Samuel Dravis
"Our arrows will blot out the sun." "Then we will fight in the shade." I liked the part a few minutes later where they all started laughing while hiding behind their shields. He just had to say it, didn't he?
Lightsaberboy
Damn, did Leonidas and the Queen write the book on the kama sutra? I counted as least 4 or 5 different ways they were goin at it. O_O pretty awesome movie. I liked the style. I thought that the slo-mo would feel too overdone but it seemed to fit the tone of the movie more. Also did Xerxes remind anyone of Dhalsim from Street Fighter?
BongoBob
Alright. Finally home from seeing it. We got lucky, because his friend Josh ended up going to see it with us and he has a car, so no walking for us. We got lucky again, when my friend Chance didn't have his ID on him, and after walking away found his Work Permit with his DOB and used that and his School ID, and they barely let him in. Thank god. I would have kicked his ass if we didn't see it. F***ing epic. IMO it kicked amounts of ass previously thought unkickable. There was alot of Slo-Mo, but I think that is part of the overall feel to the movie. I loved the grainy filter over everything, it really added to the visual style of it. I loved the whole look and feel to it. Funniest quote: "No reason we shouldn't be civil." Though it was sad about Leonidas' spear throw. About the quote, seconded. About the second part: We all knew that King Leonida dies, and he doesn't kill Xerxes. At first my reactions was "He missed...HE BLOODY MISSED!?" But then after thinking about it, he made a "god" bleed. That was as good as killing him in his mind. And Leonidas still went out like a pimp. God. I need to find another excuse/way to see it again. TiE23
Damn, did Leonidas and the Queen write the book on the kama sutra? I counted as least 4 or 5 different ways they were goin at it. O_O Funny thing is that her name was Gorgo... wonder how that would sound from Leonidas in passion, lawl. Anyway, I'm back from the theaters, totally ****ing awesome in every way. But I couldn't help imagine what would have happened if Leonidas was driving an M1 Abrams into battle, crunch! Also, now I know what elephants look like falling 200 feet to their death. : D My ticket: A questionnaire they handed out after the movie, I decided to keep it. Fish.Stapler
Saw it yesterday at 1530 Phoenix time. It was epic, definitely felt like a comic book. I actually didn't feel like the slow-mownage was overused, it seemed to fit the tone and action of the story perfectly. The excessive clapping was also annoying, but it was nice to see the entire audience was into it. One thing that did annoy me about the movie is that the proper pronunciation of Leonidas is not LEE-OH-NYE-DASS, but LEE-OH-KNEE-DAS. Got on my nerves after a while. swphreak
It was glorious. I could watch it nonstop. It's got everything you need in a movie: blood, flying body parts, nipples, sex, and epic battles. Phreak gives it a 5/5.
BongoBob
I liked how alot of the nudity was done in a tasteful or artful way.
TiE23
Yeah, but the Oracle was rather "erect" if you know what I mean.... that thing could put an eye out! <_> : P Edit: One of the best fight scenes in the movie (Errmm, blood in it, mkay?) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lW9gw5TwxE Wanna see it now? swphreak
You know what sucks? They didn't show the mighty Spartan army annihilating the Persians at the end. Would have been awesome.
BongoBob
I kind of liked that they didn't do that. It really made the whole thing come together. Like how it was being narrated up to that point. And of course everyone knew if only 300 spartans could kick that much ass, then 10,000 would annihilate them. acdcfanbill
I went and saw it saturday night, after turning off the little history buff inside me. It was pretty good, I liked the stylization except the blood. It just didn't work for me, jarred me out of the movie every time I saw it. I wish they'd done a different effect for it, but thats just personal taste I guess. No comparison to Sin City, but I still would give it a high six, that rounds up to 7/10. All in all, a fun no-brain visual movie.
Kjølen
I kinda wanted to see that end battle. That would have kicked ass.
Mike Windu
I also agree. End battle would have been awesome to see. I think they should have at least ended it with the first head being lopped off. Oh, and I think the most homoerotic part of this movie was (other than the constant abs, gorgeous, makes me want to work out right now) : when the ships were crashing against the rocks, and all the spartans were celebrating. I just can imagine a few of them jumping into each other with joy and then rubbing the water over each other. Loel gheyspartanz. I think I might see this again just for the action. The Immortals were cool, btw. and p.s. History Channel's Rome: Total War rendition of Spartan awesome: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6BDHGa4CEY

Acrylic
Ya know a bunch of Zionists totally made the movie, and when watching it, other Zionists are subliminally told to rise up an kill any Iranian in sight. </stupidestthingofsarcasmieversaidbefore> I thought this film was absolutely great. One of the best movie I've seen in so long.
