Clem
as you may have noticed if youve read some of my posts today im in a bit of a funny mood ("funny haha" (i hope) and "funny huh?") this has prompted me to ressurect my marmite vote what i ran a while back on msn as the advert says you either love it or hate it which category do u fit into Current Score: Love: 20 Hate: 16 Dunno: 1 this thread may perplex some of you ... and perspex some of the others (you eyes will glaze over .... get it? ..... ur right .... terrible joke) but marmite isnt around much outside britain ... its a yeast based spread which is basically a byproduct of the beer making process
leXX
That's funny, I only mentioned marmite in a thread a couple of days ago! Anyway, I hate the stuff even though I have some on my chin.
Darklighter
I hate Marmite. I hate gerkins too. You ever heard that saying? You either love Marmite, hate gerkins, or love gerkins, hate Marmite, or hate both... ...or maybe I've been spending too much time in the white room with the padded walls:confused:

Do you spread it around like confetti? What's "yeast", by the way? <One confused Jais stumbles out of the thread>

mima kake
wow that was fun. I was reading this thread and i vagely knew what marmite was becaus 20 years ago My aussie reletives where visiting and they had this little jar with brown smelly stuff. And I just remembered the yellow wrap around it. And then I scrolled down and saw the pic. Didn't liked it, I remember it had a strong salty taste or something. Wow I keep suprising me with my own memory.

StormHammer
I like Marmite. I never used to when I was a kid, but tastes change, and I've eaten the stuff for about 10 years. And no...I DO NOT like gherkins. Or celery. Anyway...for those who like Marmite, try this... Speciality Toast Toast one side of a slice of bread. Turn it over, and spread marmite on the untoasted side Cut some cheese slices (whatever you like) and place on top of the Marmite Sprinkle some mixed herbs (or your preference) over the cheese, and put it back under the grill. It's luvverly. For those who DON'T like Marmite...substitute Tomato Puree... This recipe was brought to you by a little green Ewok named Kevin. No Ewoks were harmed in the production of this recipe. I know! *Rapidly waves hand high in the air* Anyways, that stuff doesn't really look very good, I must admit. A byproduct of the beer making progress? Yuck!
