Jah Warrior Posted October 29, 2002 Posted October 29, 2002 it doesnt just laugh, it insults you and posts a message at lucasforums to ridicule you even further.... i almost offered the sat nav out for a fight i tell you man!!!
StAtilXl Posted October 29, 2002 Posted October 29, 2002 Automatics are hard do speed in?? you can drop a gear same as a manual. How come i beat 80% of the cars out here well my car isnt exactly stock:D I can drive standard too but i have an auto. Its easy to speed in my car.
Skate Boy Posted October 29, 2002 Posted October 29, 2002 I can't drive a manual. But I can't drive anything I'm not old enough.
Mex Posted October 29, 2002 Posted October 29, 2002 My dad used to have a Automatic, until we went on holiday and it got stolen, how I laughed when he screamed down the phone "WHAT THE HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?!?!?!"
JandoFett1842 Posted October 30, 2002 Posted October 30, 2002 Yeah, and i can go fast in one 2, i drive one 2 school every day!! '98 Jeep Wrangler! MY CAR!! OH YAH!!
BCanr2d2 Posted October 30, 2002 Posted October 30, 2002 Manual all the way, everytime I step into an automatic, have to tell myself not to use my left leg, which here in Australia is for the clutch.... Whilst at school driver ed courses, about 3 of us were able to start and accelerate from 2nd gear. Being so used to old bombs to drive around the farm, clutch control was one of our finer skills we didn't realised we had learnt....
JediNyt Posted October 30, 2002 Posted October 30, 2002 I drive a stick. 1994 Honda Accord EX. It rocks.
OnlyOneCanoli Posted October 30, 2002 Posted October 30, 2002 Yeah, it's a great skill to have. This summer, instead of doing pool construction/hard labor, I was able to drive the truck and just clean pools because I knew how to.
.:Silver:. Posted October 30, 2002 Posted October 30, 2002 I still have an old Ford pickup truck that has the gear shifter on the steering wheel. Nobody but me can drive it, but then again, nobody would really want to either.
Old_Ben Posted October 30, 2002 Posted October 30, 2002 Automatic is easier, but I had to learn on manual and drive one every day so I've gotten used to it. I have a '73 Volkswagen Bug which is hard to shift, though and gets mad when I try to put it into gear.
.:Silver:. Posted October 30, 2002 Posted October 30, 2002 Can't really pretend to be a race care driver in an automatic though.

Isn't the clutch on the left everywhere? I drive a standard. It's grand, weird when i drive me mums automatic because i'm always reaching down to grab the stick....and it's not there!
TheWhiteRaider Posted October 31, 2002 Author Posted October 31, 2002 I am good with a cluch. My Nissan Sentra has one. I learn a automatic and a cluch side by side so it is easy. I like the control a cluch has and also you generaly know how fast you are going by the gear you are in and sound of the engine. And it is good to know how incase your life depended on it. Isn't the clutch on the left everywhere? It is in the USA. When I drove my family's van(Automatic) I hit the parking brake on accident(It is a foot brake)
ShockV1.89 Posted October 31, 2002 Posted October 31, 2002 I like driving my standard, it does give a lot of control. Automatic is nice, sometimes, though. I drive my girlfriends 2000 Civic EX almost as much as I drive my own, and it can be nice to not have to worry about shifting, just let the car do it for you. Although it can make you lazy...
TheWhiteRaider Posted October 31, 2002 Author Posted October 31, 2002 It is very important to know. Say someone is trying to kill you and the only way to get away from him is to drive a car with a cluch. If you don't know you are dead.
