Rogue15 Posted October 9, 2002 Posted October 9, 2002 I voted for Final Fantasy 7, since I have it. If u would've put in Final Fantasy: Spirits Within, i would've voted for that.
Kuuki Posted October 9, 2002 Posted October 9, 2002 thats a movie not a game ^_^ and besides they kinda really took the pont out of the whole idea of the games due to how the course of that movie went, although some of the basic ideas stayed the same (gaia, spiritial energy, energy from the planet, etc:)
Cal_da_Darth Posted October 10, 2002 Posted October 10, 2002 True. But I believe the reason was so popular was because only the Final Fantasy gurus understood it. Those who never bothered to involve themselves with it had no clue what the deal was with the planet, spirit energy, etc. I personally, being an FF fan, liked the movie.
Rogue15 Posted October 10, 2002 Posted October 10, 2002 that's odd, i watched the movie (on dvd) before playing any of the games, had to watch it 3 times to understand it though.
SuicidalXWing Posted October 10, 2002 Posted October 10, 2002 I understood it the first time with no prob, and I'd only played a little bit of FF7, the whole demo. The plot was totally easy to understand.
SuicidalXWing Posted October 13, 2002 Posted October 13, 2002 Me thinks 10. Although Blitzball sucks. So boring.
Tie Guy Posted October 13, 2002 Posted October 13, 2002 Alright, i'm a little late but here's my opinion: It was between either 8 and 10. They each had a lot going for them. 8 - Best Music - i loved the music, well...all but the regular battle, that wasn't anything special. Best Characters - Selphi and Seifer and especially Squall, i thought he was great. Best Limit Break System - I loved it, especially how you could use it as much as you like as long as you risked death. Best Story - i loved it, more than 7, which was 2nd best. 7's was good, but it didn't seem as epic or realistic (relatively of course). It was just odd. 10 - Best Graphics -Duh! Best battle system- The best in every battle category except abilites, 9 was better in that respect. Voice acting - now i really wish i could hear eveyone else's voice. Best Leveling System - the sphere grid was a great idea, it offered an incredible amount of options. And those are just a few, but in the end i voted for 8, since i figured not many other people would. I really like them both about the same. BTW, this is my first post here in....oh.....about a year. Its nice to be back. Don't get used to it though. Not that it matters, seems 15 is the only person left from way back when i was around....
Rogue15 Posted October 13, 2002 Posted October 13, 2002 redwing comes here too. wonder where lynk former is...
Darklighter Posted October 13, 2002 Posted October 13, 2002 I actually thought Blitzball was a great mini game...it took a while to get into, but after a while I was hooked, kept winning leagues, it was great:D
Pisces Posted October 13, 2002 Posted October 13, 2002 Yeah blitzball's fun. Buuutttt, I've never played Final Fantasy. Any of'em. Given the conversation though I'd guess any between FF7 and FF10 are the best.
Wacky_Baccy Posted October 14, 2002 Posted October 14, 2002 Posted by JangoClone#104 what i really want to know is who picked "Never played one in my life" it's sort of bugging me! That would be me ...And I suspect that Red may be the other one ^_^
Kuuki Posted October 14, 2002 Posted October 14, 2002 yeah is way easy to make a winning team (IE: Titus with techs ject shot spehere shot on as LF, and having Wedge as RF with weither shot and (i had another tech i cant remember ^_^), Rin as center (passing), keep the two regular members of the aurochs as defence, and lose keepa, never have a ronso for a team mate unless its a defencive and can attack ALOT) as for FF7 VS FF8, the story line was infact more epic in 7 then 8, even though 8 looked better, but never ever decide a game is better then another just becuse it looks more prettier. 10 is awsome becuase everything is smooth and characters can talk, and had a damn good story, but i dotn ever think the SquareSoft can beat a story line that they had in 7. but personally i think 8 was too 'lovey dovey' to me
Redwing Posted October 15, 2002 Posted October 15, 2002 Originally posted by Wacky_Baccy That would be me ...And I suspect that Red may be the other one ^_^ Actually I haven't voted yet. So that makes three, now @Tie Guy: Hey, I'm here ^.^
JangoClone#104 Posted October 16, 2002 Author Posted October 16, 2002 i finally saw ffx for the first time and i found another reason to buy a ps2 (the other reason i wanted a ps2, i saw guilty gear x. i liked it so much and i'm the type of guy who doesn't like fighting games)
Kylilin Posted October 16, 2002 Posted October 16, 2002 I have never seen FF9 or 10, but I am pretty sure I have seen the rest, and I have to go with FF7. I have never been so obssessed with a game as I have with that one. Not only was the story fantastic, but I even loved all the sidequest stories. Clearly to me it is one of the best video games ever made.
JangoClone#104 Posted November 4, 2002 Author Posted November 4, 2002 i finally got somewhere in ff7. if you never knew, i have never got of the first cd ever since it came out. the problem usually was the memory card was corrupt or someone deleted my data. after five attempts, i gave up. but i got back into the game and i'm finally at the end. but before i beat the game, i thought i get just about every nook and cranny that i can possibly get. the only thing i have left to do is get a few of the harder materia, get the huge materia, and get a gold chocobo. hopefully i will finally beat this game real shortly.

But, I liked FF7's more cartoony graphics, cuz that puts a lil more fun into 'em.
SuicidalXWing Posted November 6, 2002 Posted November 6, 2002 Personally I like 8 better, gameplay wise and whatnot.
Kuuki Posted November 10, 2002 Posted November 10, 2002 :D:D:D:D:D /me is happy, btw... /me wants to link a nice picy of sephiroth that sxw gave him, but he not have a decent hosting place to have it host the image...

Its the story that makes the game ^_~ (friendly reminder )
Cmdr. Cracken Posted April 17, 2003 Posted April 17, 2003 Which is why Final Fantasy 6 is the best out of the entire series.
Jedi Skywalker Posted April 17, 2003 Posted April 17, 2003 I've voted never played one in my life because my stupid comp doesn't want to play FF! I really freak out everytime I install that damn programm and my comp keeps telling me insert disc one but it's already been inserted! Drives me mad, but well, I'm kinda mad already!!!!!!!
XERXES Posted April 25, 2003 Posted April 25, 2003 8, I felt inside the character's minds. Where as in 7 (great game but...) I felt like I was just....watching the characters. I havent played 9. 10 was great however, the fact that 95% of the game you walk in a straight line pratically...got sort of boring to me. 10's story is pretty good as well...Tidus is a big baby and looks femenine. Also with the ultimate weapons...the game is ridicilously easy I dont really remember the SNES ones except for 6.
