You knew much of it was going to be bowling-related...my return to league competition, my tear through my summer league, and nearly rolling my first 700 series in said summer league. My average has dropped off to 180 in my winter league, but I've had my moments, especially a few times in the 10th frame when I could win points for my team. Here's hoping I improve in '09.

I'll be sitting to pee later tonight, and the boys are taking bets as to whether it'll be before the cops show up or after. We're having the 5th Annual NYE Noise Complaint Music Festival in my buddy's basement. Expected attendance this year: 2 kegs, 8 microphones, 6 guitarists, 3 bassists, 2 drummers, and 13 amplifiers. We start rocking as soon as there's a 3-peice band worth of musicians, people just kind of start setting up and joining in as they come, and we don't stop 'till the cops show up (at which point we politely apologize, give them coffee and doughnuts, and generally thank them for working on a night we're sure they'd rather not be). Last year the cops were parked outside the house at 10:50, waiting for the noise bylaw to kick in at 11:00 so they could come ask us to turn it down. We spoofed 'em an end-around and stopped playing at 10:59, brought them some freshly brewed coffee, and played Guitar Hero while we waited for them to leave, then after giving them 10 minutes to get somewhere far away fired it back up and made it to 12:17 before they came back. New location this year... I've been assigned to a scouting party heading over to the old place and see if they show up around 11 again, so we can bring them their coffee and let them know we've moved. Won't tell 'em where... Just that we've moved.

And I'm REALLY GOOD AT THEM. Going to attack the Endless Setlist Two on Rockband 2. I'll let you know how it goes.
