Cmdr. Cracken Posted April 24, 2002 Posted April 24, 2002 me too.... anyone wanna start a pool on what it is?
Ikhnaton Posted April 24, 2002 Posted April 24, 2002 BGMs are out of style. we don't do them anymore. at least not on my watch. and i think HTML is disabled, or at least it should be (security issues), so resizing a smiley face is out.
Zoom Rabbit Posted April 24, 2002 Posted April 24, 2002 Ike: 'Twelfth-level Ascended Supreme Asshat-wearer of the Underwater Lodge of Sweaty Foreigners who Repair Water-distribution Piping.' :D Small smilies work just fine, though... Keyan: Thanks. My art generates spontaneously, which means it's hard to get it to do something for means other than its own. My life's work won't be written until I'm much older and wiser--I'll wait until then before deciding if the art's been wasted or not. Gunner's title? Who dares name the king? If I did, though, it would be 'First Unitary Source of the Eternal Jedi Brotherhood of TIE Fighter Smackdown Jacket-wearing Big Dogs of the Entire Sky.' Or something.
Jem Posted April 26, 2002 Posted April 26, 2002 Originally posted by Rogue15 yes it works! Yeah but it's nothing compared to the DOOM song I used for my Asteroid Thread, now that was cool!
Admiral Odin Posted April 26, 2002 Posted April 26, 2002 be careful what you wish for Niner. It is dolphine meat that he smokes.
Zoom Rabbit Posted April 26, 2002 Posted April 26, 2002 Bite your tongue, Grand Barknoodle Initiate of the Sacred Hall of People who Cut Things with Big-ass Knives... Dolphin meat is NOT on the menu! Niner: What're YOU smoking, with that big green head all lost in thought? T'ain't tea leaves, now, is it?
Redwing Posted April 27, 2002 Posted April 27, 2002 More potent than dolphin meat? You wanna buy some death sticks?
Zoom Rabbit Posted April 27, 2002 Posted April 27, 2002 A zen title for Nute, eh? *(Pops his knuckles)* How about 'Supreme High Horse-riding Sequined Cloak-wearing Radioactive Space Amphibian Illuminatus from a Parallel Universe Not at All Like Our Own?' Of course, you do still hold the Jedi Sceptre of Universal Obfuscation...
edlib Posted April 27, 2002 Posted April 27, 2002 Yeah, you'll go blind and grow hair on your palms doing that. Which, believe you me, can make it awfully difficult to type properlhgt /&'>?.
Zoom Rabbit Posted April 27, 2002 Posted April 27, 2002 Dirty? We're perverted but well-showered! Dirty! I have a whoppin' zen title for Edlib. Thus: 'Seventh-level Studded-leather and Chain-wearing Transcendental Howler Monkey Bearing the Sonic Axe of Jimi Hendrix's Ghost.' Unless you don't like Hendrix...
Nute Gunray Posted April 27, 2002 Posted April 27, 2002 I wish Supreme High Horse-riding Sequined Cloak-wearing Radioactive Space Amphibian Illuminatus from a Parallel Universe Not at All Like Our Own would fit in the forum rank thing.
Rogue Nine Posted April 28, 2002 Posted April 28, 2002 Yah, can you come up with abridged, but still cool Zen titles, Zoom?
edlib Posted April 28, 2002 Posted April 28, 2002 Cuz I'm a Voodoo Chile, yeah! Hendrix is the man. Grandaddy of modern guitar playing. Very cool indeed.
Zargon Posted April 29, 2002 Posted April 29, 2002 Originally posted by edlib Grandaddy of modern guitar playing. Really? Please fill me in, I however still do not enjoy most of his music, I lean more towards the likes of Bob Seger and John (Cougar) Melloncamp
Psycho Tycho Posted April 29, 2002 Posted April 29, 2002 He's great with the guitar. Especially with his teeth.
edlib Posted April 30, 2002 Posted April 30, 2002 Well in the terms of loud rock playing style, he invented the sound. Most of what people associate with rock guitar was either inventeted by him, or perfected by him. Heavy distortion, fuzz pedals, echo and phasing effects, wha-wha, feedback fun, whammy bar trickyness, and the like... If it weren't for him the Fender Strat and the Marshall amp may have gone extinct. And NOBODY had a foot pedal FX board before him. Just about any player in the last 30 years who has made any kind of impact on the pop-rock scene will count Hendrix as a major influence. Even the guys who were around at the same time he was. In rock guitar music there are 2 major epochs: Before Hendrix and post Hendrix. His lasting impact and influence on rock music history, and specifically on guitarists cannot be overestimated.
Psycho Tycho Posted April 30, 2002 Posted April 30, 2002 Hendrix will always be a great guitar player, even after life.
