I think it's safe to say!

Maybe they realized how bad console controllers are and just didn't want to deal with the hassle? ;)

Seriously, though, I tried out KOTOR when it was first released at Best Buy on an X-Box, and it didn't do anything for me. It wasn't until I bought KOTOR 2 within the last year for my PC and gave it another shot that I fell in love with both games (after I beat the 2nd game, I quickly picked up the first on ebay).

I doubt the controller had anything to do with it, but an X-Box port may be easier to achieve than a PC port from the X-Box (or simultaneous developement, which means having to cator to the X-Box limitations from the getgo, a la Deus Ex 2, which suffered from that mindset). Easier to dumb a game down than spruce it up.

A port is probably inevitable, unless bad blood formed between the two parties during previous games... or maybe one of the other console systems offered a better deal or the deal isn't finalized, so they are waiting to announce what system it will be ported to. Any number of factors could be involved, but I vote for limitations imposed from console systems.

Either I didn't see anything there that had to do with KotOR or I'm blind. The only things that I saw was a picture of a Venator-class ship (and they ain't in the Old Republic era. ;)) and something about an "unannounced project."

I see. I'm no expert when it comes to ships in Star Wars. Perhaps K3 won't be the trilogy wrapper upper most of us hope it to be.

I was going to say much the same until I saw the ship. I didn't even think the old republic had Interdictor class ships, yet the Leviathan seemed to be able to function like that when it pulled the Ebon Hawk out of Hyperspace in KOTOR 1. That and being able to force persuade the Hutt character on Tatooine?

So I don't know what the deal is. As long as the result is good, I can forgive certain small inconsistencies. It could be that the Venator-class ships were based on an older design of Sith vessel?

Sorry to spoil the news, but I prefer to wait for the official announcement from Lucas Arts or the game's developers...:D

Considering that:

a) This is a developer’s artwork from the ‘unannounced game’.

b) Obsidian make CRPG’s (I think that’s all they make).

c) Obsidian made TSL.

d) The artwork is a picture of a Star Wars ship.

I think it’s safe to say that K3 is being made.

I just hope Obsidian aren’t making their games for the PC only from now on.

Well that's a Venator-class ship no doubt, and those ships are used by the Republic during the Clone Wars, so unless one comes back from the future, then it couldn't be KotOR. I mean, Knights of the Old Republic has to take place in the Old Republic era.

edit: It couldn't be Force Unleashed either, because it certainly wouldn't be coming out on PC only. At least, I don't think it would. That would be a huge letdown for console owners.

I don't see why obsidian would make it for just PC either. It seems that it is rather easy to program between the two. They would be abandoning a lot of the fanbase by making it just PC.

Heck, If having an unannounced project and designers who are interested in Star Wars is a big find, then we truely are scraping for evidence of a game.

Kotor III is never going to happen.

Umm…no.

When someone from LucasArts says that it's important we don't leave the KotOR franchise and the Battlefront franchise behind, and it's important that they are expanded upon, considering the KotOR games and the Battlefront games are the two biggest money making things of those franchises, isn't it safe to say that KotOR III will be made? When is the question, not if.

But it says not for PC just 360 and ps3

Yes I've heard about this, but that clip on youtube isn't a trailer of the game.

yay! PC is the only format i particularly want KOTOR III for anyway. Consoel versions (or at least in my brief experience with them) seem too clunky. they're made for PC basically.

as for Obsidian developing it, doesn't matter particularly to me either way, as long as they pull it off. i think they were playing it safe with TSL, so maybe they'll actually make a completely new game this time. they constricted themselves with II, though that is unavoidable in what appears to be a trilogy anyway.

I agree that OE is probably in the process of making KOTOR 3, but I HIGHLY doubt that it will be exclusive to a single format, unless one of the three console makers offers one hell of an incentive. I predict that it will be a cross-platform title, being on XBox 360, PC AND PS3. I know the PS3 is a long shot, but it is more or less equal in processing and graphical power to the average PC, at least as of this typing.

Granted, the PC is a better overall choice for a game(official AND unofficial mods + more variety for controls + easier to develop for) but some of us can not afford a high end PC. I can not speak for anyone else, but my PC is just good enough to run Farcry without dumbing down the graphics - what does that tell you about my current PC? AND, I am 26 and working.

Anyway, I didn't want to go on about my semi-crappy PC - just offering my opinion on the possibility of a KOTOR 3.
