Boba Rhett
Go into your router config and make sure it's set to "Auto Negotiate" connection speeds. Do you have neighbors with wireless networks? If they have theirs set on the same channel or a channel close to yours that could slow it down.
MysticSpade
yeah i live in an apartment complex tons of wireless setups. how would i go about changing the channel setup and negotiate speed?
BongoBob
If it's a linksys one you'll acess it's settings by going to 192.168.1.1 and entering in no user name and admin as the password. From there you should be able to find those settings.

Rogue Nine
Yup, it's Verizon FiOS service in my home. It's about $15 a month.

IG-64
It's about $15 a month. I'm sorry, did you mistype and say 15 instead of 150? Or do you work for some government agency?
Q
Yup, it's Verizon FiOS service in my home. It's about $15 a month. You are indeed lucky, Niner. FiOS kicks ass and it's cheap. It's pretty much the best available, isn't it? Verizon will make a killing if they can install it in more areas. Hopefully they will.
