The Seeker
Okay, to those who don't know it, I am writing my first book, and have come up to an unforseen problem, a mere four chapters away from the end. I need a name for an evil God character. Originally, he had just been mentioned in passing, but now, he will be a figure in one of the chapters, so I need a really good name for him. Something that is relatively easy to say (no more than four syllables), but conveys a sense of sinister power. I want something sort of archaic that almost curves around the mouth, but give me any ideas you have. His original name was Xvannon, but that no longer fits. Some other names in the book, so you can get the feel: Jarrek, Sakira, Mkib, Gavin, Sonya... So, if you could just shoot me some ideas, I'd appreciate it. Thanks. GonkH8er
Derek, Atticus, Domonic, Rutherford, Sascha, Bjorn, Jasper, Osama, Lawrence, Fleur, Ivy, Theodorus, Thursten, Gilligan (or not), Don, Gabriel, Marcus, Mortimer. Some may not sound evil to you.... but they do to be well, not gilligan.
acdcfanbill
how about this, wait... ok, peter.. oh, another, maybe, murry? no? ok then, on to real (badguy) names... well, i always kind of like bad guys with nicknames... something like 'lock jaw' rippentop, or 'iron balls' mcgenty.... it would help if you told us what the story was about, i mean, if its say, a WWII story, you wouldnt wanna name the villain Xcon or anything, but if it SW, Rupert Googenheim probably wont fit hopefully my rambling is somewhat helpful.... oh, and if not gilligan, how about 'The' Skipper. or you could leave him unnamed, sort of adds to the mystery... StarScrap
Refer to him without a name, but with a proper noun. Such as the Dark One in WoT.

Scav
Depends on the book. Are you writing science fiction or fantasy? It also depends on the 'cliche level' of the book. I would suggest a crude sounding name for Fantasy, and a smoother sound name for Sci-Fi.

The Seeker
Okay, here is the backstory for the "dark god" as well as the plot quest for the main villain - Sakira. Just before the Gods populated the world with mortals, the "dark god" made a play for power. There were seven battles for the world each lasting three days. The "dark god's only victory was on the sixth battle when he broke into the God's armory and stole among other things, a set of five powerful scepters made by the God Falkery to enhance his power. The five scepters don't work unless they are assembled as one. The "dark god only escaped with four. Since they were now useless, and he was defeated he scattered the four around the world and left clues so a sorcerer could eventually find them, because once the four are found, they point the way to the fifth, guarded by a mortal. So, the Dark God is hiding on an island with the third scepter which is guarded by his minions of creatures. The main villain has found the first two scepters, and is now after the third, so will be coming across the Dark God in this chapter. So, I need a name for the Dark God. BTW, if you haven't figured it out, it is a fantasy story. Thanks. P.S. I may have already found a winner with Gehenna's Periculum, but please keep the ideas coming.
