How do I show new portraits for party members I created?

Recommended Posts

The textures have to be the same size as the originals. E.G: if it was 32x32, that's what it'll have to be.

Thank you guys for the help now I have to find storage for these skins so you all can see em. I made a HK-47 "purple people eater" skin, and a T3-M3 "Raid" skin, along with portrait and gui interface template. If anyone would like to point me in the right direction for web storage for you all to dl it from that would be great. I plan on doing a complete party reskin. Should be able to do 1 party member a day, and will place them in a rar for download once I find free web storage....

Well theirs always websites such as MediaFire. (http://www.mediafire.com). These websites have always worked fine for me, some Poole complain about the emails they get but it's really only one email a month. It's sorta a monthly newsletter.

Or there's always a website such as DeadlyStream they are another key place for kotor modding that offers everything from forums to file hosting. *Looks at SithHolocron*

Nice mod, I think for version 2 the red on T3 would be nicer a bit darker, but it's a good first mod all in all, welcome to the forum :)

Yeah I was thinking about making it darker but I sort of like the digital red camo look he got? Been working on re-skinning Bastila, that yellow dress has got to go lol! I tried making a new weapons but I am having the issue with them freezing the game when upgraded? Eh I will keep at it practice makes perfect lol

TY for the feedback!

In the README file contained in the download he is credited with the creation of the bass, and I describe the editions to the texture. His read me file only asks that he is given credit for what he started. No permission needed when it is granted on download and he is given credit for his work.

"HK-47 skin was modded from a skin created in 09 by Drewton, but I upped the resolution, changed a great deal of detail, color and added a .txi file to it that makes his eyes glow, skin appear dented and metallic and created parts that his didn't include such as Portrait and .gui inteface but I feel it is cool to say hey this isn't all mine here it is a kicked up mod of that reskin with alot of my own details added!"

Directly quoted from the readme file included...

That isn't the issue he's referring to, Darth Reptinus.

Unless Drewton's read-me says something along the lines of:

"Feel free to modify these any way you wish, just give me credit"

Then you can't release it without permission from the original creator. That's one of the fallacies of modifying someone's work if they've left the community...

EDIT: Unfortunately, if this was your source, it doesn't say either way about permission or re-using it...

well iirc, file front says if you try contacting him and wait for a reply, if after a certain time has passed you give them credit and they will host it until the person requests it be taken down. I'm not sure exactly how the rules here are but that seems perfectly fair. especially since the readme says nothing about it either way. and sh I wouldn't call it theft, that's a tad harsh.

Okay, folks. Calm down here. If you've got a problem with something somebody posts, or if you think they've broken the rules, report it and leave it alone.

New people make mistakes sometimes. Almost everybody here jumped to the conclusion that Darth Reptinus had no permission to do this, yet nobody gave him an opportunity to produce such proof. After seeing the report, I gave him a polite message about it. I'd normally give 3-4 days for a reply, and then make a decision. Instead, it's basically a lynch mob.

I want it stopped. There are Moderators and Administrators for a reason. Let us do what we're here to do.

It looks like we have driven off a good potential modder, basically because he is new and maybe doesn't understand everything about the community. Don't do it again.

If you want to discuss, PM me. Thread closed.
