It's like Mary. Her husband didn't do it with her. She just got pregnant buy a unknown force and had Jesus. You can say that the Midi-Chlorians got Shmi pregnant with Anakin.

Uh... yeah... He was conceived through a vergance in the Force. A vergance, as far as I can tell, is a phenomenon where the Force asserts its Will on the physical world, interacting with it. Of course, this wouldn't necessarily be a Christ reference... Greek Mythology is peppered with deities impregnating women with their offspring... Hercules and Perseus to name a few.

Only his mother claimed that he was conceived by midichlorians, but since we know that isn't possible, it must be a person that she would be ashamed to have done it with, but still one that is full of midichlorians. Hmmm.....

How do we know that isn't possible? Anakin is the Chosen One, the one who will bring balance to the Force... we know that from watching the OT. And one of the precepts of that prophesy, one of the conditions to look for in the Chosen One, was that he be conceived without a father. How do we know that? As soon as Qui-Gon said that it was possible that Anakin had been conceived by the midichlorians, Mace Windu knew exactly what he was suggesting, "You're referring to the prophesy of the one who will bring balance to the Force."

 

Anakin has no father, but the Will of the Force.

I second that. Unless someone snuck into Shmi's Apartment and impregnated her without her knowing then I think that it is the only reasoable explanation for Anakin's coming about.

Sidious wouldn't hafta be sneaky. He'd mind trick her into sleepin with him. And then, as stated before, wipe her memory clean. Or maybe it was some random dark Jedi. My friend said it was a black person cuz they never claim babies. Just to clarify, my friend is black so plz dun get me in trouble for it.

how'd you find this?

I wrote it in... 2000, I believe. Back then, I was entertaining the theory of Palpatine being Anakin's father (obviously), and my mom gave me an idea by saying how she thought that Shmi carried herself with too much regality to have always been a slave. So those two things were the seeds of this idea. I've since changed my mind on this topic, but I still think it's a good story, and it seemed to fit this thread, so I decided to do a little bit of product placement ;)
