Desktop Contest

Recommended Posts

Okay... some cool desktops getting posted in the Desktop Thread, but how 'bout a contest?

Here are the rules:

1) Wallpaper art must be original (or at least not something you can download from a themes site, etc.)

2) Post as many Desktop Screenshots as you like, but make separate posts... (dunno why, but the contest on the back of my cereal box says I can enter as often as I like, but have to send in separate entries :p )

3) All posts have to be made before Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002 at 2400 hours (12 midnight) GMT. If you live in a CST locality, like Oklahoma, USA, subtract 6 hours.

4) On Sunday we all vote, but only on someone else's work. You don't have to post a ScreenShot to be eligible to vote.

5) To keep it simple, we simply vote for the best all around Desktop, but give credit to Humor, Originality, Technical Proficiency, and Icon Content (subtact points for having AOL on desktop? .... just kidding).

6) Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002 will be the deadline for votes (2400 hours GMT). Simply make a post and say "SkinWalker gets my vote!" and maybe say what you liked most.

Good luck! Have fun!

I made the Wallpaper entirely in Photoshop by first using a middle to wide sized paint brush to create some random strokes of the colors. I then put it through several filters to get the molten effect. If anyone wants a copy, I'd be happy to send it to them. Just PM with an email addy. I'm also using custom icons and descriptions for My Computer, Network Places and Recycle Bin and Window Blinds to give my Win2k desktop an XP look.

to make the desktop i took a creenshot from a winamp plaug in then took a small section of the screenie and filtered it over and over until i was happy with it, then i added some text and drips on the text. the style xp theme is chrome4xp2 and the icons are from the globe collection.

Here are my 3 entries for my WindowsXP system. Afterwards I'll also release 3 others on my MAC system.

Every single wallpaper you see is made by me. I can give you proof if you do not believe me.

(these are links due to resolution size (1280x960) and big file size)

Hehe, then you wont like my Mac wallpapers. They are a bit bigger. I'll post the original sizes and leave it at that because making them smaller takes the beauty away in my opinion. However, if more people want me to reduce the size I will do it for you guys and gals.

Here are my Mac wallpapers as promised.
