Rexraptor2000
And a corrupt official wasn't Hoshiko's idea of a proper mayor, either. She scowled slightly at the thought of both both Wolf and the mayor, then nodded. "Sure," she said. She wasn't exactly sure what the plan was, but whatever it was, she was in. Toa smiled at her and said "Good." Then he turned to Akira and asked "What do you need us to do? Meteor showers are nice, although I don't think that the town will appreciate being destroyed. A fire dragon would be a nice display though. I think a fire dragon fighting a thunder dragon would be great display. What do you think, Hoshiko?" Master_Archon
"Hey, Xan!" Katsuro greeted cheerfully, out of nowhere. Then, he darted away again, leaving his mother and the guard staring at each other. Takara cleared her throat a little, taking a step forward. "You, uh..." she began, her words faltering a little. "How... how has your morning been?" She seemed anxious to Xan, apprehensive in the least. Xan only smile under his helmet, his words grew from sullen to cheerful in a matter of moments. "Nice to see you," he said kindly, but before anything further occured, a strange gangly man approached. "Oh, Kai think's this man's morning was quite well, until he had a run in with the wolf. Now Kai is pretty sure that this man is in need of a boxing partner, or this man is going to lose this man's armor. Hmmmm, Kai is right is he not, this man?" He pointed to Xan, and then looked at the woman a moment. "Kai think's that perhaps this woman would make a good boxing partner for this man, no? Would this woman like to get her fisticuff's out and show the wolf and the wolf's son a thing or two about fighting? Hmm, perhaps this woman is the greatest fighter that this city has ever had? Hmmm, probably not, I think that perhaps this man would instead accept Kai's offer to join this man in the ring. Kai is good with his fist's, and Kai has had a squabble with the wolf's son over a pleasant young lady who Kai has taken a fancy too. What does this man say? Would he like Kai to pummel the wolf and the wolf's son with him? Hmmm?" Xan didn't like the interuption from this man, as he was speaking to Takara, of all people he favored. But as the man's odd third person self-conversation continued, Xan's mood changed, and by the time man was done, Xan was almost smiling, almost. "Well, Takara could take care of herself, I recon, but I'd rather not put the fair lady in any further danger than needed, and not to seem rude Takara, but you don't seem to be the one to throw punches," he said to her in all kindness. Xan looked the gangly man over once more, he was odd indeed, but he was missing an eye. Xan felt a pang of guilt hit him, he felt this man wasn't just a street riff-raff, he seemed the type who had lived his life surviving in any way he could. Xan smirked, this man was no bumpkin either, "alright...Kai can fight with Xan, to kick the living tar out of Wolf and his...son, if you could call it that," Xan muttered. "I'll let you take on his son, as long as I get, 'The Wolf', to myself...deal?" Xan asked, reaching a strong, heavy, metal clad hand out towards Kai. ((Sorry Jason, first come, first serve.)) 3yks
Kai peered at the hand for a moment, considering it, then clasping it in his own hand. "Kai thinks this man, Xan, has strange armor, but Kai accepts this offer, Kai will fight the wolf's son, and Xan will fight the wolf," Kai bowed to Xan, and then to his femal companion. "Kai will let this Xan talk to this woman and will meet this Xan at the arena of this Xan and this Kai's fight with the wolf and the wolf's son." Kai defiantly had a strange way of talking, he smiled, a broad friendly grin, then turned around and jogged off toward the stage, he watched as several men worked on turning the stage from a stage into an arena. Kai was minding his own buisness, watching this, when he sensed a presence behind him, he shifted right and the foot that had been aimed at this back missed, and the wolf's son stumbled forward as his foot met no resistance. "Kai will fight you soon, son of the wolf, but Kai does not take kindly to the wolf's son trying to kick Kai while Kai is simply watching. Kai will take even more pleasure in making the wolf's feel pain." Kai winked at him, which was very odd from a man with only one eye, more like blinking one supposed. "What are you talking about!" "Kai will join Xan in the boxing match, and Kai's fists will make the wolf's son's teeth fall out." He chuckled to himself, and the wolf's growled softly. "We will see about that, you lunatic!" Kai watched the wolf's son wander away, and then began tapping a tune on his knee's absently.
