Trigger's WIPs

Yeah... there's pretty much nothing in this thread that I don't like  My favorite hilt is probably the Osiris, I'd love to have that in my override folder.

Trigger, I applaud your efforts and your work :golfclap:

(You too, Darth Parametric :thmbup1:)

Speaking of the Osiris, I would like to announce that I am re(re)texturing my lightsaber hilts. I've created a silver texture (that is oddly a lot like my gold texture....) that is a lot better than my old chrome. Now that I have 3ds Max, I don't need to bug Parametric for a fancy render, as I can now make my own fancy stand (or try to, at least.) and make cool effects using the rendering setup. So, expect some more saber pics in the near future.

EDIT: While its not as good as Parametric's stands, I've found a good substitute. Ledges in a room-environment, with the sabers laying non-nonchalantly on them. I was able to complete Osiris and Gryphon with the new texture, so I got renders of them, a render of the room without the sabers on the ledge, and a render of the ledge with the 2 sabers.

My plan is to have 2 sets of ledges on each wall, so there will be 8 ledges in all. if all the ledges can hold anywhere from 1-3 (depending on the size), so the room will hold at least 16 hilts. If I'm lucky, 24.

I'm just a bit confused with your ledges and stuff.
Hehe, he is trying to be all fancypants.

Trigger I wouldn't get too carried away with making your renders too artsy. You don't want to draw focus away from the sabers themselves. The only reason I use the stand for the beauty renders is because I already had it lying around from back in the day and it's better than having the saber just floating in the air. I'd keep it pretty simple - stick to one saber in the frame, keep other objects to a minimum, and make your backgrounds fairly neutral.

I was able to map and texture (and make some changes to) Octane. I made 2 changes, one is more noticeable then the other.

I added in the top part, for enhanced accuracy, and I made the part on the bottom slightly more trapezoidal.

The purpose of the room is basically your renders, minus your fancy lighting effects and stand. With the room, I'll be able to showcase the sabers on each ledge, which will probably be 3, so I cut down on the screenshots a bit. The artsy part of my renders is the sabers, I just added in an omni light for ****s and giggles.

EDIT: I started on a mod last night that involved allowing your party members to become any jedi class you want. With this mod, you'll be able to choose if Atton becomes a Jedi Guardian, for example. I am also incorporating some new robes for our new jedified party members. I have a render of Mikey's special robe:

Just so you know, I've already done that a week or so ago and submitted the mod yesterday (or was it the day before yesterday?) on knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com, so it will probably show up there in one or two days.

So if you need any files (dialogs or scripts), you can take them from my mod once it gets approved (I've submitted it for the character progression category), or you can PM me your e-mail adress and I will send you the mod.

No thanks, I plan to do this one on my own. Besides, I need the extra experience in scripting. :)

EDIT: here is an updated Mikey robe:

his hard-to-corrupt nature gave me inspiration for his robes. A white and blue color scheme. I also plan to do a reskin of everyone's base clothing that they can wear seperate of their regular clothing.

My next robe will probably be Mira's. Imagine mandalorian armor (based off of mandos like Boba and Jango) in a Jedi robe.

All right, update time. I put Disciple's robes into the game, and I am pleased with the result.

I found out that Chainz's save game archive is quite useful when testing mods. :p

I've also decided to make sets of Dark Side robes, for if you make your companions into Dark Jedi. Here is a render of Mikey's dark side robes from Max.

And, I've also started on Mira's robe. As I said before, it would be Mandalorian armor under robes. 3ds decided to mess up the picture, and made it so that there is the design I put on a robe earlier on in development of the robes (before I made Mikey's robes)

I doubled checked the texture, and there is no sign of my design.

Excellent work as always, Trigger! Especially with the gun model, Anakin's robes, and the Commandos. The gun model and texture have to be the best of any modded weapons I've seen. has to be the best I see you've done something with Anakin's hair as well in the last screenshots? Looks much better.

Thanks everyone. :)

That's a pretty nice looking robe. :p

Not too crazy about the armour underneath it though.

Well, I can't please everyone, eh? If you don't like it, you don't have to use it. I'm sure someone out there enjoys my armor.

