What most attracts you to Vista ??

Just curious to see what peoples take on Vista is with regard to very specific components listed in the poll.... I have a feeling there'll be a leaning towards the DX10 side of things, but I could be wrong...

 

Apart from my fellow media center fans/builders, I'd say most people Ive come across are weary to get Vista because of stability concerns, quite a few of these are well founded, some arent

 

Alot are waiting til Service Pack 1, also called "Fiji" due Julyish, which will be an accumulation of fixes as well as expansions to various components.

 

Ive personally had an excellent experience with Vista so far. Couple of those EA sports games need a patchin, but apart from that - its been marked step up from XP.

 

As for me - although DX 10 has me quite intrigued, it still has alot to prove... whereas I am quite familiar with the improvements in Vista's Media Center component(nb.Home Premium and Ultimate versions only) and have already built 4 Vista media center rigs for friends/clients - no hitches at all.

i really wish you had multiple selections, but i had to say DX10. the other reason is Vista's support for higher capacity hardware like 4GB of RAM or support for 8 processors (assuming that you go with Ultimate). that opens a lot of doors in terms of what you can do with your programs, and i'm looking forward to seeing what gets pushed out.

 

and, for the record, i would say that i'll go with Linux, but since most games don't work well on Linux, i have to look forward to Vista in one way or another.

What about the pretty Aero interface? And Rolodex-like 3D window scrolling? That's what the salesmen keep pointing at.

I must go for the 6th option.

 

After all, I did uninstall Vista to make space for Ubuntu Edgy

 

But once DX10 becomes more commonplace, that'll definitely sway my decision.
