Boba Rhett Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 Go into your router config and make sure it's set to "Auto Negotiate" connection speeds. Do you have neighbors with wireless networks? If they have theirs set on the same channel or a channel close to yours that could slow it down.
MysticSpade Posted July 31, 2009 Author Posted July 31, 2009 yeah i live in an apartment complex tons of wireless setups. how would i go about changing the channel setup and negotiate speed?
BongoBob Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 If it's a linksys one you'll acess it's settings by going to 192.168.1.1 and entering in no user name and admin as the password. From there you should be able to find those settings.
acdcfanbill Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 Those are awful pings even not on wireless, maybe that router is borked...
MrWally Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 I wish our speeds were anywhere CLOSE to what you have . . .
Boba Rhett Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 Really, Wally? Keep in mind those numbers aren't in MegaBytes.
MysticSpade Posted August 1, 2009 Author Posted August 1, 2009 yeah i went into the router settings but i guess im a goober cuz i couldnt figure it out.....lol
MysticSpade Posted August 1, 2009 Author Posted August 1, 2009 man i would kill for that upload speed Niner cuz i stream on Justin and have my own youtube channel that upload would be great...LoL
BongoBob Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 >.> <.< Holy balls. Is that your personal connection? And if so what kind is it and how much does it run ya?
Rogue Nine Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Yup, it's Verizon FiOS service in my home. It's about $15 a month.
BongoBob Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Damn you're a lucky bastard. No FiOS service available in my area
IG-64 Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 It's about $15 a month. I'm sorry, did you mistype and say 15 instead of 150? Or do you work for some government agency?
Q Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Yup, it's Verizon FiOS service in my home. It's about $15 a month. You are indeed lucky, Niner. FiOS kicks ass and it's cheap. It's pretty much the best available, isn't it? Verizon will make a killing if they can install it in more areas. Hopefully they will.
Rogue Nine Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Now now, jealousy does not become you, gentlemen.
