Blizzard screwed up. BAD. I know it will be bad. Console= kids that usually have average intellegence(Some are, like ones who get Final Fantasies and anything with a story besides shoot-kill-rinse and repeat till kill big bad guy). And Blizzard's game is gonna be a TPS and you control squads and stuff. And it will have a good storyline(hey, since this game is gonna be single-player only, they will make a great story) that most of the kids wont get, hell they'd piss in thier pants when they launch a nuke...

man starcraft brings me back, i had so much fun back in the day. i dunno, i guess this will be like a wolfenstein in the future kinda, like theirs terran vs terran(nazi's) then theirs protoss(the experimental things from the labs) and finally zerg(zombies/ghosts from tombs). i guess this will be similar, except for commanding a squad.

If I recall the story is going to center around a female ghost with an overaccentuated chest. I can't say I'm looking foward to this. Blizzard IMO screwed up by making this for the console. They make wonderful PC games, but a big old company like Blizzard going console will only push other developers to publish for the console. Yuck. That and the game looks like yet another overproduced 3rd person shootemup with a tough, determined and heavy chested female lead. Blah.

Actually Blizzard made console games long ago, so it's not such a stretch for them. As for them making a console only game, why not? They've got WCIII out, that should be some good money for them. Then, they'll bring this game out next year for the consoles. It won't take away any success from WCIII, because it's console only, but it will take away from their compeititors. Sounds like a pretty good business decision to me.

as a gamecube owner myself im pleased that this is coming to the console, i am NOT however pleased that its ONLY coming to consoles, this ruins the possibility of extra skins, mods, campaigns being developed and dled. ive never seen a blizzard fps or tps, i know they make GREAT rts and rpg's but it'll be interesting to see their take on shoot em ups.

anybody else think that blizzard should team up with lucasarts and make a kickass rts set in the sw universe?

I'll start of with the good news:

omg. OMG! I like it sooooo much. :bounce1:

The bad news is of course the same that has already been stated here. It doesn't look like it will come out on pc and that is such a great loss.

And i don't think console players are less intelligent than pc users, just people with a different taste. Frankly if i could afford it i'd go out and buy a cube or xbox right now. But i can't.. and therefore i naturally think it should be released on PC as well.

It would be in Blizzards interest too imo. If the game sells well on the console it most definately will sell well on the pc market too. Does any one think Halo will be a failure on pc? Not? Didn't think so either...

I never liked Star Craft and infact i HATE all games that are like that type. Standing form above like your GOD telling people where to go and who to fight. I hate that type cuz its all a luck based strategy. I mean in a Mortal Kombat type game if you dont push the punch buttin than you might get kicked but in Starcraft it like this, highlight player, fight the enemy, and at random given punches you may or may not lose your player. DEATH TO ALL GAMES LIKE THIS!!! AND DIABLO COUNTS!!!

blizzard rules, and thres a HELLUVA lot more to it then luck. theres alot of strategy and you NEED to think/act quickly to survive. every single thing that you do CAN and MAY be countered perfectly by an enemy, as such you need to prepare for the absoulte worst and cast what, when and where properly. you need to know when to expand, when to creep, when to attack and when to scout and how much you should send each way. you need to know the strategy of your opponent and develop counters for anything he/she might throw at you.

if you cant handle being a god over an army then i can see why you wouldnt enjoy it. i however love to play mind-games with my opponents and plan tactical strikes. and dont get me started on the differences between SC and WC3. they are completely different games with completely different strategies with completely different styles. in SC all you really had to do was mass 200 food limit of a single unit and go attack. in WC3 its alot more small scale planning and micro-managing. ask anybody whos played the game on-line or through the entire sp campaigns.

id like to hear what you think IS a good game if you dont like blizzards titles.

if you guys are really wanting another Warcraft 3, fine by me. But I think its cool that they are doing something different.

Look at it this way: If they do RTS Starcraft 2 for PC, it will basically be Warcraft 3 with the Starcraft theme. Id rather have something different.

BUT I dont like the idea that its for console only, and not PC. Yet another reason why eventually i should get a console instead of using my PC.

But I do understand why Blizzard is making this for console. To expand their market, get more money.

BE THANKFUL THAT YOU ARE AT LEAST GETTING SOMETHING!