Jason Skywalker
"Well, i think that's a great idea;" Akira told them when he started hearing a boxing match would go on between Wolf and his son, Crispin or so he'd been told against Xan and some guy named Kai. "Well, that i got to see!" He told the citizen who told him.
Rogue Nine
Tellis finished up her breakfast, thanked Renn, then exited the Smoking Dragon. The square had begun to fill with townsfolk, meaning market day was fast approaching. She quickly made her way across the broad thoroughfare and back to the Wavering Wind. Slipping in through her hidden entrance, she ascended the stairs and entered the room at the top. Nothing had changed from the night before, she noted. Tellis moved across the room and dragged the chair to the open window. Taking a seat, she trained her eyes on the increasingly busy square below. She stared at nothing in particular at first, her eyes glassy. As the sun continued to rise, they became increasingly alert, darting back and forth; observing, following, watching. Just as the sun fixed itself in the middle of the daytime sky, the door behind Tellis opened up and admitted someone. Without turning around, Tellis said, "It's not like you to run off like that." "I was a little spooked, okay?" came the shaky reply. Tellis turned her head to peer at the speaker with one grey eye. "You seemed so," she intoned evenly. "By that ranger, Carwyn Stormchild." "Well, isn't it obvious?" Chryseis Stormchild retorted as she moved over to the dresser and started pulling out clothes and stuffing them into a bag. "I take it you didn't expect to see him," Tellis stated, her voice silky. "Of course I didn't," Chrys snapped in reply. "I left him and my homeland a long time ago." "But you went to confront him at the docks this morning." Chrys looked up at Tellis, who was still seated and not quite facing her. "Have I ever told you it's really annoying that you know everything?" Tellis allowed a small smile to crease her lips. "I do not know everything, Chrys. For instance, I have no idea where you were last night." "Doctor Waverly got a runner who told him that he was needed back at the clinic right away," Chrys replied. "So I had to run back there with him." "And you came back?" Chrys looked as if she was in pain. "Yes, against my better judgement, I did." She frowned darkly. "Had to tell my idiot brother to stay away." "Ah. I thought you might have." Tellis turned to face Chrys directly. "Might I ask where you are planning on going?" "Away from here," Chrys replied, tying up the bag and slinging it over her shoulder. "I lost almost all of my group last night, thanks to my brother and that band of warriors he was with. We need to regroup." "I see." Tellis blinked slowly. "What do you think your master is after?" Chrys snorted. "Like he'd tell me. I just do what I'm told." "Doctor Waverly will be highly disappointed that you have left." "Probably, but I'm sure you'll let him down easy." Chrys sighed mightily, then approached Tellis. "It was nice working with you, Tel." She held out her hand. Tellis was on her feet before Chrys could move, her perfect face inches from the younger woman's battered one. "No need to be so formal, Chryseis." Her voice was husky. Chrys blushed furiously as she took a step back. "It was one night," she breathed. "And you took advantage of me." Tellis' tongue darted out and ran over her lower lip. "You did not say no." Chrys said nothing to this and moved to the door. Opening it, she stopped and turned around to look at Tellis one last time. "I'll see you around, Tel," she said, then was gone, the door creaking closed in the wake of her disappearance. Tellis turned back to the window. "I will make sure of that, dear Chryseis," she said quietly.
Master_Archon
Xan stared after the weird man who walked off towards the stage. In a way, he was glad he had approached him, that way he he didn't have to waste time looking, and it gave him an opportunity to talk to Takara before the match. "Well," said Xan turning his gaze back towards Takara. "My morning's been...full," he said, answering Takara's question from earlier. Xan smiled as he looked at her, the magic's effects were still working, and he was glad he could see her shining face among such a sullen and dull crowd. "I have to have a boxing match with a pompous guy named, Wolf. I have to be there in five minutes, which will be enough time for me to get this armor off," said Xan cheerily. He thought on this a moment, "or not, seeing as it takes twelve or fifteen minutes just to take it off..." he stated, sighing in resignation. Xan pondered for a moment, "say, you don't mind if you help me peel this armor off, do you? It takes quite awhile alone, and I just don't have the time. I'd appretiate the help...." Xan cringed at what he just said, he had just sounded like such a weirdo, in the least. Though it was true, having someone help him take all his armor off would take a whole lot less time. "Erm...that is, um, I have clothes on underneath, so, um, you don't have to worry about me pulling anything...er, not that I would....um, or you could have your son help me," he said in a final exasperated resolve. 'Boy, I am such an ijit!' He thought to himself, and he was sure glad she couldn't see his face, because he was quite embarrassed.
