C'jais
I agree with Flanders. I thought the rate button was for giving points to people for quality postings, not spam And ye, it'd be very nice to know what the things you "buy" look like.... Guest Jed
Man, I log on today, and what do I see? "Become Moderator for a Day: $X" WTF?!?!?! I'm all for the things that are eye candy, like how YD said, but Moderator for a Day? We'll have spammers who get enough points and become... ...moderator.... *shudders* I don't like that thought. Wacky_Baccy
Posted by Cjais And ye, it'd be very nice to know what the things you "buy" look like.... *wicked idea* God, I'm really evil... Why don't we get some of our more prominent moderators to model the new options for us? I vote that we get Niner to model a pink version of the glowing username

Feral
I'm not even going to justify that with a response. And yes, I am aware that this is, in fact, a response. Guest Jed
I'd second Lynk's motion, but I don't know how that would even work... *head hurts*
Mort-Hog
You used to be able to get really high scores by using a different account to rate up your own posts lots. Dunno if you still can, I think the 'spam bot' catches it or something.

Pointless,... how about minus points if u are caught spamming/flaming/breakin the rulez n such ...because that account would be recognized a spammer, subsequently banned and your real account would afterwards be on the line. If you spam, you die. Simple as that

Mort-Hog
It's not really pointless, as then you can get, say, 3000 points in about 30 minutes, and then become a mod. Of course, the only person that'd do that would have malicious intent to begin with, unless you're that desperate to have your name italic. But anyway, I think that's been fixed. Those that did that have been banned from the store, from what I know.

Young David
Ya know ... I'm a mozilla forummer and I didn't actually notice the glowing name things because it's making use of an IE tag. So I don't see them. I think eye candy things are okay, but there need to be some multibrowser things.

Taos
I think that the credit system is a good thing. Like Aristotle said, we are here for some fun and I think features like that only add to it. I myself am shooting for a glowing user name. I am scared to death though of anyone who wasn't named a mod becoming "mod for a day."

Ender
Hm, I wonder if I could sue LucasForums for false advertising It should be mentioned that Glows are not a standard HTML feature - and thus if you buy a glow for your name only people using Internet Explorer will see them. So if a Mozilla/Netscape user buys a glow they might wonder what they have wasted their credits on, as it won't show up! Anyone using Mozilla/Phoenix, Konqueror, Opera (I think), ecetra, will see nothing unusual.
Riffage
i would probably say you coudnt, as like you already know it wont work in Mozilla/Phoenix, Konqueror, Opera (I think), ecetra as like you just said it...
