manoman81
Hey everybody. I'd like to get a new case. I really don't about the looks and I don't need to do any crazy cooling setups either. I really don't want to spend over $100 but don't want a cheap platic case either. I was looking at this . I like where the USB and audio ports are at the top. I'm looking for suggestions on brands or specific models. Thanks.
The Seeker
personally, I go with a raidmax case whenever I can for all my builds. I got this one on my gaming rig http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811156148 with no complaints For my next build I'm looking at this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811156164 That one you linked to looks good too, but I'd be leary. One of the reviews said that the hard drive bays are too snug and he was shaving metal off his drives. Maybe he's a moron and didn't do it right. Maybe he's right though. Your gamble. But I've never gone wrong with a raidmax.
Nalukai
Those raid max cases are really god for the price... there are tons of those at Cpu universe here in town for 89 bucks and less... some have 6 pci 1 agp slots and 4 front usb 2.
RoxStar
On a similar note... Does anyone know if I could buy a Mac Case? Or would I have to buy the computer and scoop the mac out?
TSR
lol I've got an xblade something ma jiggy. Ripped out what was inside and custom built it.I only like the case design, although i dont see the point in spending large sums of money on moulded recatngles of plastic which few people are going to see and trhat doesnt reeally do much. I also removed the clear acrylic side parts so i could store my beer in there when i go on a large inter-sesh. It's 9 fans allow the cooling of CPu AND alchohol. how awesome is that? That's a good question, I'd be interested in the answer as well.
Darth333
Tend to favor 120mm fans over 80 mms fans for more efficiency and a more tolerable noise/efficiency level. The Raidmax cases seem to come mostly with 2 80mm fans while that Cooler Master has 120mm fans (new hardware can run very hot). The Cooler Master is a good brand in general and the case is better than the Raidmax IMHO, and at that price it's definitely at good choice. BongoBob
Honestly, I like the Cooler Master one better. I was able to see some of their cases at CES and was rather impressed. Plus they gave me a beanie for playing Battlefield 2142, so I'm rocking a Cooler Master Beanie
ET Warrior
I like this one! I am actually looking to get that for my next build...
RoxStar
That's a good question, I'd be interested in the answer as well. I've found a couple on Ebay. Really cheap but there is shipping to pay. http://cgi.ebay.com/Apple-Macintosh-Power-Mac-G4-Case-Tower-M5183_W0QQitemZ170076006386QQihZ007QQcategoryZ14912QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item170076006386#ShippingPayment
manoman81
Very cool. Thanks for the help. I saw a Coolermaster case at CompUSA, but i need to pay some bills first. Would the 120mm fans be better if I'm looking to make the computer a little quieter?
BongoBob
Yes. 120mm fans move more air more quietly than 80mm fans.
