BigTeddyPaul
Tanguay and a few picks to Philley for Chech who chokes! You know you want to. I don't think he Abs can cut it like Legace or Turco can. We will find out and I cannot say anythings since I thought Johnson could/still can do it in St. Louis. EDIT: CRICKEY! I just went to ESPN and saw that Chech was traded to LA for a 2nd rounder. A 2nd Rounder! I know the guy sucked this playoff year but come on the D sucked to. A 2nd rounder for a guy who can win games during the season and is a ? for the playoffs. I would do it especially sine a lot of people need goalies right now. BigTeddyPaul
ckcsaber
Well tonights the night. I'm going to be doing lot's of praying, dancing, munching, swearing, screaming, and hopefully celebrating. Let's go ANAHEIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BigTeddyPaul
Can't believe the ducks are going to win the cup before the Blues. What a world. BigTeddyPaul
ckcsaber
The ducks had a great run through the playoffs, but it's over now. They choked, and evil New Jersey won, but the whole playoffs have been the best the Ducks have EVER played.

WHAT?!?!?!
BigTeddyPaul
Do you guyes realize only one team has won the cup since 95 that does not include the Avs, Wings, or Devils? That is 4 different teams who won the cup in 8 years and one team only won it once. Not a big difference in winners each year is there? Those bastard fans should be shot. Anyone who gets you to a game 7 is good so they need to shut the **** up. BigTeddyPaul

Even though the wings and devils are my two least favorite teams in the entire NHL..........i HATE them Those bastard fans should be shot. Anyone who gets you to a game 7 is good so they need to shut the **** up. Seriously. I was SO mad at them. Giguer was UNDOUBTEDLY the best player in the playoffs this year. He gave up ONE goal against the wild in all 4 games. ONE GOAL!!! That's amazing. He also stopped HOW many shots against the redwings? Oh yeah. I was so glad that he got it. BigTeddyPaul
Jersians are saying they aren't booing Giguere but booing the fact that Brodeur didn't get it. I can kind of see it since Broduer did have 7 shut outs but I tell you right now if the D was switched Giguere would have both the cup and the Smythe and Brodeur would probably be out in the 2nd round. I hate stevens......hate him I hate him I hate him. And that is one of the reasons why. That hit was a load of bull****. He should've at LEAST got a 5 minute major for that, Kariya had gotten rid of the puck WAY before Stevens was even CLOSE to hitting him........  And Brodeur did NOT deserve the Con Smythe Trophy, no matter what those stupid devil fans think. Giguere led a team that nobody expected ANYTHING out of into a game 7 of the stanley cup finals. He had maybe TWO games out of 22 that he wasn't unbelievable. Brodeur is good, but he's not THAT good. He pitched those shut outs because he had a team with stronger Defense. I didn't see him make ONE save last night that made me go WOW. Giguere had at least 2 or 3 last night alone that were just amazing. Stupid Jersians.
Mandalorian54
I guess new jersy won then. Oh well, I don't really care. After the terrible reffing with the senator games, I really couldn't care less about the rest of the playoffs. It's that kind of reffing that ruins hockey. I wonder if there was any bribary going on. Ever since that basketball guy took over hockey I've noticed the reffing seems more in favor of the bigger markets. I don't know how ottawa pulled it off against the Islanders, but that was amazing. If it was me I would have given up right there. How can you play with so many cheap calls against you? Anyway, I'm getting reallt fustrated with the NHL lately. My dad is even going to quit working at the corel centre. But I must say Anaheim deserved the stanely cup.
BigTeddyPaul
I HOPE YOU ALL ARE HAPPY! I am sure not. Selanne and Karyia sign with the Avs. Selanne gets 5.8 and Karyia gets 1.2 Greedy Selanne. Hatcher signs with Detroit. HOLY CRAP NOOOOO! Avs lines: Karyia Sakic Selanne Tanguay Forseberg Hedjuk THAT IS SCARRY! Goal scoring isn't going to be a problem. Lets see how your D and especially goalies do unless your GM gets some help from outside at G. Lidsrtom Hatcher Chelios Schneider HOLY CRAP IS THAT GOING TO HURT. Put me in there as goalie and we should win the cup even though offence was Detroit's main problem. Better hope St. Louis' rookies become Pros real fast. I think Kerry (ref) was on the payroll of the Wild, because he LITERALLY cost the Avs the playoffs and the Stanley Cup with his VERY VERY Bad calls, as noted earlier in thread. I hope he doesn't return to NHL again.

