While Dooku is one of the best fighters in SW, he perfectioned his saber skills for 50 years! Dooku would have owned any original triology character. A fight between Dooku and Vader would be like this: Vader: "Now I am the master muahahaha *chop**chop**swshhhhhh* Vader: "AAAAA my poor legs!" *bzzzzzzzzz* Vader: "You bastard! You shut down my breathing system with your lightning! *ghasp*" *schhhwummmmm* *vader's head rolls away* Were you ever impressed by Vaders fighting in the old triology? I wasn't at least. Dooku's fighting in ep2 however, was simply marvelous, deadly effective and looks cool. He fried Anakin, chopped up Obi-Wan, before he chopped of Anakin's arm. And then he actually managed to hold stand against Yoda. Vader would never have been able to do this.

Ratmjedi Posted November 30, 2002 Posted November 30, 2002 Vader is the man. If you look at his fighting style he only uses's only one hand until Luke starts getting angry and then he use''s both. Dooku most of the the time is using both his hand's. Vader is that strong that he doesn't need both hands. Also in he doesn't have to poin't at the thing's to throw them. Dooku has to use his hand as if he is concentrating to throw it. Vader just with his mere thought's can throw stuff. Vader also goes on after he is hit on his shoulder by Luke. It didn't affect him that much. Vader was Palpatine's choice for a reason. Maybe it was because he was stronger.

Mr. Lee had a stunt double (probably for that big jump), but i heard that he did most of the fight by himself. OT? sry, but wat is OT?

The big jump was done by a CGI version of Dooku. Much of the fight is done by himself, with the running and jumping parts done by both CGI and stunt person. lukeiamyourdad Posted December 2, 2002 Posted December 2, 2002 I think I know why OT had poor stunts. Vader's suit and they could not use CG stuff. I think it's pretty hard for the guy in Vader's suit to jump around and make good stunts.

What they did was use the Stunt Double's body and then they would past Lee's face onto it. They did a good job considering that you can't even tell unless you watched Disc 2. I also agree with the suit being heavy and them not having advanced CGI.
Andy867 Posted December 2, 2002 Posted December 2, 2002 From what I remember hearing in an interview with George Lucas, he was saying that with the Original Trilogy, Obi-wan and Darth Vader were beyond their prime years, which is why they weren't flying around like madmen. Seriously, if you were 30 or 60, would you be flying around a room with a saber. Yoda is an exception because of his Species and his connection with the Force. Lucas said that for the Prequels, he wanted to introduce the Jedi and Sith in their prime, and being able to jump around with amazing reflexes and agility. But I think Vader would win. Dooku's only lightsaber advantage over Obi-wan was that his blade had variable lengths, and was able to get cheap shots in to render Obi-wan to a weakened state. And imagine how much training and experience Anakin will get during the Clone Wars. 3 years is an ample time to improve one's skills.. I mean, look at Luke. He spent mere weeks/months training.

He spent mere weeks/months training. yeah I totally agree, anakin had exceptional skills with a saber in ep II, but dooku was already a master and had a style that was unfamiliar. I think in ep III he will kiss some butt, and I think it will be anakin who kills dooku