Grace
An amused smile lit up Takara's face at Xan's discomfort and she nodded. "I would be happy to help you with your armor," she said warmly. "And Katsuro and I will be watching you win the match." As if on cue, the boy ran forward. "I'll help with the armor too!" he announced. Takara shot him an odd glance that was a mix of caution and amusement. "He has very good ears," Takara explained to Xan, as if she thought some sort of explanation were necessary. He bowed slightly to the two, being polite, indicating for them to go ahead and lead the way to a less conspicuous spot.
ForceFightWMe12
Kyo nodded his gratitude to Aya, taking the key from her fingers. Moving back over to the old woman, he likewise held the coin out to her. Her hand flashed out, and she snatched the trinket from him. "Ahhhhhh hahahahaha..." she cackled, rocking back and forth. Grabbing the puzzle from the table top. Flipping it to the right side of the cylander, the woman pressed her own coin into the carved slot for it, a small spindle sliding into the hole in the center; it fit perfectly. Turning it over again, she did the same with Aya's key to the other side. Once finished with that, she tossed it to Kyo, who caught it. "The translation will guide you." she said, watching him. Kyo looked at the puzzle and spun the peices, testing the peices. He could freely spin the wheels of letters, and every few seconds there was a click - the tumblers were working. He smiled. "Thank you. That's all I needed." Kyo said, turning around and heading for the door. "Hold it!" the woman was in front of him in a second, blocking the door. "We must speak." "Speak?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. "Yes, yes, speak!" the woman barked, grabbing Kyo's hand and dragging him back inside. She did the same to Aya. "Both halves are here now!" "Halves?" Kyo asked uncertainly. "Halves! Now we can continue this conversation, or we can repeate everthing I say in question form." she glared at him until he locked his jaw obediantly. "Halves of the Prophecy, boy! Two halves are here...but there are more out there. Another three. They're not here. They're not needed yet." The swordsman smirked faintlly at the woman. More than two halves, huh? "Earth, Wind, Spirit, Fire, Water..." she murmured, peering from Kyo to Aya and back again. "Earth, Wind, Spirit, Fire...I believe you've yet to find Water." "'Find' water?" She nodded solemnly. "Find Water." "Earth, Wind, Spirit, Fire, Water...these are...people?" he raised his eyebrow. Was she crazy? Well, actually that was a given. No questions there. "Yes, yes, yes, you fool! You know nothing, do you??" she sighed in annoyance. "How can you not?? You've already met a weilder of Fire, have you not? You've already met a weilder of Wind, have you not?" "I have." "And you've met the weilder of Spirit." Kyo's other eyebrow shot up. "I have?" "She stands next to you, fool." The swordsman, his eyes wide with surprise, looked to Aya. "You have spiritual powers?"
Darth_Velrogh
Istergard dropped out of his little world and turned to Bora Cho. He was looking at a meeting of some sort. There was a crowd surrounding a big stage. And on the so called stage was Xan, the guard that had protected the caravan. In the middle of the crowd was a woman and her son that caught his attention, he didn't knew who they were but they were certainly from the caravan. Then he turned to a strange man nearby, miising an eye an looking... like a madman. Then there was Akira nearby too. Istergard and Bora Cho headed to Akira. "So... What's going on? What's this all for?" he asked examining the stage with his eyes. A boxing stage. "Uh, who is he fighting?" Istergard asked with a small hope it would be some of Wolf's thugs. Jason Skywalker
"Xan and some guy are going to box against Wolf and his son, Crispin," Akira told the newcomers, "But i can't stay in one place for too long, 'cya!" Akira then went back to the inn where he was greeted by Renn. He went up to his room and got out his bow and quiver. He had everything locked on. Great. He went back down, and remembered something. "Hey Renn, do you know where i can get some yellow flares?" "Flares?" "Yeah, like roses and flowers and such. But yellow?" Renn was not following him. Why did he want yellow flares? "Why the heck do you want yellow flowers?" "They're flares. And since when do i need to answer to you?" "Since you're asking me where to get yellow flares." Akira sighed, "Look, it's for a friend." "Alright, alright," Renn grinned, "I won't mess anymore with your businesses. Down the street, take a right and then a left. You should find what you desire." "Thanks chief," Akira told him, storming off.