EDIT: I plan to make some tweaks to our party's clothes as well, in case I haven't mentioned it.

Thanks Drew. Yeah, I modified the hair texture, but its still not right. I've been working on it throughout the week, trying to get a nice mix of my current Ani's dark brown hair and your Ani's blond hair.

And, I'm surprised no one has noticed the saber my Exile is holding. it is my Anakin's/Darth Vader's Episode 3 lightsaber. I plan to re-do some of the buttons on the hilt, and than re-export due to blade issues (the blade is floating about 2 inches above where its supposed to be, so I'm gonna fix that as well)

Now that I'm off of school, I plan to get a lot of stuff done. Mainly on my areas (Yat's area and my Floating City/Frying Pan area) and Mustafar (because that mod hasn't been given good enough treatment lately. :p)

I think interpretation of would be more accurate. Sorry, but if it it ain't got ears then it ain't no Graflex clone.

Well, I didn't try to make it a graflex clone, I just tried to get the basic shape of it, which isn't exactly cloning. And, as I told you when I first modeled that saber, I thought that those ears were just plain ugly.

Anyways, onto business. Andrei's mod went up, and now you know the basic idea of what I'm doing. The only similarity between our mods is the idea of making your party members into any jedi class. In my version, there will be new robes, lightsabers, dialogs, and, if I have the patience to, maybe a few quests that trigger for some of your party members. Maybe Bao-Dur will meet up with a fellow mechanic from the Wars who is having some problems with the Exchange on Nar Shaddaa, or you teaching your party members some new things.

I'm going to keep a checklist that I will re-post at major updates.

Robes:

Mical (LS |DS)

Bao-Dur (Charged Armor mod)

lightsabers:

Mical: (With e-varmint's permission, Consul)

Atton: (1 | 2 | 3 think break away saber)

Dialog:

Atton (not tested)

Update time.

I have the base robes for everyone done now.

Atton's Robe

Its very hard to see the detail on this robe. :(

Considering the already dark nature of atton's robes, I'm contemplating making his robe available for use in both LS and DS.

Brianna's Robe, based off of J7's Handmaiden Robes

That is still a work in progress, and I might end up completely re-vamping her robe, to fit in more with her comrade's robes.

I've also got a hilt made for Bao-Dur, which I've decided is to be called "Inner Demons", due to his responses that I remember that he makes about the Mandalorian Wars.

I believe I've got a good hilt picked out for Brianna, the Balance hilt from USM, which I will be modeling and mapping on my own.

Aside from making the DS Robes for everyone (except for Atton and Mikey), and re-vamping Brianna's robe, I am done with the robe portion. I must still find and model a hilt for Mira, and export all the sabers. Than finish the dialog edits. And than make the uti files, and the 2da edits...

And, today, with the help of Chainz savegames, I tried out Atton's new jedi dialog. The dialog edits worked perfectly, but the scripts failed to work.

And, on the end note, me and Lord of Hunger are collaborating on some quests involving your new Jedi Party members. We are planning to do at least 1 quest involving your party member's past, and maybe something on training them, so there is a chance of having a bit of restored content (the ability to give your party members some of your saber skills was something that was cut.)

I've looked over the thread, and I must say, the lightsabers are incredible! I would like to recommend a hilt...

And, on another note, I've fixed my issue with the script. Now that I have my scripts all finished, compiled, and working, my dialog edits should go by much faster than it has. My dialog edits should be done by the end of today, and I'll have more time to worry about my quests and other stuffs.

Here is a screen of Atton in his Jedi Robes on the attribute screen, also showing that my script had successfully worked.

And, I've started to collaborate with Lord of Hunger on some quests. We're currently working on refining Atton's quest (he takes a little break, and meets up with Caios, a soldier he served with in the Mandalorian Wars), and started on the rough drafts for Brianna's 'quest' (its not exactly a quest, but more of a way of how she got her lightsaber and robes), and Bao-Dur's quest to save the Restoration Project.

And, I think I've got a good sabers for Mira. Titled "Caliber," the idea is an elegant, sleeker lightsaber, with deadly upgrades. Float like a butterfly, sting like a monster scorpion. :)
