Twytch
Hey all. I'm not really sure if this has been pointed out before, but post-Brainwash Revan acts really... Well, he's... He acts like a 10 year old most of the time during the game. Whether it's choosing a Jedi class, or answering questions, some of the other dialouge choices seem to come from a pre-teen. "I want to be a Jedi *Whatever*!!!" Bastila - What planet are you from? "Kashyyyk! I'm a Wookiee, can't you tell?" Bastila - How old are you? "*Huge Number*. Healthy Living, you know." Bastila - What is your Alliance? (Or something like that) "Neither. I'm a Hutt in disguise plotting to destroy the Republic!" I know it's not impossible for Revan to just have a sense of Humor. After all, he permanatly made HK-47 call Malak and everyone else Meat-bags, but it appears so much in the game that it's a little awkward. But, I guess saying "I'll be going now" whenever you walk away from someone is too. I'm not a physciatrist, but it seems like Revan might've reverted back to child-hood, or at least early teenage years of his life, that he never had because of Jedi Training. After all, the Council couldn't have done a complete Extreme Makeover to his mind, which would take hours even with the Force! Anyway, I guess the point of this topic is, What do you think of having a main character who, unlike past Expanded Universe PCs such as Kyle Katarn, Mara Jade, and anyone else I forgot, acts alot like a kid? Diego Varen
It's just humour. Nothing to worry about. I mean, look at Han Solo, Kyle Katarn, Mara Jade and Jolee Bindo.
Emperor Devon
As I recall, the immature phrases were optional. It's up to the player whether they want to act ten or twenty.
Lantzen
Well, its your choice to choose if you want Revan to be mature or not, if you dont choose the dialougs then he wont be a inmature teenage Edit: Damm, Devon posted the same thing one minute before me
RC-1162
well, i agree up to a point. do you remember Dorak asking you what class you wanted to be? i got royally pissed with the kiddish responses: "I want to be a Jedi *class*" why dont they add a "Pleeeeeeeeez!" after it? Emperor Devon
That's what modding is for, RC. I took that silly exclamation point away from Dorak's dialogue long ago!

He acts like a 10 year old most of the time during the game. Whether it's choosing a Jedi class, or answering questions, some of the other dialouge choices seem to come from a pre-teen. Well, the <PlayerName> personality is only roughly a month old, so I'd say that's pretty mature for someone whose mind is only a month old. I found the whole Bastila "romance" branch to be the most immaturity-enabled part of the game, where you can essentially act like a 13 year old with a crush if you choose to, and she'll just put up with it. A female Revan can joke around with Carth as well, but most of those options didn't feel anywhere near as immature as the Male Revan vs. Bastila options. Might be an attempt to get Bastila to loosen up, but a rather odd way to go about it. Might be as you say, since the Jedi of the period were not allowed to be emotional or love someone the "first crush" behavior surfaced when they eventually did so anyway. Not an area most Jedi would be very experienced in I'd guess...
Emperor Devon
The romance with Bastila can still progress and end successfuly without picking the 13 year old options. I think it even adds to the story, especially at the temple summit and the Star Forge.
Maverick5770
I didn't think that Revan was all that immature. It does bug me in both games the way you end a conversation with either "Never Mind" or "I'll be Going Now" And the more immature ways to get Bastila to kiss you, didn't really seem that immature, more like a very futile way to get anyones affection. Vaelastraz
Immature? Especially the dialoge you quoted isn't immature. That is what I call humour. I know I know...characters should drop dead serious, after all DARTH MALAK is threatening the galaxy, but it's ok to have some fun you know... Just imagine a cynical sarcastic voice in your head instead of a high ridiculous 13-year-old voice.
Inyri
I always got a vibe off Revan like he was a little bit of a trouble maker, like the "immature" lines, especially in the Bastila romance, were there for exactly the response you get -- to make her squirm. Perhaps it's a little of the dark side left in him, wanting to make her as miserable as possible .
TheGreenGoblin
Jolee himself said that Revan sometimes seems much older than he is and at other times a lot younger.
Totenkopf
I also always figured some of those lines to be heavily steeped in sarcasm, which is something that usually doesn't go well with someone on the receiving end. Perhaps Revan's original personality is the "naughty bad boy" type, as most people who are stiff by nature don't tend to be charismatic. Seems the Revan-Bastilla romance is a little more fun than the Carth-Revan one (though Carth does try to inject a little levity). Different strokes for different folks I guess. Jediphile
Revan is our character. He's whatever we decide he - or even she - will be. If we think of him (I play and think of Revan as male) as a troublemaker, then he is one. If we play him as childish, then he is. I always played him as an "old soul" in spite of the "young age" of his new personality - like he may not remember his past, but still feels it and expresses it towards others. Like a sad young character with experience and insight beyond his years. The point of Revan's player-decided personality is also underscored in KotOR2, where Kreia suggests the idea that maybe Revan never fell but sacrificed himself to prevent a greater evil. Did he? Your choice...

I think it even adds to the story, especially at the temple summit and the Star Forge. It seems more of a romance to me, if Revan acted seriously. I don't play as an immature Revan. I normally play as serious and respectful. And does anyone know the canonical way Revan acted towards Bastila in this romance story? Respectful or humorous? Wookieepedia won't tell me anything! Delta-1207
I don't play as an immature Revan. I normally play as serious and respectful. As do I. However, I just love frustating Bastila. I don´t really know why, but I really like the way she reacts.
Totenkopf
Yeah, I think that's why the Rev_Bast one is more fun. Watching her get flustered is more entertaining. And really, since when is a little levity such an immature thing. No one I know goes through life being "oh so serious" 24/7. We'd all be robots (w/o the personality of HK47 or even Bender from that space cartoon that escapes me at the moment).
Liit Orda
Bender from that space cartoon that escapes me at the moment. Futurama. I liked Revan respectful, yet flirtatious...

Anglu
*gg* yes, HK-47 reminds me of Bender, too. And I don't think Revan is childish. I usually play her as a nice woman in her early twenties with a sense of humor... just as I am. Well, now I try a male game.
playloud
I think it fits in Star Wars. Han made a lot of childish comments.
Anglu
yeah, for example. Just as Jack O'Neill does in Stargate SG1. I love that.
