mimartin
Where are the Bear fans? I thought by now you all would have been crowing all about the victory. I thought Grossman played a very good game. He went 21/38 for 282 yards with one touchdown and one interception (not his fault) and one fumble. I was really impressed that he didn’t throw the ball up for grabs in the third quarter when Bernard had him around the ankles. He wanted to, but didn’t. I think that was his best play of the day This was a very good weekend for games. Three games decided by a field goal. I can’t wait was next weekend. The Colts get their old nemesis New England. This is the reason they signed Vinatieri. I will be rooting for the Colts. I’m tired of hearing how Peyton Manning is over rated just because he hasn’t won the big one. I remember hearing the same thing about John Elway. They were wrong about Elway and they are wrong about Manning. The Saints are one game from the Super Bowl. Now that is extremely strange sounding. I guess there is hope for the Texans to get into that position within the next 40 years. I don’t like the Saints chances in Chicago, but stranger things have happen (ask a Cowboy fan). A southern, domed teams usually doesn’t fare too well in the northern elements in January. Sorry Chicago fans, but I’m rooting for New Orleans here (with my gift of choosing the losers you should be thankful). I want it rubbed in the Texans face that they could have picked Reggie instead of Mario.
Jae Onasi
We had a 7 hour drive today coming back from MN, and we just got home not too long ago. Woohoo, Bears! Ever try to drive while listening to an exciting game on the radio? I'm sure Jimbo wanted to take the wheel from me at some point as I alternately groaned and cheered while banging my hand on the steering wheel in frustration or excitement. Titanius Anglesmith
One word to describe how I feel right now...crap. I'm sick of the Patriots, and here they are back in another AFC championship. I'm really gonna be pullin for the Colts next week, although I doubt they have much of a shot. Taos
Tough weekend for my teams [seahawks/Ravens]. That's how it goes though. Gotta give Indy and Chicago some credit. The championship games should be fun to watch! I'm picking N.O. and N.E.

Jeff
I wasn't very happy to see the Chargers go down, there goes my superbowl pick. I'll be rooting for Indy now, though they don't deserve it with a defense as bad as theirs. If NE wins then I'll root for the NFC, I despise the Patriots. Rogue Nine
I dunno about that, Moel. Indy's defense has tightened up where it counts. In the playoffs, they've been all but lights-out. The question is, can they do it against the Pats? And NO is the sentimental pick, so I'll have to go with them. Brees, Colston, McAllister and Bush should be fun to watch against that vaunted Bears D.
Commander Obi-Wan
I'd put my money on the New Orleans Saints to defeat the Bears. The offense is damn awesome. We'll just have to see how well Grossman preforms. I would also pick the Patriots to beat the Colts. Eh, the Pats beat the favoured Chargers, and that victory game rather unexpected. Plus, Indy's last game was all field goals. Viniteri scored all of Indy's points. So, I think Pats have it in the bag. The championship games should be fun to watch! I'm picking N.O. and N.E. I think they have a good chance for victory since the game is at home. If it was at NE, I doubt they would have a chance.
Cygnus Q'ol
I could go for a rematch of Superbowl 20, especially if the Bears win again. Wouldn't mind seeing that myself. Alexander was a beast and impossible to bring down. Deuce is a big boy too and he's fast. They'll have their hands full with him and Bush. Colston killed the Eagles D-backs and Brees looks better than ever. That coach has them playing very well. HOWEVER, I like the Bear's chances in this game. The work ethic instilled since Lovie arrived has taken them to this point. During the bye week, they went back to pads and training camp schedule and style. They got back to fundamentals and that fresh start mind frame. ...and it showed. They went up against an experienced, smart, physical team with an established winning head coach. They took on reigning NFC champs and stole one. It was a thing of heart wrenching beauty, if there is such a thing. Now the glass cleat is on the other foot. The young and very talented, upstart Saints now come into Soldier, and the force is with them. This will be the test. Stopping the run is a pipe dream, but slowing it and altering it is possible. Brees has been on fire, but no quarterback can throw fron his backside. Pressure and turnovers will probably determine the outcome. Special teams and field position will be key factors. All will be decided up front. Love to Kreutz and the big boys. GO BEARS

mimartin
What kind of cookies are we talking about? I find it very interesting you're both taking the Saints. I’d be very happy if that happens and although I’m rooting for the Saints, being realist, they will not make the Super Bowl. After all they’re still the Saints. They’ve only won to playoff games in their history. The same Saints that were the worst expansion team ever (until the Texans over took them for that dishonor). Remember the Aints? My prediction is Colts 28 Bears 26. Benson is stopped short on the two point conversion with seconds left.

Why not pick them? They have gotten this far, and it seems that they are no longer the worst expansion team by the way they have been playing up to date. Well, firstly, the Saints started off the season by picking Reggie Bush (which is quite clearly the worst decision the Texans could have made up to this point). Secondly, the Saints have a winning season, with a offense that amongst the best with Brees,Bush, McAllister, Colston, and Holt. It would just work out perfectly if they won the Superbowl after such a wonderful season. Just in like a many sports, any team that makes the playoffs have a chance to win it all. Cygnus Q'ol
I'll see your cookie and raise you 3. When it comes down to it, you know, down to the nitty gritty, I usually find that preparation, experience and desire have more of an impact than other factors at this time of year. Can this trend continue? We'll see. New England is a team that doesn't get rattled. They also have been here before, many times. Belichek is a master at taking away a team's best threat. ...and what else can you say about Tom Brady that hasn't been said? He's a winner. Who has been Peyton's nemesis in past playoff choke sessions? The Patriots. This game will be played in Indy this time though, and the Colts defense is a bit better than before. This will prove to be a great matchup come Sunday. Even though I like Dungy and his philosophy, I give the not to the experienced Patriots once again. ...and in this corner! The Bears will find a way to win this game. That being said, there very well could be a repeat of a previous battle that took place a few decades ago. I'm definatley not opposed to history repeating itself. ...no matter how unlikely. Anything is possible and anyone can beat anyone on any given Sunday. Just look at the Colt vs. Texans game. I'm rooting for the Saints, its just growing up in the south; I am realist when it comes to a domed southern team playing outside in January (Oilers vs Pittsburg back in the luv you blue days of Earl Campbell). mimartin
Poor Cowboy fans, the Tuna is gone. Too much T.O.? My prediction is Colts 28 Bears 26. Benson is stopped short on the two point conversion with seconds left. I got really lucky and both the Colts and the Bears won. I’m going to stick with my original prediction, but after watching the Bears’ defense come out of hibernation yesterday I’m not feeling overly confident about it. I thought Luvie Smith was brilliant yesterday. When I saw Benson in there instead of Jones I thought he was an idiot, but he used Benson to pound on the defensive line. Then brought in a fresh Jones, and 123 yards later and the Bears are headed for Miami. I just hope everyone has a good game and the Super Bowl comes down to one play at the end of the game. Commander Obi-Wan
Dang, mimartin, you were right. Bah, both of my decisions were wrong. Well, some much for that. My predictions always seem to be the opposite of what I say. So, I'm going to choose the Bears to win the game since I want to the Colts to win it. I like them both, though. But, I like the Colts more.
Jeff
I'm not a bears fan at all and I like the colts pretty well so I'm rooting for them. I don't have an official pick though, the game could go either way. I think a lot of it depends on which defense shows up for Indianapolis, and which side of Grossman shows up for Chicago.
