Meh, they've had the same thing here for years. Hell, the government even lets people grow it for the patients if they can't grow it themselves.

This whole thing is so f***ed up, simply because they can't say, hey, drug dealers, this was illegal and we'd haul your ass to jail for a bit for it, but we need to buy all your weed.

Yeah I noticed this article a couple days ago.

 

I agree that marijuana should be legal across the board. The problem is that many people's careers rely upon marijuana being illegal. A major source of revenue for the government comes from slapping fines on harmless pot heads alone.

 

So don't expect to see it legalized soon, I'm just glad that New Mexico is approaching marijuana with a little more common sense... Marijuana can really help with a lot of ailments.

 

I would rather see my government's money spent on locking away pedophiles (and keeping them there) than busting some dude with a bunch of plants in his back yard.

 

Sorry for getting preachy guys, I just feel strongly about this issue.

I'd imagine people would still smoke cigarettes, because people can smoke cigarettes in public. Smoking weed in public would probably earn you a lot of police attention. People might not drink as much though. A lot of people drink because they don't want to risk failing a drug test, but still want to get... intoxicated without having to smoke weed.
