RpTheHotrod
Aight, well as y'all know (I'm from Texas, so I'm allowed to say y'all), I'm a pianist. In general, that's solo work so your style has to be self contained with one instrument. SO, I was thinking, you know, why not download FL Studio demo and see what it's like with multiple things. So, foolishly, I jumped right in and started messing around XD Anyway, I have not read any tutorials or anything, so I reeeally don't know what I'm doing, but I figured I'd throw my first two "let's do this and that and this other thing and see what happens" songs up here. Neither of the following have an "ending" per say. First one was just a test of throwing together multiple instruments together for a song to see what it'd sound like. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdEw718e3FY&fmt=18 The next one was, well, I don't know. I was in a weird mood, so I tried doing a techno-ish one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3-2UE-9Vhc&fmt=18 Now I need to start learning the program. Tutorials, here I come! Anyone know any good ones? Also, if I decide to get into it, I'll buy FL Studio 9. Anyone know any good music bundles I should also get(free or otherwise)? IG-64
I really like the latest one. Getting more into the kind of techno I prefer (which I think is futurepop/synthpop).
jon_hill987
Seems like a good start for someone who has not tried a tutorial. I would recommend uploading them as mp3 files (320kbps) in the future as the youtube compression makes anything sound hideous. Youtube is not for music people! RpTheHotrod
Oh, I agree about youtube. It sucks for music! Any ideas for easy access listening where people don't have to download the files to listen?
jon_hill987
Ah yes, if you want people to be able to stream it there are not any other options I know of. They may exist though...

RpTheHotrod
Still a lot of change/tweak on it, not to mention put more of a song into it. I just threw together a quick ending so it didn't feel like a drop at the end. Massive work in progress, but I figured I'd share it so far http://www.mediafire.com/file/zt5tjqerjzh/Rps First Step.mp3

acdcfanbill
First thoughts: Dath's sig makes me lulz Cool. It seems to me to be a kind of bittersweet tune. Something you would see in a romcom when both leads are required to do something that separates them but they feel obligated to do anyway.
RpTheHotrod
So EverQuest is going through a contest and celebration type'a'thang. I have not played EverQest in over a decade, but I jumped in and was like....hellz yeah! Let's celebrate! I then followed up by corrupted their beaufitul, elfy, lovey dovey theme song and posted it on their forums. (warning, LOUD!) Before: Everquest After: HappyQuest Download HQ link: http://www.mediafire.com/file/zoy2naxmmx3/Happy_Quest.mp3 Get down, elven folk! Wooo! RpTheHotrod
So I was foolin' around on the keyboard with the exorcist theme song (I've always found it intriguing!) and I kept adding to it more and more and so far I'm up to this XD Not finished though. (youtube craps out audio quality, beware) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKA5OsO6KQU&fmt=18 So, the real question is....while people play beautiful music on the piano, why does exorcist come to my head to doodle with? o-o
jon_hill987
It is called Tubular Bells. Though it was used in the opening for The Exorcist it wasn't specifically written for it.

Most people don't know what Tubular Bells is, so I was just saying it was from Exorcist since most know what that is. To be more specific, it's called "Sentinel". Go Mike! IG-64
Not bad. I particularly liked parts starting at 0:35 1:08 and 1:38. Keep making songs, I like them. Also, merged your music threads so you can keep them in one spot.

RpTheHotrod
It has been bugging me that I did not make an ending (right now it just cuts out). I still have not added a good one, but I threw together a placeholder ending to it. Also, just for jon_hill987, I added a true exorcist piano roll in there!
