Hayden Kered
I was wondering if any one knew what Darth Bane's true blade color was? There are several different sources but each with 2 different colors. Jedi VS Sith/3 of 4/Cover/Color: Purple Jedi VS Sith/Inside Comics/Color: Red Darth Bane Path of Destruction/Color: Red Star Wars Minitures/COTF/#10/Color: Purple Pic of Darth Bane on Dxun/Color:Purple Pic of Darth Bane in his orbalisk armor/Color: Purple Star Wars Galaxies/Bane's Heart/Color: Purple Seeing how the majority is purple, then it must be. But which source would be a more official cannon?
Prime
I'd say stick with red.
Mav
I remember reading somewhere that it was a "Blood Red", type color, I'm far from an expert though...
Hayden Kered
I figured that the color would stick to the sith tradition of a red blade.
RC-1162
well, purple is technically a mix of blue and red, so both ways, red is included. i'd say stick with red.
Emperor Devon
I say red. Sith just don't feel like Sith without it.

Emperor Devon
Yeah, Anakin didn't look like a real Sith in Episode III.
Shem
If you asked George Lucas, he would say red. With every Sith Lord, assume it's red unless stated otherwise by someone in authority over it.
Balderdash
Did the novel come out before the comics? I'm pretty sure it did. If it did, then I'd say red as well. I've never read it myself though, just the comics.
Diego Varen
Perhaps Bane has both a Purple Lightsaber and a Red Lightsaber. Although I'd say Red, unless he was like Anakin in ROTS.
ChAiNz.2da
I thought the only purple saber was owned by the one and only BMF? I didn't think there was a 'canon' color purple (other than the obvious Sam "Mace" Jackson)... However, admittingly.. I'm not very educated much beyond the games and movies. I'm utterly dense when it comes to the novels
TSR
Same here Astro, the only book i've read is EPIII... Although, werent there a couple of EU jedi that have purple as well?

I didn't think there was a 'canon' color purple (other than the obvious Sam "Mace" Jackson)... Once it appeared on-screen it is Canon! So Purple sabers for everybody! [A. Powers] Yeah baby! Yeah! Hayden Kered
I wanted to wait untill I finished reading the novel to bring this up, After Bane's defeat over Sirak, the Blademaster Kas'im presented Bane with the lightsaber (which was a curved hilt) that belonged to his master, a Sith named Na'daz. This sabers blade was red. Afterwards, Qordis presented Bane with a synth-crystal. Not much was described about this crystal, and it was never brought up again in the book. Maybe this is a possibility to Bane having both color blades, and possibly the source of the Bane's Heart crystal.
