RedHawke
I'm an RPG and RTS fan, though I do like my FPS Multiplayer games too.
lukeiamyourdad
I don't really understand people who are afraid of MMORPGs. I'm a WoW player, but life>gaming. I suppose I lost that addictive tendency a while back. One thing though, keep staying away if you feel you might get sucked up. Less bad publicity for us MMO players if you don't end up dead in your diapers because you played an MMO for endless hours I love pretty much all types of games bar adventure ones and simulations like the Sims. I used to be an avid FPS player in the past, but whatever I feel like at the moment, I come back to my good old RTS games Megalomania FTW!
Diego Varen
This Poll should have been Multiple Choice. Anyway, I like all sorts of Game Genres. This includes RPGs and FPS, but I voted Fighting Games, because most of the Games I play have fights in them.
JediKnight707
This is hard for me because I love every type of game. Except for games like "Let's Count Sand" I pretty much enjoy every type of game. I love Counter-Strike and Day of Defeat (hell, just Steam in general), I love C&C Generals, I love the Madden Series, I love Guild Wars, I love KotOR, I love the old Street Fighter games for a little remembering, I love to play Risk (for some odd reason, I don't know why), so I don't know what to choose!!!!! For now, I'll choose FPS 'cause CS tops all games that I just mentioned IMO.
Commander Obi-Wan
I like most of the game genres. But, I've recently playing RTS and Sports games.
Sabretooth
I like good RPG games, if they're good, that is. I can't stand a bad one, or one that makes me lose interest. FPS games are great, too. I love playing FPS, but I normally don't buy FPS games myself, I prefer to borrow them. That's coz they normally have poor replayability value. Strategy is my current favourite, but I keep jumping around these three.
Bob Lion54
RPGs by far. I also like a good Space Flight Sim. One of my favourite games of all time is Tachyon: The Fringe. Sadly, there are not many good ones out there anymore. I recently began playing MMOs. They really are just RPGs with a lot of people. WoW is great and I love Dungeons and Dragons Online (DDO). For those of you that want to try an MMO but are afraid, you should try DDO. Its got a really good community. The one big negative of the game is its lack of content. This may sound bad for veteran MMOers, but its great for the casual players. The game takes flack from people wanting it to be a D&D version of WoW. Thats not the focus of the game. It's made for people with a job. A few hours a week is all you really need to play to enjoy the game. If you only want to play on weekends or a few hours a day, this is the perfect MMO for you. I like WoW, but it does take a lot of time to get anything done. Af far as the money thing. It's $15 a month for all MMOs as far as I know. (Guild Wars is the only free one of note) Thats a whole month for the price of a CD. It cheaper than two movie tickets, going out to diner, gas, ext. Its not that expensive when you look at all the other ways you can spend your money on entertainment. By the way, DDO has a free 7 day trial. If you want to try it out but don't want to spend any money, check it out at the official web site. http://www.DDO.com . I play on Arenal. Send me a PM if you want and maybe we could met up in game sometime. I'd love to play with some of my LF buddies!
Delta_Folee
I enjoy MMORPGs simply because you can play with your friends and have fun and chat while roleplaying. It's that simple. I see you have never heard of Runescape, ans MMORPG that is totally free and is in fact what I play.
Mace MacLeod
I also like a good Space Flight Sim. One of my favourite games of all time is Tachyon: The Fringe. Sadly, there are not many good ones out there anymore. Kewl. Another tach-head. That was the only game where I really got involved in the online gaming clan thing. Man, that was years ago. There have never been any multiplayer gaming moments that for me have compared to the excitement and satisfaction of sinking the winning Helios rockets into GalSpan's LS generator for the upteenth time. I knew that things were getting stale when I logged on using my clan name (or a much-feared alias) and people would just go dead in space and not even bother to fight back when I came at them. *sigh* Memories of uberness... The KotOR games are the only real RP games that I played much, although I did have Diablo for a while. I guess you could lump Deux Ex in as an RPG not an FPS, though. FPS games (and third-person shooters like Max Payne) have always been my favourites, far and away. Doom, Blood2, Serious Sam, JO, JA, Star Trek Elite Force, the Half-Life series, I even liked C&C Renegade. The first Hitman game was hard as hell, but great. The sequels (haven't got the newest one yet) really lower the bar IMHO. Space shooters are probably my #2, with Tachyon, Jumpgate, Starlancer, Freelancer, Freespace2 and who-knows-how-many arcade games all in there. In the RTS camp, Dungeon Keeper2 and the Homeworld series will always have a special place on my hard drive. Never really have gotten into the MMORPG games--tachyon really soured me on interacting with actual humans in the gaming context. NEVER EVER AGAIN will I get involved in gaming politics. When I moved to JumpGate, I was a total hermit. As for sports games, yawn. If I don't want to watch a real baseball game, why would I want to play one on a computer? psand
Without a doubt, the rpg is for me. I love the Kotor games and the Morrowind games as well. The mmo games like Star Wars Galaxies are awesome just cant spend the time I want to playing them. I am hooked on the rpg genre for sure!
Alegis
Well, I've been playing FPS for the longest time and started out with that. A year or two ago got interested in RPGs, MMORPG trials and eventually total dedication to WoW. Now I resorted to RTS. Either moving back to FPS or WoW soon. In the long run, FPS. CountVerilucus
you guys should play EVE online, its pretty fun. One of the top rated MMORPG's. Might even be better than WoW
Jeremia Skywalk
I like usual RPG's the most right now, i used to play MMO's something like two months before and they are not all that addicting (at least for me), but now everytime i turn any MMO in i want to bash my computer, so bored i am of them. I also like to play an action now and than for exchange but never sports and rarely racing. By the way. If you play MMO, remember there are such thing as private servers. Pho3nix
I'd say FPS. Even though I like other genres too like RPG and MMORPG.
