Time for some more accolades for contributions to our awesome team!

- leXX with 20,000 points

- PastramiX with 10,000 points

If Astro wants to provide a suitable pic that would be awesome. I really suck when it comes to graphics stuff so I don't want to ruin the moment by posting a lame pic. :D

A most informative chart, tk. I sure hope ChAiNz is doing OK after his department's move. I guess the one good thing that can be taken from him not being around is that he still has a job. :)

I'm a tad late with this but it's time to acknowledge another milestone achievement in our motley band. Astrotoy7 has slain more than 300,000 points worth of WU's!

300.jpg

Observe him as he sallies forth to skewer even more WU's without fear for life or limb! Well done, fearless leader. Well done. :D

I got it!..... Chainz must be President Elect Obama's tech support guy :) Busy reformatting all the windowsME pcs that Dubya was using at the White House :D

Thank you for milestone props Charr! Also a milestone for you is comparing someone who sports a Turkish flag in their sig to a Greek warrior - Im sure that probably doesnt happen often :D

But no biggie at all, the folding mini forumshould be devoid of ancient Mediterranenan politics, but instead.. >>> Stanford Auditing Babes !!

Upon completion of 300,000 points, Stanford University sends out its team of auditors to check your queue.dat and log.txt files :D

congrats to chainz on bustin the kilo. Hope he uses that Lvl 30 wizrdcat for good :p

Don't know if you guys noticed already, but folding.extremeoverclocking.com has added a user list to our team, making us all individually part of the database!

Just to illustrate, I give you ChAiNz.2da.

Atm, I'm not folding myself, because I had an unfortunate accident with my computer and had to reinstall and I haven't gotten around to reinstall the GPU client. Will do so as fast as I can.

nicely spotted miltiades... I though we didnt get that until we breached the top 800!

Time to get the geeky sigz action happening ;)

EDIT: its quite easy to upgrade your sig. When you check your sig address you'll see there's a bit that has php?t=140370

>>after the php? insert un=Username& leave no spaces between any of these letters.

>>That specific bit will look like this

php?un=Username&t=140370

By doing this, you dont need to fiddle with anything else and you can keep all your preselected colour schemes

Heres mine :D and yes, I havent had mine on all day for various reasons. But back on 24/7 now and for the next few days

sigimage.php?un=Astrotoy7&t=140370&c1=FFFFFF&c2=2e2e4a&c3=00000 0&c4=800000&c5=d9d787

Maybe you did but I didn't. :xp:

Char is quite happy with the three "inspectors" that Astro has offered for Char's part of the double date. Char's not so sure the AMD hardware inspectors are of legal age in the U.S.A. though :freakout: so Char will keep things on a strictly platonic level. :ang3::dev11:

On another subject, am I correct to assume Astro is using the 180 drivers now? How are those working for you or for anybody else that is using them for folding with an NVIDIA card?

@Da_Man, I think you are confusing the AMD posse galz with the Cudettes. Check again if you dont believe me ;)

@Char > I guess you are referring to the 180.40 WHQLs though Ive been using 180.43(beta) for a few weeks now with no hassles. In fact I think I am getting a *slight* improvement in F@H performance, and some definite improvements in some games = w00t FIFA @ 1900x1200 !

I noticed 180.70 over at G3D so will most likely give them a go over the next few days[/driverjunkie]

Due to my client getting assigned WU's from a few different projects I haven't really been able to gauge any difference with the 180.48 drivers. What I have noticed is that the point assignments for these WU's of varying projects don't seem to directly correspond to the amount of time required by my client to process the WU.

For example my client is currently working on a WU for project 5752 that is 511 points. Fahmon estimates the WU will take about 3 hours to complete.

IIRC WU's from project 5506 were 480 points each and took my client 2 hours to complete.

So in 6 hours time my system could process 3 WU's worth 1440 points for project 5506 but only 2 WU's worth 1022 points for project 5752. It's not that big of a deal to me but just something I looked into a bit after noticing Fahmon's PPD estimate for my client dropping from 5760 to 4165. I just wanted to make sure my system wasn't having a problem. As far as I can tell it isn't and the issue is the point assignments for WU's from various projects don't necessarily correspond to the amount of time it takes to process the WU.

EDIT: My client just got assigned a WU from project 5016 worth 480 points and now in Fahmon my PPD went back up to 5760 and the estimated time to complete the WU is 2 hours.

I can say 180.70beta is in status quo as far as folding is concerned. Main boosts seem to be in 3D performance as opposed to brute CUDA force :)

Char, as new drivers are released and clients are improved, performances enhancements will move along with them. I wonder what the upgrade cycle of their GPU clients is...youd think itd be quick due to the fast paced nature of driver updates. >>I noticed you mentioned 5760 points... is that running just one GPU client for your 9800GTX(iirc)?

* * *

Also, Im wondering if the cuda-esque functionality on ATI cards is going to properly harnessed this time. ATI GPU clients arent that spectacular to behold in action..

In any event, congrats to PastramiX and Chi for crackin the 50!

Keep up the great work all! Kakao stats puts us in the top 900 by the end of the year :D

if any of you are particularly mathematical or good at interpreting the numbers in the stats listings... *cough*tk*cough*

Im curious to find out what is our teams 'saturation point'. We've been steadily progressing along because our team average is allowing us to consistently accumulate at a rate beyond other teams. But there has to be a wall somewhere.. the point where we start to stay in one spot because the teams above us simply churn out higher daily averages.

longstory short: what is our position in the ranking based on daily points averages alone > thatd be very interesting to know.

If only we could get a couple of more people with GTX280s that sit churning points all day! :p

Yep, I'm running a single 9800 GTX+ factory overclocked to 760/1880/2300. It can process and complete a 480 points WU in 2 hours or a little less hence the 5760 PPD reported by Fahmon. It seems like my GPU client was only getting assigned 480 points WU's ever since I started using it up until recently.

I agree and understand about changes to client and drivers. The cores play an important part as well since it appears the 1.15 to 1.18 cores were using optimizations that pushed some nVidia cards so hard they were causing EUE's. I think that is what Miltiades and I were experiencing. They took out some of the optimizations with the 1.19 core and stability returned for me.

@Astro:

I'm looking at the Team Overtake charts at EXTREME Overclocking... they list teams that are about to be overtaken in green, teams that are going to overtake us in red, and teams out of reach in gray. Judging from the concentration of green/gray teams, it looks to me we'll saturate probably somewhere around rank 250. Of course that's based on our 24-hour average, but those teams still have a 9 million point lead on us, so it'll be awhile.

Great work tk :)

lolz, if theyre 9 million points ahead, we should be cacthing up to them in about 2 years(based on current output of course) :D

By then, some of us will have different GPUs, and hopefully some extra team members - so it hopefully wont be that long...

I thought I would share a little calculation of my own. As of today our team has accounted for .005% of the Folding@Home project's total points, and counting. :D

I'm not making a joke or anything about this. I just thought this was a way to illustrate both how big this project is and how in just four months time we've all contributed to the cause.

lolz... Char, I feel better saying we're in the top 1000 of nearly 150,000 teams, as opposed to "we've only contributed half a percent" :D

btw - super congratski on the 500WUs

Dont tell too many people, but achieving 500WUs entitles you to UNLIMITED STICKS OF RAM, courtesy of RAM-Girl, who grows them on her silicon skirt :D
