I am a little concerned that no one has started this thread yet, so I guess that I will take the initiative.

James Brown, the Godfather of Soul, past away Christmas Day. He was a legend and super talented showman. He will be greatly missed.

I heard about James' death on Christmas Day (It's very sad that he passed away on Christmas Day). I've never listened to his music, except for "I feel Good" and he was very good.

RIP James Brown, Godfather of Soul

RIP, JB.

Rule of 3 strikes again (3 celebs in short order.....Boyle, Brown and Ford. Damn, that almost sounds like a law firm, no disrespect intended to the deceased...).

RIP James Brown.

On the 26th, the day after Christmas, I brought my DVD Rocky IV to my second job for break time. It was a tribute to a great character and to a great singer. We had our private dance tribute to the song Livin' in America for James Brown.

It saddens me, but after all of that cocaine that he did I can't believe that he he lived this long. The great music (which I love) that he left behind has made him immortal, though.

BTW: He was also known (quite accurately) as the Grandfather of Funk.
