-[MotU]-Lyger|=-
seems your being a lil hipocratical about this:rolleyes:saying "why do people talk about the Matrix" when you are talking about it.(Note: this is not in a negitive way at all)
Cal_da_Darth
I've seen the movie fifteen times. Can you tell I love it? I didn't understand it at all the first time. Infact, everyone was most likely pulled in the first time by the flashy effects. That's what made them want to see it again. And when they did, they found how intricate the story of The Matrix actually is. Really, it was an awesome movie. It was the original of the widely copied Bullet-time, and the story? Incredible. And as many of you have probably already heard, the second and third get better. I suppose you a) sort have to enjoy computers and b) have to see it at least three times...well, at least I did. How many times did you see it?
Sivy
i really like the matrix, but i'm obsessed with star wars. if i had to choose between the two it would be no contest. the matrix is a great film and i'm looking forward to seeing the sequels, but i've loved star wars all my life. HellFyre69
Well comparing the Matrix and Star wars, is totally in the perspective of the person... Asking this in a sw forum, of course the majority would say that Star wars.. But the matrix is in fact A GOOD MOVIE. I at least watched it 10 times... i had to watch it 3 times just to get the storyline, and which is awesome!...

leXX
We need to free a few minds! Why didn't you just ask this question in 'The Matrix' thread? The Matrix is my favourite film of all time! The music, the effects, the storyline, the actors etc etc just all clicked with me from the very first viewing of it. There is so much to The Matrix that you could watch it 100 times and still not see everything or understand the meaning of everything. If you have only seen it once, I highly recommend a second viewing. The sequels are going to blow your mind!

How many times did you see it? The matrix got its bullet time effects from hong kong dramas called bullet operas. They featured stuff like disarms (think dead to rights meets the matrix). Nevar
I like star trek!!! *gets stared at by the plastic-lightsaber weilding people* Nnnnnot really a smart thing to say in a star wars board i guess... I've only seen it once. The part I liked best is the story....er...aside from bullet-time of course. MOUSE RULES!!
JaseP
The Matrix is not some complicated plot of a picture,... Guy gets sucked into a band or freedom fighters who show him his life until now has been a lie,... then he helps them,... plus some dufusy stuff about having a destiny,... That's about the size of it. You don't need to be a mental giant. I can't really think of a film that has a plot too complex to understand. Even the Godfather was pretty straightforward. If you want complexity read a book, preferably an OLD one, like one written in the 1700s.

pik-ard
ok, about the matrix, try to think of all the references to neo being jesus... "your my own personal jesus" "the one" etc. think of all the refenences to the bible "nebbachadnezzer" "zion" etc. then it gets complicated... vanilla sky, arg, ill try... guy is born... meets blonde girl... becomes here "special friend", makes "promises":D to her... meets burnette girl... falls for her... spends night with her... blonde girl goes psycho, drives off bridge... get is car crash, messes up his face... recieves his creepy mask, goes insane... finds the life preserving company on internet... goes to meet them, and signs contract... lives some more of miserable life... gets frozen... a glitch in the program makes his life hell... dreams up the doctor guy... life gets more like hell... then the whole thing happens where he killed the burnette because he sees the other girl... he forgets that for some reason... funeral... his friend hates him... then the creepy thin person somes and tells the doctor guy he isnt real... the guy jumps off the building... starts over at the fall during the night... patch v1.1!!!!!! if anybody thinks im wrong, please correct me caus im not 100% sure on this

Sivy
yes, and after you explained it you said, 'im not 100% sure on this' my point exactly, you try to explain so it makes sense, but your still not sure. which would be the same for me if i try to explain it. It’s a film that I think no one can explain confidently.