Master_Archon
((Don't worry 3yks, that opportune moment will come, [very soon!] I just wanted to introduce my Sciomancer/Druid/Battle Mage...let's just call him a Druid; in a seperate post. [That, and I just didn't have it in me...I feel like roadkill right now!] )) Yosho the sagacious tottered a bit as he knelt, staring at stalks of thin grass, and a moss covered stone. "Hmph, hrr, almost lost it there," he mumbled to no one in particular, though there was no one around to hear him either, besides the forest animals. Yosho watched attentively, his eyes never faultering, nor blinking. Then came what he was looking for, sudden, but miniscule tilt in the grass stalks. One would think this is nothing, or that it could be anything, such as the wind, or his breathing. But there was no wind on this day, not even the slightest, and his breathing was very shallow for the fact that he had lived a good portion of his life this way. He arched his brows at the tilting grass, then he switched his gaze to the moss covered stone. He kept the surprise on his face, his features still impassable though, and with a slight twitch in his nose his eyes began turning florescent, glowing ever so slightly. With another unknown passage of time he stared at the stone, his breathing ever shallow, his eyes still glowing, the look of surprise still on his face yet he never blinked once for this unknown amount of time. Then as if the stone itself had said something to him he looked up, finally blinking for the first time, but with that blink the florescence in his eyes disipated. The look of surprise grew on his wrinkled face, "...huh....intriguing," he muttered, as if he were mumbling to the stone. The old fellow pulled himself up to a standing position with his staff, turning, he began walking, stroking his silken white beard, his eyes darting to-and-fro, searching undescriminated among the trees, and stones, and grass, and flowers, and other such things of nature. He didn't seem to care as animals came from their homes, and hiding areas to approach the old man, they seemed unafraid of him, not only that, but they seemed to know him, and were even happy around him. Yosho stopped, looking around at the various creatures, some harmless, such as the little monkey's that were chattering and running around his legs, though no creature dared climb his leg, nor perch upon him. Some of the creatures were dangerous, if not deadly, such as the venomous snake that slithered a crawled near his feet, yet he seemed uncaring, and undisturbed. "Hm? What's this now? Go on, leave me to my thoughts, there is much I must think on," he said to them, and though this would seem crazy to any normal or even abnormal person, it was perfectly natural to him, and the surprising thing was, the animals seemed to understand him, and began to disperse. The old one restarted his walk, continuing his ravenous eye searching, he seemed to be studying the goings on of nature, as if what had happened to the grass was happening in different forms all around him. He kept going, wandering aimlessly, his pace ever steady, ever the same, until he began stepping in muddy terrain, and soon after that dirt, the vegitation growing sparse. Then as if he had come to a dead end, he halted, staring straight down at his feet, and thus, under his toes there was gravel, and a ways away, there could be seen stone...pavement stone. Yosho sucked in through his mouth sharply, as if a revalation had hit him. He quickened his pace, his gaze was now set, he pushed on until he came to what he had expected. "Could it be?....Old Ryuu?" He questioned in a whisper. He stared at the spreading of the shanty buildings ahead of him, the poor kept, but existant roads, he was in Ryuu-Tokai, the little town that was a short, but decent sized distance away from his secluded dwelling. "Ah!" He appraised, as his eyes widened in the knowledge of what he had seen earlier suddenly came to him. He picked up his pace even faster, surprisingly fast for someone his assumed age. Lifting his robes abit so as not to get tripped up, he went onwards, scurrying through the streets. He halted at a rickety, old house, what he had been driven to was inside, yet something repulsed him, something of the magical nature. He knew he'd have to wait, he was not wanted within at the moment, so he went up the squeaking stairs, and on the topmost step he settled himself, sitting down he closed his eyes, and once he opened them there was no longer an old man on the step, but a rather old, yet wild looking cat. It stared at the dismal buildings around it, cencentrating it's stare on everything, and nothing at the same time...it's eyes never blinking as it waited patiently. JasraLantill
“What?!” If Kyo had suddenly sprouted another head, Aya couldn’t have looked more shocked. “I don’t have any spiritual… anythings!” She looked at the old woman, then at Kyo, and then at Carwyn. “I don’t!” she said adamantly. As Kyo was looking at her with suspicion, and the old woman with surety, she turned to Carwyn. “Tell them!” she pleaded.
