xrefusex
Actually there are turrets in the landing zone on Tatooine. I remember in my first game when I first landed I was a bit intrigued as to whether there was some sort of quest involving me fighting my way through the streets of Anchorage back to the Ebon Hawk in some sort of Black Hawk Down/Indiana Jones-type daring escape. I was a bit disappointed when nothing such happened.
MasterWaffle
Really? I vaguely recall something like that myself.
Sithspecter
They aren't that accurate. (Remember Ben, "no, these blast points are too accurate for Sand People...") They spend too much time yelling archaic battle cries, and how could they storm the city? It's a walled city with a durasteel gate! A Bantha's not going to be able to do much against that! Oh, and Sithspecter, any luck with the over level 20 thing? I tried it, and my install won't let me try anything past 20, even though it says I have the experience I need... If this turned into a restoration, how would the trick walls and floors be made? That seems very complicated and very much prone to problems. Also, a durasteel gate is very easily bypassed by simply making a crude wooden ladder (not too hard) and climbing over. Most of the Czerka people in the city aren't even armed, how hard would it be? Plus, the Sand People take out Krayyt dragons for fun. They might could sic one of the city. I don't think Czerka could stop that. About levelling up to more than 20, I'm slowly working on it... Koopa-on-Fire
I know its not necessary, but it would be hilarious if there was a conditional at the end of the game to see if you did the sand people v. Czerka quest where one of the Jedi in the lightside ending was replaced by a sand person. Just give it a thought.
Merchant2006
Thanks for the notification Jebus, im gonna blab this project to all of my kotor crazy friends (who didnt have any idea of TSLRP until yesterday, thanks to yours truly and his strange way of persuading people ) [Force Persuade] Any details of secret restorations that you have not listed should be spoken to me now. [success].... Please? Jkin, anyway this is amazing, im so excited!
ForeverNight
Yeah... I wasn't really thinking in the realm of Moding possibility, but more in the way that , at least I think, it would have been done had it been done. (By Czerka, I mean.) But, oh well, that's life! So, a restoration is taking the ideas/content that the company decided not to use and then creating them from scratch off of concept art/promotional art? Dang, wish I could do such a thing. Time to hit the books! (Tutorials) Good luck, and hope to see this finished!
glovemaster
About levelling up to more than 20, I'm slowly working on it... When at Team Jawa we had problems as to whether or not to include content such as this, the problem is that Bioware hadn't planned to have a leveling system that goes beyond 20, and so if we included it, it wouldn't really be a "restoration". If you are trying to do a restoration mod then I think you need understand you are limited in a sence, Team Jawa often went off task and produced content that was not on our restoration list, that was before SithRevan left. Seamhainn
The game can be played and finished with (only) 20 levels. Why put time and effort into changing that?
DarthJebus05
Because the game originally had levels after 20. Which is really obvious, since I hit 20 way before the end of the game.
Seamhainn
And could you defeat Malak even with that hindrance? (Same here actually, and I assume every player did hit 20 before the Starforge.) Which benefit do you expect by leveling beyond 20?
Marius Fett
The same benefit you get in TSL when you can get to level 50 I presume... MOAR FORCE POWERZ!
Sithspecter
I was working on it for a separate mod, not to include in this, but everybody who warned me is right, it's hard-coded. Back to topic.... Glad to see you around, Glovemaster! News about Sleheyron: It's coming pretty well. I'll post screenshots soon. I've taken a look at the cut Tatooine Rakatan Temple. I think that it can be restored with minimal modelling effort. The walkmeshes need to be tweaked a bit, but other than that, it's fine.
xrefusex
I don't really see the point in changing the leveling system in KoTOR. In my playthroughs I usually get to 20 by my last planet, giving me enough time to enjoy what I've got, but crucially when it comes to Jedi NPCs, it means that they are different from one another, due to the limited Force powers, feats and abilities you can give them. Less is more, I suppose, particularly with the limited number of Jedi you have at your disposal; having all Jedi NPCs with maxed out Force powers and mana doesn't seem like fun, nor challenging. Just a thought.
Lantzen
Just because you hit level 20 before the end, it dosen't mean that it's a cut thing. There is many game that have a level limit, and you hit it long before the game is over sometimes.
DarthJebus05
Yeah, I suppose I can give a little update: Krayt Dragon fight Currently, the script that initiates the fight with the Krayt Dragon, doesn't exist. We will have to script another one. Czerka on Korriban Exclusive screenshot of the receptionist (Done by MasterWaffle) Dialogs and NPC's are done... as of now. We will add more NPC's. Currently, we are searching for ideas from the community as to what quest shall be for it.
ForeverNight
<Whistles> This looks nice, is it the fabled second floor of Czerka on Korriban? The floors look very Czerka like, and, maybe its just my eyes, but the background's kinda hard on them... probably just me. Still, very, very, nice! Papership
Bah. If you take the levels past 20, you have to make the bosses harder. Malak was easy enough without any mods, cheats or game-understanding. ...actually, just make the bosses harder, even if you leave the levels at 20. Nothing more disappointing (and insulting) than an easy ultimate-nemesis Take for example the scene on Leviathan. Malak challenges you. He hits like a ferret, you hit him once, and half his health is gone. He runs off. Then the same again; challenge, one hit, stop. And you're thinking, what the hell... look how weak he is. I should be able to just kill him here. Then Bastilla steps in and pulls him to her, the door slams down. Carth is yelling "NoooooooOOOooo!" ...and I'm thinking "...what? Surely she can take him. Look how squishy he is..." That was probably the one bit of K1 that seemed really odd. Maybe on your resto project you can toughen bosses up a bit. ...ok, I'm done ranting ^.^ I'll go back to my lurker-corner now. But seriously, I can't wait for this mod. ~*~ Paper ~*~
