Naphtali Posted December 9, 2002 Posted December 9, 2002 I was kind of i thought, they would of showed the expanded saberfight Dooku use 2 sabers, Obiwan and Jocasts speak about DOOku bust statue, expanded Jango vs Obiwan, Plo Kloon and jedi cut off droid army from the ship and a few others how about you.
Rogue15 Posted December 9, 2002 Posted December 9, 2002 i wanted to see qui-gon jinn and the lost 20 or whatever.
ET Warrior Posted December 9, 2002 Posted December 9, 2002 I was MAD at the deleted scenes. I didn't like them that much....i wanted to see Plo in action dangit!
Jedi_Monk Posted December 9, 2002 Posted December 9, 2002 I think what happened is that they ran out of time for the special effects. Remember, it took a long time for the Episode I DVD to come out... compared, they practically just threw this one out. Seems to me that most of the scenes were ones that they cut out at the last minute, which would mean that they would have had most of the FX completed. But I'd heard that the Plo Koon fight scene, for instance, was cut out very early in post-production, so it had had virtually no work done on it. My bet is that they'll put it out with a future release of the DVD.
Taos Posted December 9, 2002 Posted December 9, 2002 I wasn't really happy with the deleted scenes myself. They could have picked better ones. The best one IMO was the launching pad scene with only Obi and Mace. The rest of them were just terrible. I believe (kinda like what Jedi Monk was hinting at) is that they will release the best sceens when they make the SW 6 pack dvd set. That might come out in like 2007 or something. A long way to go........
JediNyt Posted December 10, 2002 Posted December 10, 2002 I was a bit disapointed. I wanted to see the droid control ship and extended Yoda Dooku duel. The scenes that are there are fine though. I was disapointed that the Padme's family scene was kept out. Maybe in the final edition dvd set therell be more stuff in the prequels. Man 2007, they got a lot of work to do. Im so stoked. Waiting is half the fun in a way.
teutonicknight Posted December 10, 2002 Posted December 10, 2002 I wasn't disapointed at all. Like Jedi_Monk said, they couldn't include the scenes like the extended saber fight or the Droid control ship because almost no post prodcution was finished on those scenes
NemoX Posted December 10, 2002 Posted December 10, 2002 I wish they hadn't cut some of the scenes between Anakin and Padme, The love story made a lot more sense to me after I saw the deleted scenes.
Admiral Vostok Posted December 11, 2002 Posted December 11, 2002 I think if they had totally awesome deleted scenes people would wonder why they were deleted. The ones at the moment you go "this scene is better off not in the movie". I think the analysis droids scene is so silly, especially Obi-Wan's line "I know who can tell me what this is..."
boinga1 Posted December 11, 2002 Posted December 11, 2002 they're really quite dull, the starfighter platform is average, and the analyses droid is ok except for the cheesy "I know who can identify this."
Purple_Tentacle Posted December 11, 2002 Posted December 11, 2002 i bet the attack on the droid control ship would be just 2 actors running around a blue room waving sticks at nothing. gee what a great deleted scene that'd be. but COME ON where is dooku with 2 sabers ?
Jared Posted December 11, 2002 Posted December 11, 2002 I was VERY VERY disapointed with the deleted scenes, I think they sucked. They should have waited longer to release the dvd, in my opinion. The episode 1 dvd is awsome. The deleted scenes were good. anyways...I have a clip of Dokku and yoda fighting dokku has a blue and red saber and yoda has a green, but its like 3 seconds. I got it off this file sharing program, winmx or something....(I long deleted the program, but you might check kaza)and at the end yoda isnt there for like 1 sec and dokku is a stuntman with a stick saber....so...anyways.
Andy867 Posted December 11, 2002 Posted December 11, 2002 Actually, JediMonk, lucasfilms confirmed that they've had the DVD ready for months, almost before the release of the movie itself. It was easier to get onto DVD since it was already in digital format. So they were sitting on a finished product for some time.
Jared Posted December 11, 2002 Posted December 11, 2002 Hmmmm....that could only mean one thing. They lost their minds. Or they just got insanely lazy.
Purple_Tentacle Posted December 11, 2002 Posted December 11, 2002 the dvd release was timed to maximise the profits from the box office. they aint crazy, they're business people.
covenant_bad Posted December 11, 2002 Posted December 11, 2002 i thought the deleted scenes would have been much better intergrated into the film instead of on that seperate disc should have followed LOTR's example....
LiMP RABBiT Posted December 11, 2002 Posted December 11, 2002 For those of us who don't have the DVD (ie. me) could you possibly go over what it exactly featured.
lukeiamyourdad Posted December 12, 2002 Posted December 12, 2002 They were not so bad. except for Obi1 with the analysis droids. everything else is fine. Although they could have put more.

Here you go : 1. Padmé Addresses the Senate. 2. Jedi Temple Analysis Room. 3. Obi-Wan & Mace - Jedi Landing Platform. 4. Extended Arrival on Naboo. 5. Padmé's Parents' House. 6. Padmé Bedroom. 7. Dooku Interrogates Padmé. 8. Anakin and Padmé on Trial.
LiMP RABBiT Posted December 13, 2002 Posted December 13, 2002 Ooh, sounds great (that was sarcasm). They sound like added scenes in most films. Never expect too much from them. They always dissapoint Ps. Thanks Darth54
Wüstenfuchs Posted December 16, 2002 Posted December 16, 2002 Well, Some deleted scenes were great, bit I think that Lucas reasons were also reasonable
Purple_Tentacle Posted December 16, 2002 Posted December 16, 2002 of cource the deleted scenes were CRAP, thats why they were DELETED.
Aaron2k2 Posted December 17, 2002 Posted December 17, 2002 By the look of it I would have thought Padme's bedroom would be.....you know O.o