Rogue Nine
Carwyn was slightly taken aback by Aya's questioning, so he sputtered the first thing that came to mind. "Well, you've got spiritual somethings, that's for sure." Aya's face was unreadable for a second, then she turned beet red. Carwyn could feel his own face flush. "Wait, no, that's not what I meant," he said, attempting to save face. "I don't think you have any powers. Yes, that's what I meant to say." Morgan's beard, this is becoming really weird, really fast.
ForceFightWMe12
"You are! You can!" the woman exclaimed, bouncing towards her. "'Tis why you had the key! 'Tis why you met yon warrior! You control spirits!!" "You mean...she's a necromacer?" Kyo's frown deepened. "No! Nononononono! Necromacy is a dark dark power, boy!" she said, whipping around to face him now. "She is a power of light." A new wave a surprise flashed through Kyo's eyes. "A miko..." he breathed. "Yes, and one of the five symbols that are needed! Find these other three you must! They must travel with you!!" The swordsman frowned again. "I think it's about time for us to go. We have what we came for. Carwyn? Aya? Shall we?" She clucked indignantly. "No! No! You must stay! I know your type, boy, I know you! You are not going to ask the others to help you, are you?" "Come on." he said, turning to the others and ignoring her, "Let's go." Jason Skywalker
As Akira made his way to the flourist, cloaked, he noticed an abnormal activity. Seemed people where psyched about the boxing match. As he turned the left, he immediately found it. He then entered, pushing away the curtains. The shop was not your usual shop. Maybe that was why Renn hesitated to tell him. It was all dark yet full of gleaming lights, like the energy ball Istergard showed him. Alot of smoke came from the room behind the curtain, followed by a sweet smell. "Hey, what's that smell?" Akira inquired. "It's incense. Like it?" Came a female voice from the room. A woman got out of that room and onto the counter. She had shoulder-length sandy blonde hair, braided. She wore a dark dress, and wasn't wearing shoes, but sandals. She was slim and elegant. Her lipstick was a blood red while her eyes where emerald. "Uh, hi, i'm..." "Akira, i know." Akira was dumbfolded, "What?! How do you know my name?!" "You'll find that i know many things boy, but that doesn't matter. My powers are limited. I'm Alve, Herbalist." "Well, you seem to know, but i'm Akira Ryu, experienced.." "Swordsman," She interrupted. Akira started to get a bit angry at her interruptions when he only wanted to buy some stupid flowers. "Well, i'm just here to buy some..." "Yellow flares, i know. Well, i just happen to have some of those, but they'll cost you 500 coins." "WHAT?! That's an outrage!" "Hey, they're pretty flares. I'm sure the girl will be infatuated with them, due to her liking at the flares." "But i don't have that money!" "Well then, i'm sorry Mr. Ryu, but if you have no money, i'd advise to leave my store." Akira started going out when then he realized something. "Say, what about we make some bet?" "I'm intrigued. Continue." "There is going to be a boxing match between Mr. Wolf and his son Crispin against a friend of mine called Xan and some other guy. If Xan and his partner win, i get the flares. If Wolf and Crispin win, i get to own you something." "You have nothing that i'm interested of, although, that locket," She said as with a hand flick upwards, the amulet came up, but Akira immediately kept it under his shirt. "I'm not giving it if Wolf and Crispin win," He retorqued. "Well, it's do or don't son. Either we make this bet, or you don't get anything," Alve exclaimed. "Alright...i'll do it." Rogue Nine
As he turned to face the door, Carwyn wasn't sure who was the quickest to move, Aya or the old woman. The latter was surprisingly spry for her age as she beat the younger woman to the door despite being the farthest away. Aya stopped in her tracks, then recoiled aways from the old woman, drawing back behind Carwyn. Kyo moved forward, standing in front of the fortune teller. "We're done here, soothsayer. Let us pass." She looked at him with a critical eye. "Ye be not done until it is your time to be done." She grabbed the handle to the door, then swung it open and stepped to the side. "I cannot stop your progress, so go, ye determined one. But know that ye will need help." Kyo said nothing in reply and walked out the door. Carwyn was next, with Aya trailing close behind him. Just as he passed, the old crone darted a hand out and grabbed Carwyn's arm, stopping him short. Leaning in close, she whispered to him, "You, you were in my dreams. As was the blonde." Her voice was surprisingly even. "She will force you to choose." Carwyn glanced at the weathered hand still gripping his arm, then back into her wizened black eyes. "What blonde will force me to choose what?" he asked, slightly bemused. The old woman cackled and released the ranger. "She will force you to choose! But no matter what, she will be swept away by the raging tide!"