That's an All-Star Game powerplay unit. I'm not worried about goaltending, Aebischer isn't phenomenal, but he's talented, and with experience he will get better. My worry right now is our Defense......so far I haven't heard of anybody new except for Karlis Skrastins, and I've never heard of him before now.....he's from the predators........But since we still have Blake and Foote and Morris.....with any luck Skoula will either be traded, cut, or killed I have a REALLY good feeling about this coming season for us.......:D:D
coupes.
now that's what i call 'buying a championship' and it's the reason why professionnal sports are dying, smaller markets simply cannot be as competitive, in my opinion this is plain stupid, but one hell of a team. BigTeddyPaul
Ummmm No. The Ducks and the Wild made it to the Western Congerence Finals. While I am not denying higher priced teams make it to the Cup and the playoffs more often there is still a chance. The Ducks beat the Wings and Dallas. Those teams are ranked like #2 and #4 in spending while the Ducks only spent like 34 million and were ranked like #14 in spending. The Wild beat the Avalanche and Vancouver. The Wild spend like 26 million on the team. They are ranked in the back of the NHL on spending. They beat the Avs who are like #5 and the Canucks who aren't that great spending wise but have possilby the best 2 winger combinations in hockey and came off beating the Blues 4-3 when they were down 3-1 in the series. Not entirely true about spending = cups. My proof are the Rangers. BigTeddyPaul
ET Warrior
Selanne and Karyia sign with the Avs. Selanne gets 5.8 and Karyia gets 1.2 Greedy Selanne. It's not so much Greedy Selanne, as it is really generous Kariya, Kariya got paid 10 million last year to play for the ducks. He took an over 8 million dollar pay cut to come to the avs. One big reason was because he REALLY wanted to be on the avs and play with Selanne again, but another reason is that if he plays this season earning less than the league average, he'll be a class 5 unrestricted free agent after this season, allowing him to demand more wages if he desires.. now that's what i call 'buying a championship' and it's the reason why professionnal sports are dying, smaller markets simply cannot be as competitive, in my opinion this is plain stupid, but one hell of a team. Not really "Buying the championship" though, because we're paying less to have Selanne and Kariya than we paid Roy. And since he's retired, so far our total salaries are LESS than what we paid last year.....mmmmmmm........
coupes.
however I wouldn't be surprised if Lacroix was going after a #1 goalie before the season starts.
BawBag™
*Time for BB to get laughed out of this thread* I go see the Edinburgh Capitals when I can. Obviously a Mickey Mouse team compared to over the pond. I love to watch the game but haven't been into it for that long. My favourite player is Steven Kaye (Jan Kraijkec too). I would have bought a season ticket but got one for the Hearts instead. (Footy first). Ah well, I have to pay for NASN so I don't see a lot of proper professional games. *Sighs* Back to proper hockey then....
BigTeddyPaul
Lots happening: Rangers sign De Vries Colorado signs Selanne and Kariya for pennies. Roy officially retires. Detroit signs Hatcher. Hasek is back which means that Detroit has about 19 million in goalie salaries. That is almost the entire payroll on the Wild. Hopefully they get burned in that trade. Other bad news is that Legace will likely ge the start next year if there is a next year. Blues trade Nash (so happy) and Stillman for picks LA will be a dominate team with Chechie in goal and all their players healthy. Did you know that Deadmarch (sp) only played like 20 games last year due to concussions. Poor guy. Sharks will hopefully suck some more. I HATE THEM!!! Prospal has one good year and signs for 3.5 mill a year with teh Ducks. Might regret that one tomorrow. Florida tried to pull some crap with the last pick this year and draft a guy who will be the #1 pick next year. The rules state that your birthday has to be before a certain date and this Russian guy was 3 days later so he was ineligable this year. Florida claims though that since since there is a leap year every 4 year that if you add those three days in they fit the requirement. Sneaky bastards trying to get next years #1 with this years #270 or whatever it was. Boston's owner is a cheap person who won't spend money to keep the guys they drafted who rock. Poor Rolston and Samsonov. Hopefully they leave and take Thorton with them. BARRET JACKMAN WON THE CALDER CUP! In your face Zetterberg fans. Now my 2 cents... my Islanders sign Mariusz Czerkawski... AGAIN... my question... WHY?!?! How's Osgood treating you BTP? Giving up soft goals in street hockey games during the summer? Talk about DONE! Hope Papineau is halfway decent for us!
BigTeddyPaul
Pap is the pimp. I don't care who you are but if you score 5 goals in a preseasons game you rule. Also if you count how many posts he hit during the few games he played for you last year he could have been a 10 goal scorer. Osgood is better than anything out there right now and I never knew why everyone knocked him. Sure he gave up questionable goals but all the Blues need is a goalie who can win in the playoffs. That is all we have needed for years. He can do it even if it isn't always that convincing. Really annoying trying to defend him especially against the Wings who he won cups for. Lets see how good he is with a full year under his belt with the Blues hopefully knowing their system. BigTeddyPaul
pbguy1211
He just lost it last year. He gave up so many soft goals that cost us so many one goal games early last year. I man 1, 2 maybe even 3 softies a night. He's done. What about Sergei going to the Ducks? I think they'd have been netter off keeping Kariya. Even though Sergei has the cups, I think Kariya was a better fit for the Ducks. Sergei may be too much of a puck hog for what the Ducks need.
