edlib Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Well, I played through The Force Unleashed. It was...not great. Graphics, art, and sound were all good. The story, cutscenes, and voice acting were great. But the game was just...not that fun to play. You have ten levels to go through hacking up enemies. It's pretty easy. There are different combos, costumes, and lightsabers, but none of that really does anything, so...yeah. Your Force Powers are fun for about five minutes, then you get bored of shocking people with lightning and tossing stormtroopers around. The saber combat is totally lame. The movement feels stiff and unresponsive. Honestly, I thought the Force powers and lightsaber combat were all much better done in Jedi Outcast, and that game is what, 7 years old now? I'd say just YouTube the cutscenes and don't bother with the actual game. I have yet to try it on the higher difficulty levels, though, so perhaps that forces some strategy and makes for a more fun experience. That was exactly my basic feeling based on playing the demo. I'm sure I'll get it at some point, though... when it gets cheaper.
Zargon Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 That was exactly my basic feeling based on playing the demo. I'm sure I'll get it at some point, though... when it gets cheaper. its 39.99 @ Target this week, so 20 bucks off.
Kuuki Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 well for like 30-40min my power was out.. O.o but im back
Kuuki Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 well, either my dog makes it through the nite ... or we take him in tomorrow sometime...
edlib Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Oooh... bummer. ****ty way to start a new year, dude. Sorry.
K_Kinnison Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Had a real good game of curling today... Our team snapped it's two game losing streak. THo it took us to the fifth end to get back into it... and score. That is right, we allowed the opposing team to score once, and steal three times. But we tied it up in the 5th, and scored two more in the 7th to eventually win the game. I made a couple of great shots. a "split raise" in the 5th which helped get our 4 points, and a difficult double take out to almost put the game away in the 8th
edlib Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Well: Off to bed. Long day at work tomorrow. Facing a day of crappy weather, too. I probably won't be around at midnight tomorrow night... so "Happy New Years!" fellas! If I don't get another chance to post to this one: Thanks for an interesting 2008... and here's looking forward to a kick-ass '09! Now the question is: Who's doing the honors for the new thread?
Kuuki Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 i know how we can settle this quake 3 arena king of the hill match
Rogue15 Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 it was a decent year...2009 will be better. played fable 2 just about all day....watched prince caspian as well. i have to wake up and go to work at 9am tomorrow. not looking forward to it. 9-6...a fair 8 hours...friday i'm 3-10. thankful that i have new year's day off. i didn't even request it. i requested valentine's day off sometime last week..,think i'll have a girlfriend by then, or was I being corrupt...by taking that day away from someone that does? only time will tell. not sure if i'll be going out anywhere tomorrow...not enough cash on me til next week. sorry to hear about your dog, scar. my sister's boyfriend had to put his dog down on saturday. =\ i hate when pets die or have to be put down.
Rogue15 Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 ****ty weather outside. least i got somewhat of an excuse to not go out tonight, other than my mom being a bitch to me about it.
edlib Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Tell me about it. Commuting is going to be a bitch. Worse coming home: I'll have to shovel the driveway and walks before I'll be able to get into the house. That will be a helluva lot of fun at 1 or 2 am tonight. Oh joy of joys.
Kuuki Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 it was a decent year...2009 will be better. decent? gah 2008 was pretty ****ty if you ask me. Uncle died, Brother died, great aunt died. dog died. stuck on deployment lost my job gas was horrendous and im going broke.
Zargon Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 that does suck. it was OK for me. got married, got a new bike(paid with cash ), got a new car, increased debt by 40%, becuase before I bought the car I paid 1/2 my debt off. of course the wifes income helps
Wildstar Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 I booted this morning, and now, not only does my computer see the Firewire bus, but the card's net adapter works, where it wasn't before even if the Firewire bus was detected. I hereby throw open the 2009 one-year thread for someone to start, as I'm at a loss for a title.
edlib Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 1 Yr. Thread - 2009: Titties and Beer Well... false advertising, to be sure... But we would get a lot more hits. Made it to work. The weather sucks. Gonna be a crappy day. Happy freakin' New Year.