ForceFightWMe12
Kyo's expression was sour as the trio moved back down the hall. Keh. He would need no one else to help him with this. He had enough contacts, and he had made it thus far quite on his own. Why should he bother with people now? They will only cause him more trouble than they are worth! There was a scampering of paws, and a second later the swordsman felt something peirce the leather of his glove, sinking into his skin. "Agh!" he hissed, lifting his hand to see the mangy cat hanging on his hand by his teeth, hissing at him. No, the old woman's husband was hanging onto his hand by his teeth, hissing at him. He snorted at this thought. "You two go on ahead." he told the others, turning back towards the door they had just left as he uncermoniously held the cat up, leaving it in its jaw-locked position. "I'll join you in a moment." A few seconds later, the woman's beady eyes popped out from the small crack of space between the frame and its ill-fitted door. She growled. "You leave him be!" she shouted as she flung the door wide. "Ye who will not travel with others. Bah! I knew ye were a fool the minute you hit my door!" Kyo tossed the cat into her waiting arms. "I didn't want him. He came to me." he answered sharply. "You ought to keep that thing on a leash." "Hah! If he shall be chained, then you ought to as well! My dear husband has far more wisdom in his current form than you have in all of yours! Your form is one made of wax, boy!" "I don't need this." he muttered, turning around and starting to leave. "I don't need anybody." "Aye, aye, so said the other before you. Your grandfather was just as foolish and hard-headed as ye!" This stopped Kyo dead in his tracks, a new fire of rage lighting his eyes. He wheeled on her. "What would you know about my grandfather??" he hissed. "Plenty more than you do." she answered, her oversized eyes narrowed and her lip pulled back over yellowed, uneven teeth, "He said the same as you. He didn't need anyone, he could handle this on his own. That was the attitude that got him killed!!" Again, Kyo froze. Got him killed? "My grandfather died in a fire!" "Aye, aye, he did. A fire lit by the same murderers that stalk you now, boy. You have met them, I believe. They are not the same as thine grandfather's killers, and yet they are." she moved closer to the swordsman, who now stood numbly dumbfounded. "Ye ought not be so foolish, boy. You have a destiny to fullfill. Your grandfather tried, but it was not the fate that fortune had decreed to give him. Nor was it your fathers. It is yours. Do not be a fool." He opened and closed his mouth several times, though no words came out. After a moment, his previous sour expression returning to his face, he turned on his heel and stormed out the door. Dark_Lady
What do you think, Hoshiko?" "That sounds like fun!" Hoshiko said brightly. She usually used her abilities to fight. Using them for entertainment would be an interesting experience. "Let's hope people understand it's just a show, though."
