jedijones Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 I was reading on the star wars wiki when I came across Captain Panaka's entry( He was the leader of the Naboo royal guard in Episode One - he had a fairly large role in the movie.) It only turns out that after the Battle of Naboo he passed info to Palpatine on Padme's and Anakin relationship,(which helped Palpatine turn Anakin to the dark side) and then became a Moff possily due to a hatred of aliens. Your thoughts please http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Captain_Panaka#Behind_the_scenes
Diego Varen Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 I read that too, but it could be false information. Wookieepedia/Wikipedia isn't the most reliable source for SW info.
TSR Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 I lost my smelling senses in a tragic accident involving a spork and a walnut. interesting stuff.
MagnaGuard Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 The Chronilogical History of the Star Wars Galaxy book says that somebody gave the info to Palpatine, but I can't recall if it was Panaka or somebody else.
jedijones Posted October 10, 2006 Author Posted October 10, 2006 Ok, wikipedia article says that the Episode III visual guide says that Panaka told Palpatine of Anakins and Padmes marriage, and that he may have been a spy for the Emperor, and that he was killed by Vader. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Star_Wars_Old_Republic_characters#Captain_Panaka
The Doctor Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 A wikipedia article can hardly be used to prove or disprove another wikipedia article.
Darth_Terros Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Well i can confirm it on page 20 of the Revenge of the sith visual dictionary in the data file section it says "Captain Panaka, former head of security for Queen Amidala, gave Palpatine information regarding Anakin and Padmes's secret marriage"

What about the human supremist claim? any proof? Personally I would understand why he would hate non-humans, I would do so too if I were to meet hero JarJar ever. I mean, everyone would want to se JarJar "become an hero", ipod or not ipod.
Darth_Terros Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 it says exactly what i put no mention of the other parts
jedijones Posted October 11, 2006 Author Posted October 11, 2006 I can see why Panaka would hate Jar Jar. Jar Jar becomes big hero and politician and Panaka gets nothing, not even a cameo in Episode II or III. In the visual dictionary, did it mention his becoming a moff?

I doubt Panaka was bothered by Jar Jar becoming a politician, he was probably dispatched at some point after the purge due to the Empires humanocentrism anyway, and Panaka certainly wasn't aware of whether or not he appeared in episodes II or III.
RC-1162 Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 rofl! he might have been sipping champagne on Naboo, who knows?

igyman Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Panaka a traitor? I mean, like... WTF??? Now, I'm really disappointed.
Darth Macca Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 His character just seemed rather moody and pale. No great loss. Ergo, he was a moody wanker.
MagnaGuard Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 He didn't seem moody to me. No wait...he was moody in certain parts of the movie.
