something wrong with DF.......

I don't know bout ya'll......but DF (Dark Forces) messed with my mind. I got it when i was in second grade and I playhed it non-stop. But ever since I got it......i could not get to sleep. I kept thinking bout it........it stuck in my mind and I couldn't get it out!! When I finally realized that the game was keeping me from sleep and freaking my out........i desided to quit playing it (duh).

Ok, bout 5 years later.......i deside to play it again.....i figured I was just too young and stuff like that, so I installed it and played for several hours.

I could barely get to sleep that night. It wasn't like it was "scarey", but 1: i had no sound.......so i would turn around and see a Dark Trooper right there slicing me....

I know that it wasn;t cause i played it too much....i mean......hell, i played JKII 24/7 without a prob. But DF will never be played again by me.

I recently found out that one of my best friends had the same problem!! Then my mom talked to someone too with the same problem again.

In my opinion........that gane is cursed or something.

Anyone else have a problem?

okay i installed both Dark Force and Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight

anyways this is kinda a surprise to me. I have no problems with JK DF II but in DF i too have no sound. Reading this thread scared me becasue i play it mostly at night when i come back from work. I hope to god i dont pee in my pants from seeing a trooper behind me. But sense i played the game several years ago i kinda hear the sounds in my mind. I can hear the blaster go off and hear the same repeative "AGH" sound when i shoot a storm trooper.

Actually I had the same problem, I was afraid to tell anyone about it. I kept thinking ok, Got the key, turn on the powerplant, back to the damn.........yada yada yada. Beat the game and forgot about it. Then I got Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight and it all started again. I never beat DF2JK, I got my own apartment and moved out, and didn't have a computer so I forgot all about that. I got Outcast now, but I spend more time playing with multiplayer files then actually playing the game.........the new addiction. I have to get a new hard drive now because I got too many damn PK3 files, and I refuse to let go of most of them.

I know how you feel. Remember that level with the Water Cycs and you had to flood the dome shapped room and swim up to the top and throw a switch or whatever. That was classic....I couldn't tear myself away. And I almost messed my pants the first time I force pulled a weapon out of a Tusken's hand and watched him run away in fear!

I favorite thing to do on DF was to get to that map where it's a city, and you can fall down into space. I'd run up to any enemies near the eldge, crouch (or could you?) page up to look allll the way up, and punch them. There was a bug in the game engine....that when you hit someone just right doing that, they would fly up into the air about 100-400 feet and then fall to their doom below.... Muhahahahahah

Then I'd turn on god mode and fall down with them watching them die by hitting the ground. Then I'd get some tripmines and lay them in "space"