Grace
"Seems so," Xan said, his voice skeptical at the comment on the boy's hearing. He bowed slightly to the two, being polite, indicating for them to go ahead and lead the way to a less conspicuous spot. Takara followed at a slower pace, making sure Xan could follow without loosing her. They made their way back to the hotel, not a great distance. There, she and Katsuro helped Xan remove his armor. "There," Takara said, nodding slightly. "Now you are ready. Let's get back. We don't want your challenge invalidated by your failure to show up." Rexraptor2000
"That sounds like fun!" Hoshiko said brightly. She usually used her abilities to fight. Using them for entertainment would be an interesting experience. "Let's hope people understand it's just a show, though." Toa smiled at Hoshiko and said "Well, if they don't, then it'll be fun to see the look on their faces when they do realize it's a show. They'll probably try to kill us first for scaring them out of their wits, but they'll cool down." Then Toa smirked and continued saying "I'll try to go easy on you though, since everybody knows that a fire dragon could defeat a thunder dragon any day without breaking a sweat, if they could at any rate." Master_Archon
((For all the time I spend online, you'd think I'd be more observant, wouldn't you )) Katsuro took off ahead of his mother and Xan. Takara followed at a slower pace, making sure Xan could follow without loosing her. They made their way back to the hotel, not a great distance. There, she and Katsuro helped Xan remove his armor. "There," Takara said, nodding slightly. "Now you are ready. Let's get back. We don't want your challenge invalidated by your failure to show up." ((Yeah, you think you'd see those kinda things. )) Xan clenched his hand into a tight fist, his bare arm's muscles flexing. Without his armor he looked surprisingly human; he wore a white bandana with black embroiderings on his head, covering his eyes, and anything above them. He could see perfectly fine out of the bandana, but no one could see inwards, though his sight was reduced because he lacked his helmet. On Xan's body, over all, he wore a faded, light grey tabard, with an even more faded family crest on the chest. It was hard to distinguish due to it's faded nature, and the tattered shape the tabard itself was in. But over all, the crest was beautiful, or it once was at least. It was a round sheild, with a dragon wrapping around the shield, and there seemed to be pictures on the shield depicting Xan's heritage, and above all there was in the center a picture of five different colored flames, surrounded by seven different marble sized orbs of different colors, this depicted the five elements, and the seven gifts of mancy that were connected to the elements. Xan's arms were bare, showing his strong toned muscles, and how strong he really was for wearing armor all the time, but his hands were already wrapped in strips of cloth. Over the tabard around Xan's waist was his common belt with which he holds his throwing axes and puts over his armor, around his waist. He also wore raggedy, baggy, faded light blue, silken pantaloons, they were obviously meant to be worn for comfort, and for not weighing him down while he wore armor. On his feet he wore simple, old, and tan moccasins. Obviously his clothes were once the best, very comfortable, very light, and very beautiful, but with time his clothes obviously grew raddy, and after a certain time he could not afford to buy himself any other clothes. "Absolutely," he responded to Takara, turning he started running off towards the stage at the square. "Hope you come and watch, Oh, look after my armor for me, don't need it getting stolen," he called over his shoulder to the two with a smile, as he ran off to the ring, so as not to be disqualified. He was fast with his armor, without it, it was like watching a human rabbit dodging people, and not even slowing an inch.
3yks
"Well, Kai, it seems your partner is a no show." Kai frowned, he was standing at the side of the finished ring now, his eyes darted around the crowd. This Xan did not seem the kind to skip out, perhaps wolf had done something to waylay him? But no, he saw Xan dartig through people and he hopped up next to Kai a moment later. "Kai is thinking the wolf that you are wrong, and this man Xan is right here, and ready to show the wolf a thing or six," Kai's grin was disquieting, the mad grin of a man who had no cares. He winked at The Wolf, which was of course very odd from a man with only one eye.
Dark_Lady
Then Toa smirked and continued saying "I'll try to go easy on you though, since everybody knows that a fire dragon could defeat a thunder dragon any day without breaking a sweat, if they could at any rate." "I sense a challenge," Hoshiko said in a teasing voice. "Care to put your magic where your mouth is?" She shook her finger at him. "And no backing out now," she continued with a smile. Grace
Takara and Katsuro placed Xan's armor in their room in the hotel before hurrying out to the ring to watch the fight. Katsuro caught one glimpse of the competitors and snorted derisively. "The big beefy one would be no match for you," he told his mother. "And I could take on that scruffy wimp I believe he calls his son." Takara laughed. "My son, always the fighter," she observed. "But now, we are here to watch. Be careful, Katsuro. I believe that, in such a case as this, even touching the ropes would invalidate the challenge... and we don't want that, do we?" "We're here to watch Xan kick..." Katsuro began, but his mother cut him off with a single word, barked in the same language as she'd used to make him stay behind before. Grumbling under his breath, the boy stared at the ground. He looked up again, eager for the challenge to begin.
