Negative Sun Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 Anyone else been watching this show? It's totally blown me away I consider it the best sitcom this decade and possibly the best sitcom ever (yes I am considering Seinfeld, Frasier, Friends, etc...) It's just so good, the writing's amazing, cliche in certain points, but the jokes are funny and very intelligent and geek orientated, if you are on these forums and also hang out in the tech forums (you know who your are) you will feel spoken to by this show, I'm constantly going "dude, that's me!" I'll give you a rough idea with what is IMO the best scene ever: Best. Show. Ever. Did a search but couldn't find (surprisingly) another thread about this show, if there is one, please refer me to it
Hallucination Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 I don't really like the show, but my parents watch it and laugh like hyenas. =/
Sabretooth Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 I don't watch it regularly on account of my low TV watching, but I think it's okay. Looked like a sitcom version of XKCD really, but the geek jokes get too weary after a few episodes. Still an okay show to watch, I guess. Much better than the endless reruns of Friends.
deathdisco Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Good show but it pales compared to How I met Your Mother. Almost every episode has me ROTFLMAO. Best sitcom ever.
jrrtoken Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 It's an alright show, but it's not as good as Better Off Ted or Pushing Daisies, both of which have reaffirmed that TV can be funny and original.
Q Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Pushing Daisies is original? You mean the live-action Dr. Seuss book? Comedy is so subjective that hardly anyone is going to agree on it. I like The Big Bang Theory because I like Johnny Galecki, but I like the in-your-face raunchiness of Two and a Half Men better.
Pavlos Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Much better than the endless reruns of Friends. The first four or five series of Friends are astoundingly even in quality; and a good quality at that. I've never watched The Big Bang Theory, myself, but I think I relate more to the thwarted existence of Basil Fawlty than anyone else...
Rabish Bini Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 It's average. There's no chance it's better than either Get Smart or Two and a Half Men.
swphreak Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 The Big Bang Theory is pretty awesome. Can't wait for the next season.

Jim Parsons carries a lot of the jokes in the series though, but I'll agree with you on Two and a Half Men, sort of The Big Bang Theory is pretty awesome. Can't wait for the next season. Me neither, I'm stoked that they got picked up for two more seasons, it's gonna be great, season 1 was good but season 2 just got consistently better, so I can't wait to see what's next!
Ctrl Alt Del Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 but I like the in-your-face raunchiness of Two and a Half Men better. Word. You can't beat the Harpers. But if you ignore it, it's actually an ok series with a nicely selected cast.
