quote:

Watto: No, they won't-a. What? You think you're some kind of Jedi, waving your hand around like that? I'm a Toydarian, mind tricks don't work on me. Only money. No money, no parts, no deal!

Since he's the only Junk-dealer around the place with the apopriate engine parts, Qui-Gon can't go nowhere else. And this junk dealer is immune for force-powers...

So it Anakin is their only way of the planet. With a reason. Has nothing to do with persuading :)

Oh, I didnt even think about that!! Just imagine, the impact on other movies!

Harrison Ford would have never become that famous, probably there would be no Indiana Jones like we know a long with a lot of other movies.

Having no Indiana Jones, would probably have changed Steven Spielberghs career as well. ...
