A lot of SITH

am i the only one who thought that this thread was about the ridiculously high number of "darth <name>"s on LF...?

Me? I always, always play the Dark Side in KOTOR/TSL. Why? Because the Jedi are, 99.999% of the time, supremely stupid. And the Jedi Code is awful. "There is no emotion"? Seriously. Give me a break.

i dont know who that is in your avatar, Endo, but it matches with that statement magnificently.

I was thinking about this while moving and I have a better understanding ( or at least I think I do) of the differences of the Jedi vs. Sith.

I remember in ESB when Luke asked Yoda if the Dark side was stronger, to which he replied "no". Yoda was pretty sure of his answer. They however always seem to appear more powerful. Why is this?

my Answer came in the form of a Hammer. ( stick with me here. going to get a little bumpy)

I have own a very expensive hammer that has a weighted head to make it sink nail more smoothly. I don't have a lot of uses for it, so it sits in my awesome tool box.

where as someone who is not happy with the world could take a less powerful hammer and hurt people and break things.

This underscores for me the "problem" with the Jedi. they are so scared of the hammer that they forgot that they have a better hammer and that they can use it... and when they do use it... it's way more powerful and it gets more done using it then laying in the toolbox.

hmm I never thought about this but you made me do so....

1. I play Darkside 'cause the evil guys just look cooler imo!:dev7:

2. I'm not a big fan of happy ends 'cause they are too obvious most of the time

3. I just like black!:D

4. like written in a few posts above, the jedi codex:" there is no emotion"!? People live through their emotions and their emotions lead their lives if you ask me.... and living like a monk isn't fun to me at all! Same discussion could be why would people want be Bounty Hounters? Or Jedi?

and the Jedi are suppose to be sooo smart but the always make the same mistakes.

  1. never think it's the Sith - when it always is.
  2. believing that thinking about stuff will solve - which always leads to the destruction of so much innocent life... al la U.N.
  3. become complacent time and time again.

And thats exactly why I don't like the Jedi

While I've only played LS through both games, I get really tired of the idea that you can only be light or dark and that there's no middle ground. I know, I know, Jolee's the "gray" Jedi character, but through his own dialogue it's clear that that's not a common path. It seems you can be either a puritan Jedi or monstrous sith, but that there's no common ground. That's always bugged me to no end.

I used to think the Sith were cool, but then they become an annoying enemy that would never die. Stupid Legacy Era.

I agree. I think the Sith are an over-used element within the star wars series - its too exhausted. People nowadays want something new. Something more original...

I *am* neutral. :p

Which is quite impossible in K1 due to the way the ending was done. I helped myself by modding in a few "fake" PC responses, which has helped me enjoy the game far more (as strange as that might sound, it's true).

K2 is better in that regard, but one thing that annoyed me is that certain powers and dialogs became available only if your PC had been either dark or light, but not neutral. Considering how Kreia had been against both the dark and the light the whole game, I was quite surprised by this (short development time to blame again, I presume?). Luckily, however, my modding skills were again able to save the day. :D
